The residence and guesthouse have been upgraded throughout. New finishes include cherry floors, full granite slab baths, first rate appliances, and numerous floorplan enhancements. Sliding glass doors in guest cottage, master bedroom, upstairs and downstairs en suite bedrooms, living room and dining room encourages indoor/outdoor living in paradise. The property now features cutting edge aspects such as security, A/C, entry gate, and WiFi. Large HD flatscreen TVs in every bedroom. Bluetooth connectable speakers in both the kitchen and the living room.

The ultimate location and sprawling acreage with manicured landscaping and lawns down to the beach is unique to Hawaii. 'The Dolphin House' is the jewel of the north shore and offers a vacation dreams are made of! Simply the best in Hanalei.

Perfect vacation place.

Great. Close to food, shopping and on the beach. Perfect home for our family. Host, and owner were great to work with. I can not say enough good things about this property. Would love to come again and stay longer.

Wonderful Hanalei Bay Home

The home is lovely and spacious. The location is unbeatable. The owner and property manager were very gracious and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed so much wonderful family time here. AC is only in the bedrooms but we quickly adjusted to the fans throughout the common areas.

The Dolphin House is a perfect vacation home. Steps from the beach, beautifully appointed, large, filled with private spaces to sneak away, as well as gathering areas for big families and groups. I could not recommend it more highly.

Incredible stay

We could not have loved our experience at the Dolphin House, more. It was truly a dream come true with the oceanfront and walk-to-town location. We had a large group with a nanny, couples without kids, grandparents and little kids. Across the board everyone felt they had their own space and privacy thanks to the thoughtful layout. Lastly, the property manager was so helpful at check-in and throughout the process. We will absolutely be returning!

Amazing place to spend time with family

Hanalei Bay is one of the most beautiful places on earth and this house is ideally located on it. We had a wonderful week with my family of 8 at the house. We swam every day and loved the ease of walking down the manicured lawn to the beach. Also the landscaping in general is top notch. The landscaping lighting at night is gorgeous. We played frisbee on the huge lawn, grilled steaks, ate on the patio, etc. A wonderful place and you'd be lucky to stay here. Jennifer, the property manager, was very helpful and accommodating to our schedule that got thrown off by winter travel craziness.

Great place to stay!

We travel to Kauai every year or two as it one of our favorite places in the world. The north shore of Kauai is our favorite part of the island and we have stayed in hotels, Airbnbs, and have rented several houses in Hanalei. The Dolphin House is by far the best we have rented. It is located in what I'd say is the best part of the beach on Hanalei and the estate is amazing! Just like the exterior of the estate, the interior of the house is extremely well maintained and is very clean. We highly recommend this house and will for sure return. The owner as well as the property manager were great to work with and we highly recommend them as they made the process smooth and made us feel very welcome! Thanks for sharing/renting your house to us, we really enjoyed it!

Dolphin House

Every single element of our stay at the Dolphin House was perfect for us. We were a group of eight, six adults and two young children. The home had ample room for all of us easily. The large, sweeping backyard lawn provided endless area for getting outdoors with the littles and romping around. Easy beach and town access, all easily walkable. The inside living area also was wonderfully large with loads of room for us all. We used a wagon for our 2 granddaughters to walk into town. We've been visiting Kauai for 35 years. Staying at the Dolphin House was one of the best experiences we've had visiting Kauai.

I stayed here 10 years ago and nothing really has changed. Love the house and location but it’s time for some new towels and bedding. The outdoor patio chairs were uncomfortable. The owner was very attentive and quick to respond to a problem with the freezer door handle and very helpful leading up to and throughout our stay. Jessica put us in touch with Chef Christophe who came to the house and made a couple amazing meals for our group. Overall, was great experience, house just needs a few updates.

Great house on the beach

We had a wonderful time at Kai Nani. Great location, space for everyone, gorgeous surroundings and impeccable landscaping. Our only complaint was musty air conditioning in a couple rooms.

Dolphin House NEVER disappoints

We stayed here 7 years ago and again this last June. There simply are no words to describe how magical this property is. The location is unbeatable and the pictures do it no justice. Staning on the lawn with the ocean waves breaking in front of you and turning around to see the lush mountians of Kauai with 12 cascading waterfalls! It's as if you stepped into Fantasy Island. Mark is a gracious owner and we can't thank him enough for opening his home to our family and friends for our stay. Just try to find a better alternative on Kauai, it's IMPOSSIBLE! So, if you can afford it, don't even think about waiting to book! Get that reservation going pronto or you will be out of luck next time you check the VRBO calendar. Thank you Mark!

Perfect for multi-generational families

We have stayed at the Dolphin house 4 times over the last 10 years. The house is huge, and it is has a lot of sleeping options for big families. There are ground floor rooms for the grandparents, and a separate guest house for young families with babies. The house is ideally situated-- you just walk out the back door, and you are on the beach. You can also walk to town in less than 5 minutes for your morning coffee. The house is maintained impeccably, and it looks the same today as it did 10 years ago. There is no better spot to stay in Kauai!

Elegant and Perfect for a Beach House

The Dolphin house was immaculate! Everyone in our party was comfortable and in awe of the living, sleeping and outdoor space. Jessica was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Words do not describe the yard that leads to the beach. The grounds are very manicured and make it lovely to sit outside and enjoy the natural beauty all around. The kitchen was great for cooking a big breakfast and eating the at table on the lanai ...wow... Thank you Mark and Carlee and Jessica. It was a perfect family vacation!

The best!

We had the best multi-generational stay at the Dolphin house. The location is magic - waterfalls, rainbows, mountains, ocean, stars and sunsets. The house is spacious, comfortable and so much fun with a great kitchen, pool table, card table, sound system, etc. We can't wait to go back!

What a superb property!! By far the best on Hanalei beach!!!! We have rented a few and this is at the top of our list! Perfect location (on the beach and close to town) great size house for 10, functional kitchen, location is actually magical (mountains in the background and beach). No other property at this price comes close to this one! Our beach was also very quiet, far from the public access. If I had to add a suggestion, I would ask for extra outdoor furniture (for cocktail hour maybe a couch/coffee table). Also, it was great that there was lots of beach chairs/umbrellas to use. And The grounds are so manicured! What a treat to spend our 2 weeks here!! We will for sure be back!!!!!!

Beautiful location and plenty of space for the whole family

We loved our stay at Kai Nani. The location was perfect with views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. The kitchen was very well supplied with all the pots and pans and cooking utensils needed which made meal preparation easy but the knives were quite which was frustrating at times. The house and grounds were great for kids and the manager helped us coordinate a crib and stroller for our infant son which was very helpful.

My parents purchased their dream home in 2008. I am honored to operate and manage the property for renters to enjoy. They knew it was the perfect home for their family of six, which now has expanded to twenty-two with sons and daughters-in-law and twelve grandchildren!

Why they chose this property

Hanalei Bay is our dream location. We had been vacationing in Kauai for some time and were intrigued by buying on the island. Once we stumbled upon Hanalei's beach, we knew we found the location. We have a big family that loves to surf, sunbathe, swim, snorkel, walk/run on the sand, play beach volleyball, and living on the sand was our priority. From the house, the town of Hanalei is an easy walk (3 or 4 blocks), so relaxing is simple as you simply do not need to get into a car until you return to the airport. The Dolphin house fits our expanding nuclear family of 6, and is on the sand. We found our dream!

What makes this property unique

Ocean front property is tough to come by. The large lawn leading to the sand is relaxing. We use the outdoor bbq regularly. We love the wi-fi, and high definition satellite TVs. New Ipod docks built into every bedroom in the house connected to house wide speaker system. We are in close proximity to everything a Hawaii vacation offers.
