Located right on Main Street in downtown Bryson City, the Hazel House was originally built in 1902 has been fully brought up to date with all modern comforts. Guests can sit on the porch and enjoy the view as well as walk to restaurants and shops and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. The entire restoration is featured in a series by the Perkins Builder Brothers.
The Hazel House was originally built in 1902 has been fully brought up to date with all modern comforts. The Hazel House has two bedrooms each with a king size bed and private bathroom. The living room area is an open floor plan and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. We’ve stocked the Hazel House with board games and tried to think of every detail that will make your stay perfect. The loft has been transformed into a cozy reading area and workspace. In November and December, the house is fully decked out for Christmas and the Polar Express.
Every aspect of the Hazel House has a story behind it. Fully restored from its days when Bud and Hazel Jacks lived on Main Street and ran their jewelry store next door. There was once a door that connected the two. Reclaimed materials and eco-friendly products have been used throughout. All artifacts found on the property during excavation have been saved and displayed. We love the history of this home and its unique location right in the heart of town. There are two dedicated parking spaces located right behind the house so there is no need to find public parking downtown and in the winter there are no treacherous inclines to tackle. The parking area is well lit and very safe.
From the Hazel House you can walk right across the street to restaurant favorites like Jimmy Macs, Pasqualino’s, Everett Hotel Bistro or pick up food from the food truck and eat at the Bryson City Outdoors Taproom. You can walk to the nearby seasonal Friday farmers’ market for fresh produce from our local farmers, honey from our local beekeepers and crafts from local artisans. Walk along the river and put your feet in the cool water at nearby Island Park. Hop in the car and drive just 3 miles to the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
There is one small IGA grocery store within walking distance and a larger Ingles a few minutes away. We know you'll feel right at home. If you need something extra let us know!

Beautiful home, right in the heart of Bryson City! Wonderful stay with everything we needed to enjoy another terrific trip to our favorite getaway spot.
Second time staying here. Great 2 bedroom house with all the amenities. Plenty of off street parking behind the house. Great location downtown with easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
We loved this property. It is perfect for a long or short getaway to Bryson City. You can walk to everything in town. Plus it is a short drive to many local attractions. Look forward to going back. My family went for short weekend for the Polar Express and couldn’t have been more pleased. Thanks again to Ashley who also owns the art galley next door.
This was our third time staying at the Hazel House with our grandchildren. We were in town for The Polar Express, which was an easy walk from this home. Our grandchildren were happy to find that it was decorated for Christmas. The house was very clean and is beautiful. We highly recommend.
The Hazel Home is so beautiful! We are amazed at the EVERY unique attention to detail that is provided! The owner, Ashley, has the most amazing talent to bring to life and preserve old houses that others overlook. Exceptionally clean and walking distance to everything- the Hazel House is perfect! You’ll love it like we do!!!
The Hazel House is the best rental property I have stayed at. I travel several times a year with three friends for girls weekends. We love the Bryson City area and for future trips will only book the Hazel House. The property is spotless and the owner goes above and beyond to ensure that it is well stocked. The location is great because you can walk to book stores, restaurants and other retail stores. If you are coming to Bryson City, you need to stay at Hazel House.
We loved everything about the house. Nice beds and linens, well stocked with everything we needed. We really liked the location. After a long drive, we loved that we could walk to anything we needed/wanted. Using the vehicle was completely optional.
This property is right on Main Street and convenient to everything. Historic house that has been beautifully renovated. It’s very comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a good book and watching the traffic go by. Wonderful place to come back to after a busy day. Will definitely be back.
This was our favorite vacation rental we’ve ever had, anywhere. The cute style, spotlessness, great location, comfort (including good mattresses!), amenities & thoughtful touches (umbrellas, games/toys, local coffee, diffuser of nice scents when we arrived) were perfect. Cannot say enough good things about this property & the nose! Can’t wait to go back next summer and will book early enough to make sure we get it.
The property was perfect. Two couples away for a mid week break. Loved the location of the house, right in downtown. The two king bed en suite bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The kitchen well equipped and plenty of relaxation space in the living room. The entry and exit instructions were clear and not onorous at all. It was a beautiful space and we enjoyed every minute.
Bryson City is the real deal if you are looking for a true western NC mountain experience. We rented the property for our residence during our daughters wedding. Perfect location, beautiful home, good food and wonderful people. My wife and I are VRBO owners and appreciate the work and effort the owners have put into the Hazel House. Hope to return next year.
This property should be 10/10! The Hazel House is gorgeous, all the owners touches are fabulous. Beds were super comfy. Great internet and YouTube TV. You have your own slice of heaven on Main Street with a fabulous bakery a couple doors down, BCO Brewery with a food truck for lunch or afternoon snack and tons of unique shops all within walking distance. You will not be disappointed - we loved it!
The Hazel House is the perfect home for a Bryson City get away. It is an easy walk to everything in town. The train, restaurants and shopping. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. We would definitely stay here again!
We loved this beautifully renovated home in the heart of Bryson City! Everything we needed, and we appreciated our experience in this gorgeous home!

We are two families who are committed to saving historic properties in Bryson City and completely restoring them from top to bottom. Sixty-One Park is our original Bryson City Farmhouse that was completed in 2018. Hazel House was completed in June 2021.
Why they chose this property
The Hazel House was owned by Bud and Hazel Jacks who ran H&B Jewelers next door. At risk for being torn down we purchased to property to fully restore it.
