Our wonderful home and gardens in East Hampton are unique. We have enjoyed years of fun with a large family and many friends in this paradise!
The main house is a farmhouse from the 1800's which has been lovingly restored and added onto through the years. This house has a charming, warm, inviting and whimsical spirit. It is comfortable and casual in the old-time Hamptons beach cottage style. The main house has 5 bedrooms and 5 full baths. Each bedroom has either a private patio or deck. The separate dining room has a large farmhouse table that can seat up to 14 (we've done it many times!). The kitchen is fully equipped, and the stone floored living room has woodburning fireplace. The master bedroom has a large separate office which can also be used as an extra bedroom. The Master suite also has a lovely container garden patio on one side, with outdoor table and seating, perfect for 'private time'. There are two outdoor showers, one at the main house, and one at the cottage.
The back lawn of the property is a paradise. It is huge, and surrounded by a beautiful gardens and trees. We have enjoyed many a wiffel ball and croquet contest there. The back patio which faces onto the lawn is perfect for cocktails, barbeques and entertaining. The 20 by 40ft. heated gunite pool, including gunite spa, is located at the back of the property and is screened for privacy. The pool/spa area has a soothing Zen quality, and is stunning. The property is fully landscape lighted for nighttime fun and festivities.
The pool house/guest cottage is adorable, with full sleeping loft with king bed, and two twins downstairs. There is also a full bath, small kitchen and outdoor shower.
This is a magical, amazing place. It has been my Shangri La and escape over 20 years! It is perfect for a large family or a number of couples. It is fun, charming, and fabulous!! If you are not familiar with the Hamptons, the beaches, farmstands, shopping, restaurants, are some of the best in the world. This is a truly historical area famous also for its beaches, artists, museums, and outdoor activities. It is a paradise for people of all ages!!!
Hi Minerva! We all had a wonderful time. I loved the location of your place and was able to walk to the Farm stand and up to the Bagel shop a number of times. Your house is very charming and your backyard and pool area is just beautiful. My mother loves flowers (of course I do to), but that outdoor area is truly special. Our highlights were Main Beach, Coopers Beach, Montauk Lighthouse and the Winery you recommended. The family meals we shared around the table and cocktails out on the porch were truly memorable.
Your caretaker, Ann was wonderful and very responsive, so we really appreciated that. Thank you for allowing us the use of your home in the beautiful Hamptons!
August of 2016, it was our pleasure to live at this beautiful farmhouse for two weeks. We are a family of three generations with two dogs. This property was the perfect setting for our time together in the Hamptons.
Location is a big plus for this property. We walked & biked into town, walked to Three Mile Harbor & explored the trails in the surrounding nature preserves. By car, it's a short drive to the beaches & neighboring towns. Our favorite restaurant, Nick & Toni's, is down the road. The main house comfortably slept our family of eight. All mattresses & linens were clean & in good condition. Four of the five bedrooms have private baths. Those four private baths each had a roomy shower & plenty of towels. While none of the bedrooms have closets, there are plenty of hooks on the walls of each room with hangers provided for hanging clothing. I'd like to note, that the rooms on the main floor of the house are on varying levels that require a step or two, or in some cases a half step to access. This was a bit of a challenge for our family members of 90+ years with failing vision. Luckily, no accidents. The dining room has a large table & there were evenings when we seated as many as fourteen. The fully stocked kitchen & outdoor grill made preparing meals enjoyable. The indoor living room is cozy with comfortable seating, fireplace, TV & offers wonderful views of the fabulous backyard. The backyard is totally fenced, which was great for our dogs. The outdoor living space on the back patio overlooks the beautifully landscaped property. We enjoyed all hours of the day on that outdoor patio. It was very relaxing to watch the hummingbirds & butterflies at work on the beautiful flowers & fruit trees. Very zen!! The salt water pool & spa are located at the opposite end of the yard. They are fenced in & landscaped for privacy. The pool area offered a good combo of sunny & shady areas with plenty of lounge chairs. The pool is large & beautiful. An additional bonus is the pool house located near the pool. It is a tiny cottage featuring a king loft, two single beds on the main floor with a full bath & kitchenette. It was the perfect place to sleep additional guests. The property owner is absolutely delightful. She promptly responded to any questions we had before & after our arrival, was extremely generous with check-in & check-out times& kept in touch to assure we had everything we needed. With much gratitude we offer thanks to her for sharing her paradise.
I have rented many homes on vrbo over the last seven years and each and every time I have been extremely happy with each rental. This beautiful home and property held the same expectations and exceeded in all areas. Unfortunately, my husband past away 4 months prior to this trip. My husband and I frequent the Hampton's every year but usually stayed in East Hampton at the several of the Inns, which we were extremely happy with. We loved this area of Long Island and so with this I wanted to bring my family to the Hampton's this summer to celebrate my 60th birthday and be able to show them all that we had loved here. So my search for the perfect oasis was on and I found this home. It gave us all privacy with the layout of the house and the cottage in the back for my grandchildren and their parents. Upon arriving Minerva kept me updated on any needed information and even reached out regarding if we needed to use any of her baby gear. I brought my two pups for the first time since they had been so devastated with the loss of my husband, too. Minerva was so understanding for the my need to have them. When all of us arrived we were blown away with how more beautiful the property was and how quaint the home was. Everything that we could possible need was here. The house and cottage were spotless and the pool area had toys and floats available for our use. I found a beautiful handwritten note for me along with a bottle of my favorite wine from Wolffer Estate Vineyard. The bottle was "Summer in the Bottle"so fitting for our stay. This home is extremely private and surrounded by the beauty of trees and flowers that make you forget all that you left behind. This home gave me such peace and helped me and my family regroup from the loss of father/husband/grandfather. The yard layout is beautiful and with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a moment of paradise whether in the gated pool area or sitting under a tree in the adirondack chairs that she has there. We played plenty of board games the patio which is itself an oasis. Each bedroom has it's own bath and some with outdoor showers. My son-in-law and grandson especially enjoyed these. The private roof deck overlooking the property is just magnificent for having your coffee to start you day or wine to wind down your day. The house is supplied well with reading material, games and information regarding the area. I definitely recommend this home as you will enjoy it as much as we did! Minerva was an excellent host!!
Just returned from a wonderful week at this charming farmhouse in the Hamptons. We loved the cozy and authentic charm of the place, the many private bedrooms, each with a bath and an outdoor access. The pool and spa at the far end of the big back lawn were wonderful, the landscaping casual, colorful and varied. The kids played pool-tackle football, and swam all day. Our 6 year old learned to swim, and love it, for the first time. The house was well stocked with everything one would need on vacation. At night we enjoyed the porch couches and lawn chairs with local beers and to-go raw clams from Bostwicks nearby. The Deli down the street had coffees, fresh baked goods and misc supplies. The location was an easy day trip to Montauk and Sag Harbour, and a short drive
to shopping or dinner out in East Hampton nearby. Minerva was a pleasure to work with. Her house exudes warmth and fun loving family moments. I recommend this lovely home for any family vacation.
What a wonderful oasis! The charming farmhouse rambles on and on with five fantastic bedrooms, dining room large enough for the whole brood, cozy living room with working fireplace, and kitchen that we enjoyed using for almost every meal -- why leave! However, the best part of this fabulous place is the gorgeous yard! When not enjoying the heated saltwater pool, we spent nearly every waking hour on the covered porch enjoying the beautiful landscaping and magical light. It's wonderfully located close to town with great shops and restaurants, and a short drive to the beach. We can't wait to return!
Having spent previous vacations at this wonderful Beach/Farmhouse home, we knew that this is where we wanted to be to celebrate a special time. It was the week before our daughter was to be married, and we wanted to make the week a memorable occasion. And we did; our family had the best time ever in this cozy yet sprawling home where each of the 5 bedrooms has its own personality and style. The charming living room with fireplace and flagstone floor, open dining area and cheerful efficient kitchen is wonderfully conducive to family fun, great meals, and good conversation. There's a relaxing hot tub off the large master bedroom with its own private tiled terrace. Another large terrace with awning off the living room looks out onto the huge deep garden with incredible plants, flowers, and enormous trees waving with a summer breeze. The beautiful private grounds has a fabulous fenced-in heated salt pool and spa that's safely located in the far end of the garden. It's a great and fun place to congregate; so comfortable with lots of lounge chairs, lighting for night swims and surrounded with glorious plantings. On the far left of the great lawn is a comfortable guest house equipped with kitchen, full bath and sleeps four. The owner's special touch and sensibility is evident throughout the property. This is a happy home and the owner wants her guests to be comfortable and totally enjoy their stay. We did exactly that: we swam, had great meals, thoroughly relaxed, laughed a lot, and had the best sleep ever with wonderful air and garden scents.
We also ventured outside this paradise to Wolffer Vineyards, the new and amazing contemporary Art Museum in Water Mill, Pollack Estate, and a new discovery; the fabulous Madoo Conservancy. Of course, we enjoyed eating in terrific and fun outside seafood places like "Lunch" that greeted our dachshund like family; had breakfast at a favorite and reasonable coffee shop in town, John Papas. And of course we spent lots of time on the beach; walking, swimming, and picnicking.
We just all had a fun and relaxing time together; felt very close to one another and will never forget this memorable experience. And huge credit definitely belongs to this fabulous property where you can't help but feel happy and content. I recommend it highly.
We enjoyed a truly incredible stay. Everyone, canine and human, had a fabulous time! The owner is the perfect combination of gracious and welcoming. An example of one of many thoughtful touches were the couple of bottles of excellent local wine and a hand painted card that she left wishing us a wonderful vacation. It is obvious that the house is a cherished retreat and we felt like treasured guests. It is a real farmhouse and you can see that it has been gradually added onto over the years, which gives it an authentic charm. The decor is classic, comfortable and has a beachy flair without drifting into kitchy. The long farmhouse table in the dining room is meant to host a crowd for lively gatherings (ours were!) and the chef's kitchen is fully stocked with all the tools to cook a feast. Loved that all the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and private patios or decks. It gave our large crew the option to spend time on their own deck or patio or gather as a group. The deck off the upstairs bedroom has a gorgeous view of the lawn and gardens but the walled patio off the master bedroom takes the cake with a potted garden and a hot tub. One day during our stay was rainy and chilly so we actually used the living room's wood burning fireplace in July! Few things are better than curling up in front of the fire on a damp, cool morning with coffee and a good book.Luckily, the weather was picture perfect for the rest of our visit so we could take advantage of the grounds...the huge backyard was just spectacular."Backyard" is too pedestrian a term for the enormous swath of perfectly manicured green lawn edged with lush English style gardens- I felt like I was stepping into a Merchant Ivory film! The back patio onto the lawn is essentially an outdoor living room with sofas, accent tables and a grill/dining area. The heated gunite pool and hot tub are at the far end of the yard and fully fenced (a relief with our young kids). An adorable guest cottage is also nestled back there. We swam, grilled, played whiffle ball-it was heaven! Also finally ventured beyond the house to take advantage of amazing shopping close by in East Hampton Village, hit the beautiful beach and go wine tasting at Wolfer vineyard (the source of the wine from the owner). A gourmet farm stand, Round Swamp, is just 2 blocks away- best guacamole and pies ever, fresh produce and prepped foods when we were too lazy to cook. Can't wait to come back to this wonderful house! It is a slice of paradise.
East Hampton is a well known resort area with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our property is biking or walking distance to town, and the beach, and is steps away from Round Swamp Farm, a 300 year old family owned farm stand with the best pies, fruits, vegetables and other goodies in the world! Also walking distance to beautiful Three Mile Harbor.
