So peaceful and I love all the art!

  • 5 of 5

I love all the art, furniture and decor! I keep finding cool pieces to look at and enjoy at every turn. Easy drive into Napa. We were in town for BottleRock so we didn't get to go to any wineries but we sure drove past them and saw many at BottleRock. It was so great after a long day to come back to the quiet peaceful villa. Definitely recommend this villa!

Relaxing Wine Country Retreat

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Leigh's Hacienda! The home is spacious and unique - beautifully decorated and well equipped. It was great for our 2 couples although one of the bedrooms is much smaller than the other. The property is secluded and a wonderful place to relax after spending time in the wine country. Wish we'd had more time to unwind on the huge porch! Recommend hiring a driver to take you to and from the wineries. It's not a long drive but the road is winding and dark at night.

Beautiful views of rolling hills. Extremely private. The epitome of relaxing Calistoga.

  • 5 of 5

The Hacienda is a beautiful property atop a rolling hill in Calistoga. The house was clean with eclectic furnishings and equipped with everything you might possibly need in the kitchen. It was also extremely cool during the hottest summer days on record without needing to turn on the AC, an indication of how well built the home is. We will be back!

The property was nice.

  • 1 of 5

I would never stay there again. Upon arrival the owner spent almost an hour going over every thing in the house. There were little signs posted everywhere on what not to touch, how to use lights etc. Reminded me of the song Sign Sign, everywhere a Sign. There was a sign in the kitchen " KEEPTHIS KITCHEN CLEAN EAT OUT",. I believe it is the owners primary residence as she stayed in a trailer about 50 yards away while we were there. Upon leaving I received an e-mail saying that we had left 2 pillows and a blanket there. And that she had two designer pillows missing. I replied back that we did not bring any pillows or blankets with us nor did we remove anything from her house. After several e-mails back and forth she admitted it was the people before us. Ten days after checking out she filed a claim with her insurance company against me for damages, claiming two designer pillows were missing. I have never in my life been even accused of taking anything. We left her house clean, not even a dirty dish.

Owner's Response: I am amazed at their review, never have i had such a response to people staying at the Hacienda.. Yes that sign is up, it is a made up tile that is a "funny sign" not made by me, but in a factory, no sense of humor needed. I do stay on the property when guests are there so if there is any problem that comes up, not anywhere near the villa, and un-scene, i can take care of it right away, as i actually live several miles from the property in my own home... Yes there were designer pillows gone when they left, also towels that did not belong to the home, the insurance policy they had would cover that, however, i did not make any claim against them. This is a custom home with several different types of switches to use, so of course i let guests know how to use them, as for spending one hour, more like 10 minutes. These guests need to get a reality check... however, they certainly left the home very nice....

Beautiful View, Peaceful, and Scenic!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in town to visit Napa with another couple. We really enjoyed our stay. The view and the serenity on the patio were so wonderful that we cancelled our fancy dinner reservations and opted to cook for ourselves and enjoy the views.

Leigh was a wonderful host. She gave us a thorough tour of the house and then left us to our own through the rest of the trip. The house is very comfortable. I was a little concerned about the "small room and bathroom" form other reviews but I think it was over blown. While the rooms are very different in size, the smaller room is a fine size for an Airbnb. The small bathroom is, yes, pretty small but we found it 100% ok for our use. We kind of used it as an "overflow" if someone was showering in the larger shower. Either way, we did not get the house to hang out in the bedrooms...we were mostly out on the patio except for when we were sleeping.

Location is a little ways from the wineries but that is the cost of being in such a quiet and serene spot. If you are doing wine tasting, just consider the distance from the heart of Calistoga and then add about 10-15 minutes to it. It was not an issue for us.

My only wish during our stay is that we would love to see a larger, better quality propane bbq grill. Leigh does provide one but it is more like one you would take tailgating and it just does not work great. Aside from that minor suggestion, it was truly a phenomenal stay that surpassed our expectations. We were very happy with the Villa!

Nice Property and House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights at the Hacienda in August 2017. The weather was perfect. The house is about an eight to ten minute drive west of Calistoga. The house was a perfect size for 5 of us. Leigh has the house provided with about everything one would want. The house is secluded and in the county. Very quiet day and night. Nice views from the deck in the evenings. Leigh meet us first thing when we showed up and gave us a tour of the house and how everything worked which was very helpful. We had no issues and loved staying here. Wish we could have stayed longer but San Francisco was calling. Thanks for letting us stay Leigh!
