Fall Asleep to Sounds of Soothing Surf-Scituate Ma

Humarock, also known as the 4th cliff of Scituate, is a peninsula bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the South River. If you've ever been to the Jersey Shore, it is like that most important question of the day, 'the beach or the bay' except here it is the beach or the river, and depending on the tide, that can be a very important question!

Our home is located near the southern most end of this peninsula, a two minute walk from the dunes, a natural, protected habitat nestled directly between the ocean and the river. The dunes can be enjoyed via a walking path. The house is one dune lot back from the beach. Beach access is a 100 yd walk to a private opening.

You will enjoy OCEAN and RIVER VIEWS from the STEAMER CHAISES on the upper deck. You will enjoy the peaceful surrounding of the dunes and sunrise from the ADIRONDACKS on the lower deck, and views of SUNSET OVER THE RIVER from the front deck ROCKERS.

There is an OUTSIDE SHOWER with enclosure, and a paved, fenced side area adjacent to the back deck.

The area is great for walking, bike riding, rollerblading, etc as it is generally long and flat. Ice cream shops, restaurants, convenience store, gift shop, bait shop and marina's all within walking distance. You can walk the beach for miles, shell and fish to your heart's content.

We absolutely loved our stay. The home had everything we needed and then some, every room was comfortable and there was an amazing outdoor oasis with comfortable seating and a fire pit! The beach was so close we could hear the waves at night. A quick walk and we were on the most beautiful shore you could imagine with crystal clear water. We highly recommend!

Can’t wait to go back

This home was perfect. The neighborhood was beautiful and the people were friendly. The house was a perfect distance to the beach. I know keeping a beach house clean is difficult, but this home did an excellent job. The best part had to be the back decks. We didn’t want to leave. Hoping to book again for next year.

A wonderful week at the beach

We arrived and entered a spotless house, with detailed instructions on the kitchen island from the host. The kitchen was well laid out and had everything we needed as far as appliances, dishes, etc. A well laid out eating area and comfy living room had plenty of seating and were nicely decorated. With a full bath both up and down stairs as well as an outside shower, there was not waiting in the morning or getting back from the beach. The back deck area was very spacious and had a large amount of seating for dining as well as relaxing. The gas fire pit was a delightful bonus. Thoughtful touches like kids beach toys, lots of beach chairs, and other amenities (basement laundry, for one) meant that we could pack and travel light. It was a very short walk to a sandy beach that was never crowded. We had perfect weather all week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Out host was an excellent communicator, and was genuinely interested in insuring that we had a wonderful experience. A 10 out of 10 in all categories!

Perfect Location

We enjoyed our stay at Ocean Drive. The house had everything we needed. The location was perfect. My kids enjoyed the short walk to the small bridge and fishing on the river. Outdoor showers and dinners on the spacious deck were the perfect ending to our beach days.

Perfect spot just steps from the beach

Wasn't entirely sure what to expect, since there weren't a ton of photos. When we got there, however, we were very pleasantly surprised. Gorgeous house, perfect spot on quiet, low-traffic street, with a short walk to the beach that kept kids free from cars. Back deck is perfect for entertaining, reading or just hanging out. Plenty of beach chairs and toys. Outdoor shower is great, and downstairs finished basement was good for when the kids wanted to watch a movie. Everything we needed and more!

Beautiful week at Humarock

My family and I had a wonderful time at Humarock in this very comfortable beach home! It was so great that there was air conditioning as temps were in the 90’s. The cottage is steps from the beach, and it has a great upper deck where you can see the ocean. It is also close to the river. That doubles the fun!

Wonderful Summer Cottage

What a fabulous house!! We had a wonderful two weeks at this beach house. The location was perfect......only a couple steps to the beach entrance but perfect view and ambiance of the ocean right out the back door. Morning walks allowed you to hit the beach, the dunes or the river bank. Quick bike ride to dinner, donuts, general store and more. The house was decorated exactly like a beach house should be. The house was VERY clean and very well equipped. Ideal outside living.....many porches to choose from! Can't wait to go back next year.

Fantastic Beach Getway Home

We were so pleased with our stay at 8 Ocean Drive. From the moment I walked in, it smell and looked fresh and clean. The decor is beachy yet classy and somewhat fancy retro. I love the way Catherine decorates. The kitchen was open and spacious and the living room really comfortable and spacious. We appreciated that it had Central AC as it was a really hot week so a nice option for comfortable sleeping. My 16 year old son loved the finished basement at night so he could chill and do work on his computer or talk to friends on XBox. Having a full bath (with granite!) in the basement was such a nice option for people who didn't want to wait upstairs. My favorite part probably was the back deck which was not only wonderfully spacious but had a fabulous table that sat all of our guests at once. We could 12 or more at one time. So nice to just chill with family/friends after a fun day at the beach. My husband's favorite part was the outside shower. Very private and so convenient to keeping the sand down in the house. Catherine was so attentive to anything we needed and we appreciate her hospitality. Enjoy your stay!

We had a wonderful stay for two weeks! The house was beautiful and cozy-very accurately described in the write up. The house was very clean, and we were able to move right in! We love this end of the beach-the beach was quiet and we had plenty of room to spread out. Many restaurants and stores etc. were close and convenient. We love this house and plan to come back next summer.

Fall asleep to the soothing surf ...

Our stay was very enjoyable at this Humarock home. The house was exactally what we expected by the pictures. We had gorgeous weather and the walk to the beach was very short. We had friends come down who commented on the home and I would certainally recommend this to my friends in hopes that they may do the same rental in the future.

Enticing!

We had a wonderful week at the cottage! The beach was beautiful! Very convenient for my family and I to go down for short visits because of how close it is! The beach wasn't crowded so plenty of space to spread out! We loved waking up to the smell and sound of the ocean...that was the best part! We enjoyed evenings on the top deck where we would have wine and cheese while watching the surf. It was a very relaxing week. Can't wait to visit again!
