Private island getaway

Hurricane Milton Update: Our home is now available to enjoy. Perfect island getaway centrally located on Little Gasparilla. Nestled quietly in the middle of all the island's tropical beauty, Paradise Beach house is located just steps from the beach and bayside/dock. For those of you who haven't been to LGI, you won't want to miss this unique kind of escape. Time spent here is like no other- stripped down to what is essential and natural, life becomes simple and easy to enjoy. The island is truly magical- you have to see for yourself. Whether you are on a family vacation or romantic getaway, Paradise beach house is the perfectly located, private stay, filled with relaxation and/or adventure. Our house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Master with a new king and 1/2 bathroom. 2nd bedroom with two brand new twins, one full bathroom and a pull out in the living room. Sleeps 4 comfortably and can sleep up to but no more than 6. You will need a water taxi (pirates water taxi, the do not like to book anything less than a week prior) or a boat to get to the island (Dock 51), the island is not accessible by car. Be it bitter sweet, long awaited Starlink provides strong reliable internet. There is island grocery delivery, but we recommend grocery shopping before crossing the bay. Trash service is provided at 3 kitchen size bags per week. Golf cart, kayak, and many other activities are available for rent. (Rentals are suspended as of now due to Milton) We are happy to discuss any further details should you choose to inquire.

-About Little Gasparilla Island and common questions:

Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. This little piece of paradise is only accessible by personal watercraft or water taxi. Pirates Water taxi can be reserved ahead of time by calling 941-697-5777. Cost is $20 (subject to change), which includes 2 people and luggage. Business hours are 8:30-5:30 and reservations are required.
We have Starlink internet! 200mbs+
If you're planning on bringing a boat, we have a dock space available which will accommodate up to a 26 foot boat ( size limit due to Florida laws) Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a boat.
We do not have a golf cart available for use and because of our close proximity to both the dock and beach one isn't needed, however, if you wish to rent one LGI Island Golf Cart can be reached at 941-607-3820. We recommend calling 2 weeks in advance to reserve.
There are no grocery stores or convenience stores on the island. While our home is well stocked with spices and condiments, you will need to plan ahead to bring your desired groceries and beverages. Our tap water is perfectly drinkable. There is an island grocery service, should you run out of something or forget a needed item.
Remember, this will be a vacation like no other- LGI is not a resort, it is an island with only private residences and because of the lack of shops and amenities, you will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the beaches, surroundings and time unlike anywhere else.
Just remember to pack light with clothes- heavy with food and beverages and we promise, you will be so pleased that you chose Little Gasparilla.

Island Family Retreat

What a great vacation. Little Gasparilla Island is a quiet, beautiful place to relax reunite with family. The boys fished all day and the girls (myself and the elderly family dog) relaxed on the beach. SUNSET was a time to gather on. The beach reconnect . Staying at the O'Connell's was a perfect mix of disconnecting from our busy lives while still having all the modern conviences including a great internet connection.

We were so happy to return to this beautiful and beloved place and thrilled to see how the island has recovered so well after last year's devastating hurricane. Location is wonderful, within a short walk to beach as well as to bay. Host was very prompt and helpful in his responses. The layout of the house is both spacious and intimate. There is a big screened in porch which affords a second living area. All in all we had a lovely time and would certainly return.

Great location and stay

This island does not disappoint. If you were looking to disconnect from technology in the busyness of life this is the place to go. The hosts were very communicative. I really had no need to reach out except for a couple clarifications. The only two things I would suggest for a future visitors is 1) use the foot wash basin or a hose to rinse your feet off before going up the stairs to the house to keep sand outside and 2) The grill is for charcoal use. Make sure to bring charcoal if you want to cook outside. I did not wear shoes the whole week I was down there. The neighbors and community are wonderful to visit and there’s a nice island chapel to worship out on Sundays.

The stay at the hose was very enjoyable. Very close to the beach and close to the dock so we did not have to carry our luggage far. Very quiet neighborhood. True island ambiance. Gorgeous palm trees around the house. We had perfect vacation time. Thank you!!!!

Dog Friendly Island

I had a wonderful stay on Little Gasparilla Island. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. My German shepherd had a blast hanging out with the neighbor dogs and playing on the beach. We stayed on the second floor of this home and it felt like a tree fort in the jungle. Loved the outdoor shower! It was very homey, convenient to the dock and close to the beach. The screen porch is awesome, although it was a little to cool when I was there so I didn't get to use it as much as I would have liked. The hosts were very responsive when I had questions before and during my stay. I rented a golf cart, and it was fun to buzz around on, but it really wasn't necessary. There isn't that far you can drive on the island. The beach was sparsely populated and we walked for hours everyday. No day trippers mobbing the place. If you are looking for relaxation and quiet, and friendly people, this is the place! Be sure to make reservations early for the water taxi, especially if you decide to go off island during your stay.

A Slice of heaven

Our family travels a lot but I have to say this trip was the most relaxing vacations. A short walk to the beach or a short walk to the docks. You can sit on the big porch and hear the waves. The outside shower was so convenient. Communication with the owner was amazing. We extended our stay we truly enjoy the peace and quite of this little island. Remember it is a Island there are bugs...just bring bug spray. When they say you need nothing but food and drinks that is truly all you need, pack light on clothes. There is a grill, we enjoyed grilling outside and eating on the porch. If you are looking for a relaxing laid back for get about it all I highly recommend this house... My family will be back.

What makes this property unique

This island is so unique, there really is no place like it. Nature abounds, turtles, sea life, lush tropical greenery and flowers, breathtaking beaches with unmatched sunrises and sunsets- There are no cars, there is no commerce so really, no distractions- which equals the chance to spend such high quality time with those you love and plenty of opportunity to make unforgettable memories.
