As for the beach which is LESS THAN 100 FT from the patio , Malaekahana Bay is just about everyone's idea of the perfect Hawaiian beach. This Beach is praised by quite a few reviewers, such as Frommers, Home and Abroad, Sunset to name a few. Even in the old Hawaiian day’s, it was known as a place of Sacred Refuge for the Heart, Mind and Soul.
It’s crescent shaped bay with a mile of deserted walking beach is perfect for Swimming, Snorkeling, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Kite Surfing and Beach combing for the Famous Glass Balls. With it’s limited access, it’s secluded almost to the point of deserted, but you may bump into the occasional fisherman whipping for Papio or the venerable throw net master.
Get adventurous and take a stroll out to Mokuauia, also known as Goat Island. About 750 yds off the Malaekahana beach, this island holds two of the sweetest little sandy beaches of its own. Excellent Snorkeling.
The island is a protected Turtle and seabird sanctuary, but may be visited and there is a trail around the island. Take a stroll around it and when you find your spot on the beach to enjoy the view of Oahu from offshore, lay back in the sand on your own little deserted island. When you get back to your home away from home, there is an outside shower to rinse off the sand for as well as an additional enclosed bathroom with shower accessable only from the exterior.
Restaurants, horseback riding, hiking, ocean sports, and many other activities are very close by. We are two miles north of Laie with it’s Foodland Grocery store and other local dining as well as a few franchise establishments. BYU and the Polynesian Cultural Center are within another mile.
We are three miles south of the Turtle Bay Resort where there are 36 holes of championship golf and a extensive tennis facility and pro shop. Casual as well as Fine Dining are available here.
Another ten minutes away is the famous surfing beaches of Oahu's North Shore including “Sunset”, 'Pipeline' “Rocky Point”. Two miles more will get you to Sharks cove and 'Waimea Bay'.

Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
We are a family of 12 from Iowa. We just loved the house, property and beach. We had a small incident late on our 2nd night, I called Bill and Nancy, God Bless their souls, they were at the house within 20 minutes. The house is well furnished, you name it, they had it. We loved the large yard (5 kids)! The beach is fabulous, why leave when you have the most beautiful beach to swim and play. THE VIEW, THE VIEW, I was blessed to wake every morning to the most gorgeous view ever. We also watched sea turtles feeding about 10 houses down the beach, Spectacular. The only downfall our family felt was there was no air conditioning in the house, as it was very humid and virtually no breeze, if you left for the day and had to close the house up while you were gone it was somewhat uncomfortable upon your return. We were over an hour away from downtown (Pearl Harbor), but was within several miles of Polynesian Culture Center and towns with plenty of amenities. We just loved our stay, location, view and host's. Thank you Nancy and Bill Ohana
Perfect beach front spot
We stayed at this home for 8 nights and loved it! The proximity to the beach (right out the back door) was perfect for early morning or evening walks, or playing all day. The beach was awesome with nice sand, enough waves to play in but not too rough for kids, quiet - and the proximity to everything on the northern side of the island made getting out for day trips enjoyable.
The house is well stocked - full kitchen, grill, beach towels, beach toys and chairs, card games - and the layout was perfect for multiple families with little kids who nap at different times through the day.
We Loved our Stay!
The proximity to the Beach, North Shore, Amenities, Goat Island, Hiking, Surfing, Snorkeling, Shopping, PCC and what seemed to be even more was amazing!! The house itself was awesome! Big open area that allowed us to mingle, cook and just have a good time! We really liked the place and did not want to leave! The kids loved the Beach and would have been happy just to play there all day! Nancy and Bill were great! We didn't have the opportunity to meet Bill, but Nancy came over 3 times and was in touch with us from the beginning! She was great!! Did I say how much we loved this place!! HaHa!! Would go back in a heartbeat!!
Aloha All.
Glad you enjoyed the home and property.
Looks like you pretty much filled the days with hiking and non-stop beach activity's followed by Bar-B-Que's.
Nancy's visits for rubbish removal is a nice chance for us to meet our new friends
Bill is sorry he did not get to meet you as he really enjoys telling our guests even more than whats on our "Things to do " list.
Looking forward to seeing you all again, it was our pleasure to be of service.
Aloha and ahui ho !

Beautiful Beachhouse in Paradise
This house had everything advertised and so much more! My family stayed for a week this January, 2018, and didn’t have a single complaint about the home, except that we had to leave it! The kitchen is well stocked with every possible necessity for cooking family meals. The gas grill on the porch is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery while keeping the heat of cooking outside. The beds are plentiful and comfortable and with five rooms, three full inside access bathrooms and one outside the family can comfortably live together without bouncing off of each other like crazy. The beach is just steps away down the grass from the backyard. Swimming is possible but you have to beware of the rocks about ten feet into the water. There were snorkelers, surfers, windsurfers, fishermen, and plenty of other types of ocean enjoyment happening right there throughout our stay. There are surfboards, boogie boards, snorkels, masks and fins and water shoes in a variety of sizes provided for the guest’s enjoyment. Nancy and Ohana were great to us and were able to get us both an early check in and a late check out. We had a fire alarm battery start chirping during our stay and they came right by to replace it for us. This is definitely the beach house for families looking for a relaxed beach vacation away from the crowded beaches of Waikiki! With travel times to anywhere on Oahu of an hour it’s easy to access any outing you want to take and still return to your secluded beach house at the end of every day!
Aloha Alexis and Ohana.
So glad you all enjoyed your stay with us.
The weather was indeed perfect while you were here for all sorts of Ocean fun.
It was our pleasure to be of service to you and yours and we do hope to see you again !
Aloha

Giving You More Than a Set of Keys
Perfect for a family vacation!
This is a great family rental for all ages. The rooms are spacious and clean, the kitchen is well-equipped and the beach is very private and just outside the back door. The grandsons especially enjoyed the large yard for running, soccer and baseball!
Bill and Nancy were most helpful with everything and we will make every effort to come back for another longer stay :).
Thanksgiving in Oahu
Hawaii is called paradise for many reasons but what made this trip memorable is the location and state of the property and the service extended by Bill and Nancy - property managers:
1) location and state of property - the property is located in a serene and secluded beach yet close enough to restaurants and supermarkets and countless beach activities such as snorkeling, surfing etc. The house has direct access to the beach and if you are an early riser - well you can experience a sunrise while sipping your cup of coffee or tea. The house is big and is well stocked (from boogie boards to waffle maker) and has internet access and cable (in case you cant tune out). It also has a big yard where the kids can play with a big lanai. The house is very private and quiet
2) Bill and Nancy made us always feel welcome and were available if so needed. We took them up on their request. Considering that this was our first Thanksgiving in Oahu, we wanted to shy away from the typical dinner at home and so Bill suggested that we attend an Imu with them. What an experience! The turkey came out great after having been buried in a fire pit for 14 hours and the host and friends were very warm and welcoming. We had a lot of fun
Overall, a great place to stay at. The property managers are simply great to work with. They are very accommodating and strive to make your stay a pleasant and memorable one - after all you just came to paradise
Jonathan - counting the days until I can come back
Aloha Jonathan
Mahalo for the wonderful review.
Yes, secluded is the word on this beach and the Sunrises are Beautiful !
Glad you enjoyed the local markets and activity's that abound around the area.
It was our pleasure to have you join us at our annual Thanksgiving Imu.
Kind of different burying your food with red hot rocks, banana leaves and burlap eh ! LOL
I'm sure we will see your group in parts or whole in the future and we look forward to seeing you again.
Aloha nui loa and ahui ho
