We are on the corner of Sandyland Road and Elm St. in the La Cabana complex, just across the street from the beach-

We take meticulous care of this condo and furnish it as we would our own home, as we like to stay here at times ourselves.

Our unit is a completely and beautifully renovated 2 bdrm condo in quiet complex- Pergo floors, granite counter tops, newly painted sky blue, new tile bathroom floor. It is full of light, and is peaceful and comfortable.

You can walk across the street to Carpinteria Beach, one of the loveliest, cleanest beaches at the South Central Coast.

We have a year round heated swimming pool at complex, beautiful landscaping, gas grill, and the complex is meticulously maintained.

The wildlife refuge is a short walk and has excellent birding. The seal rookery is down the beach. Dolphins and whales swim offshore. Carpinteria is a lovely beachside town with good restaurants, shops, parks, artists' shops, antique stores, and palm tree lined streets.

Santa Barbara is 15 minutes up Rt. 101, with many family activities and attractions: shops; zoo; botanical gardens; bike paths; watersports, art museum, natural history museum . Summerland is a great nearby town for antiquing and many wineries are nearby.

About The Owner

We live in Santa Barbara, and love the beautiful climate and outdoors we are fortunate to enjoy. We moved here from the Boston area, so it's especially nice in the winter. We have 3 boys, a youngest daughter, and all of us love coming to Carpinteria and going to the beach when we get down to our condo!

The Owner purchased this condo in 2003

Why The Owner chose Santa Barbara Area

We loved the town of Carpinteria at first sight. It has a small town, community feeling, and reminded us a little of New England. We enjoy the tall palms lining the streets, expansive beaches, local shops of all kinds, warm breezes, and relaxed and friendly people. We live up in 101 in Santa Barbara but come to Carpinteria regularly because we enjoy it. There are many places to explore: wetland preserve, seal rookery, enormous greenhouses (see the orchids). The foothills are also fun to explore.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is in a small complex, La Cabana, across the street from Carpinteria Beach. Most of the condos are owner occupied, so it does not feel like the usual vacation resort. We overlook the courtyard from our second floor unit. We can go out the door in the morning, and walk on the beach in the early light or go for a swim. A short walk away is the Spot, a great local hamburger place, and in the other direction is the wetland marsh preserve. From our unit you can hear the ocean and feel the onshore breeze.

California Paradise

The condo was clean, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The location was perfect for a lovely, quiet vacation where you could leave the windows open and night and hear the waves. Walking to the beach took about 2 minutes and getting to the quaint downtown area about 5 minutes. Close enough to the Santa Barbara Wharf and downtown area to visit daily if desired. The pool was spotlessly clean, the gardens well maintained and such a quiet place! Loved it!

Amazing location with added benefit of a pool!

We loved our stay at the beach condo and are already dreaming of our next stay. The condo is very well represented in the listing photos. Can't think of anything that was missing -- it has a very well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We all commented that the decor created a very peaceful environment. Location could not have been better and it was nice to have the pool for afternoon dips -- often we were the only people using it during a prime August week. I knew that this was not a shiny new building from the photos, but was a little concerned when I saw lots of temporary plywood in the railings and other common spaces. However, I was pleased to learn that the HOA was just waiting for some delayed materials to arrive before completing the renovation. It really didn't take away from the experience. Great Wi-Fi -- it would be very easy to work from the apartment if you need to do so. Overall, the building was very quiet despite a full parking lot -- however, we were always able to find a convenient spot. Amy the property owner's manager was wonderful. The owners are lucky to have her.

Perfect for a long weekend.

This was our 2nd Labor Day Weekend stay in Carpenteria and in this unit. The building complex is medium size and so not that many people. Overall, it is very family friendly. Location is amazing as it's right across from the beach. Also, the pool is perfect if you have kids. The place itself is very clean and had all we needed. We would go back again.

Cleaner than any hotel room I have ever stayed in, a few steps from the beach, great pool, friendly residents/other renters.

Nicely decorated, and quiet. Can walk to anyplace in town you want to go.

Fantastic location

The condo was clean and well-equipped. We were so close to the beach that we could walk back to let the little ones use the potty. Next time we're in Carpinteria we're definitely going to stay here.
