Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This 1920's Beach Bungalow is an easy 2 block walk to the beach and 3 blocks to downtown (dining and shopping). It is centrally located: the community pool, tennis courts and the Carpinteria State Beach Park are all within walking distance of a few blocks. Listen for the surf breaking when the swell is up. Enjoy beautiful mountain and sunset views from the front porch.

This Bungalow has the charm of an older home with wood floors and tile counters and is well cared for. You can spend a week here without once needing to drive anywhere. We have provided 2 surfboards and 2 boogie boards with towels and beach chairs for your use at the beach. Surf lessons can be arranged too. Carpinteria is one of the last remaining small California beach towns and is known for it's relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

If you want to explore further, Santa Barbara is only 15 minutes up the road and offers many options from museums, whale watching, harbor sight seeing, shopping, movies and excellent restaurants. The Santa Barbara Mission, the County Court House, and Lotus Land Botanical Gardens are some of the top destinations. Musical concerts at the County Bowl or local clubs like SoHo offer many choices too.

The owners, Don and Patti Campbell, live in the rear guest house and are available to help you have the best experience while here.

Quintessential beach house

  • 5 of 5

My group of six stayed in this welcoming home. This property is described as a bungalow, but the six of us never felt scrammed. With a great room and a patio, you always have a quiet space to hang out. I was a bit concerned of a couple of comments about the kitchen. Yes, the stove and oven are probably original but I take this gas powered appliance over an electric one any day. I baked a cake in the oven at 350F and it worked just like a modern one. The location is perfect, walking distance to the beach and 'downtown'. The owner welcomed us with warmth. I definitely will stay in this property again when I visit Carp.

It is a beautiful home, clean, detailed, nice neighborhood and close to the beach.

Patti is a wonderful host. She payed attending to lots of little details around the house. It was my wife's 50th and we had some people over for dinner. So it needed to be able to accommodate guests and be nice enough for an occasion like that. My wife was very happy with the decor and the feel of the place. Everything was beautiful and well thought out from the: soaps, the guest book, the surfboards etc, kitchen utensils, BBQ, wood floors, nice beds, beautiful landscaping, front porch with seats, ample parking, guest book with restaurants listed and tourist attractions, TV, close to beach (5 min walk), close to shopping etc. etc.

Patti texted me just enough to make sure everything was ok and to let me know that I could contact her at any time if needed.

This home was a little more expensive than the others I was looking at, but in the end it was worth it to get the right feel. Other places can be just a roof and a bed, this home made you feel the way you're supposed to feel when on vacation at the little beach resort town of Carpinteria

Very relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Carpinteria. We have visited Carpinteria dozens of times, and this has been one of the nicest places we have rented. The home was charming, well equipped, and very relaxing. We were within walking distance of the places we wanted to go to in town and the beach was very accessible as well. All of my expectations were met.

Thank you Patti and Don for the hospitality.

Great Place, Friendly Owners!

  • 5 of 5

This is a nicely appointed, three bedroom beach house walking distance to the ocean. Patti was great to work with. I was celebrating my 50th with some friends and we all agreed that the Palm Ave place was perfect for us. We cooked dinner, ate at the large dining table, enjoyed the morning sun out on the side patio, relaxed in the spacious living room and enjoyed our special time together. The owners provide plenty of towels, sheets and extra blankets, the kitchen is well equipped and they are nearby in case anything goes wrong. We had one squeaky bed that they promptly tightened while we were out on an adventure. The town of Carp (as we called it growing up) is so quaint and uncrowded and the beaches are beautiful. Thank you Patti for letting us stay at your wonderful home. We will be back.

Quite the gem

  • 5 of 5

We rented this adorable house for 4 nights and were so sad to leave it and this amazing town which we absolutely love. The house is perfectly located to the beach, stores and restaurants. What more can you ask for? And the owners could not have been any nicer and helpful.
