Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

The property is spacious and beautiful. It is clean and orderly. Nice furniture and comfortable arrangement for a large or small group. The deck off the living room gives a great view of the river and the kayaks, boats, birds and other traffic on the water. We saw an eagle (or osprey) swoop down and catch a fish in the river in front of the house! Manatees go by regularly. The Kayak Shack is on the other side of the bridge if you want to rent a kayak for a couple of hours or schedule a float trip from the Weeki Wachee springs. There are many small local restaurants with wonderful food and reasonable prices. Eating out is affordable here. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Great relaxation home

  • 5 of 5

This home is a treasure in Weeki Wachee. The location is great, right on the river and on the other side of the bridge is a kayak/canoe/paddleboard rental. The water is crystal clear and always a refreshing 74 degrees. We tried to paddle to the Weeki Wachee springs park, but after paddling 2 hours upstream, about 3 miles, we decided to float back with the current, which takes about a third of the time and a lot less effort. Turns out with all the turns, the springs is about a 5 mile paddle, haven't trained enough for that yet. The drive to the park and nearby stores (Publix, Winn Dixie, Home Depot) is indeed barely 10 minutes. Don't forget to stop by one of the produce stands.

The house is roomy and beautiful with a great porch which sheltered us well from the afternoon showers. The kitchen offers all amenities and is well stocked with pots and flatware. A true home away from home.

We will definitely return to this home, this was our most relaxing vacation in a long time!

WOW So very happy with this home no one who stays at this property would be disappointed! The house is very clean, well stocked and well maintained. All the comforts of home and then some. Spent many hours on the covered deck drinking our morning coffee and watching the boats go down the river. Saw Manatees, Mullet, Alligator Gar cruising by the dock. Did some fishing caught blue gill and bass. Floated around in the cool spring water.

Our eight year old loved the house and was fascinated by the cathedral ceilings and wanted to take the house with us when we left, He also loved the air hockey table and Netflix.

My only regret is that I procrastinated and could not get a full seven days. I won't make that mistake when I reserve the house for next year!

The was a great place

  • 5 of 5

The large 2nd floor deck was protected from the sun and rain where we spent many hours. It also was an awesome overlook on the Weeki Wachee River, and I don't think there was a single day in our months stay that we didn't see one or more Manatees in the river right from the deck. Our record was 13 Manatees in a day. Many things to see and do nearby, with shopping and restaurants. Becky Jacks Café/Restaurant was awesome.

Great vacation spot!

We had an absolutely fabulous time here during our stay in April, 2015! The house was great, well equipped for just about anything you would need. The deck was the greatest place to hang out and the location could not have been better. We saw up to 13 manatees every day, local boat traffic was interesting, and we were right in the middle of all the excitement. We bought the annual Florida State Park family pass and went to the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park just about every day. We saw the mermaids a few times, went to Buccaneer Bay water park (in the park) which was busy on many days and sparsely attended most days, making for great beaching and the swimming was unsurpassed. We went to many local restaurants, and most were very good. The Upper Deck, just across the street was a very nice place to go...dinner and a drink and BeckyJacks is a must-do. We kayaked the river twice, both days were was a busy day on the weekend and the other was less congested during the week. We bicycled the Weeki Wachee Preserve with our mountain bikes several times and the area is blessed with the Suncoast and Withlacoochee bike paths, miles and miles of safe biking on pavement with a great deal of sun and shade. We watched the spectacular sunsetz at Bayport Pier several times. The home was top notch, the property manager was awesome and we thank the owner for letting us stay at such a beautiful spot. Believe me when I say we could not have been any happier with our HomeAway selection!

We had a wonderful month! The house has every amenity anyone could want. This was our second year to enjoy our stay. The fishing was great! We have been coming to Weeki Wachee for 40 years and this home is by far the best place we have rented.
