About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Whether you’re an adventurous traveler or one who likes nothing better than to unwind with a few good books during your well-earned vacation, our family’s hideaway, which backs up to the extraordinary Red Rocks of Sedona, will provide you with first-class accommodations at a price that’s within your reach.

From the pillow-top mattresses and the luxurious bed linens to the thick cotton towels in the bathrooms; from the great room’s warm kiva fireplace and flat screen TV to the well-stocked kitchen with all newer appliances and granite countertops, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how “Javelina Haven” brings you so much value for your traveling dollars.

This custom built, three-bedroom, two-bath Pueblo-style home is tucked away in the quiet, semi-rural “Coffee Pot” neighborhood near the rock formation of the same name. Our getaway is on Maxwell House Drive; you’ll see other streets carrying similarly vintage coffee brand names to carry out the theme: Sanborn, Farmer Brothers, Nescafe. Our major cross street, off Highway 89, is Coffee Pot Drive. It’s clear that those who laid out Sedona’s streets had some fun naming them!

We believe you’ll be enchanted by the West Sedona setting and wowed by the rock formations that tower over the little canyon that opens to our backyard. From the great room, breakfast nook, dining area, master bedroom and the wraparound patio you’ll see the formations known as Capitol Butte, Three Golden Chiefs and Sugarloaf. And scenic Sugarloaf Trailhead, which provides hiking and mountain bike access to a host of trails, is less than two short blocks away from our vacation home.

Get away from it all. Enjoy a stay at Javelina Haven.

About Gil and Carol Cormaci

We are Gil & Carol Cormaci and we are both native Southern Californians. Our primary residence is in the foothills north of Pasadena, Calif. We bought our home in Sedona to have a getaway in the Red Rock Country of Arizona. Gil loves to hike. When we're vacationing there he's up very early to take hikes before breakfast. (Our house is just a short walk from the Sugarloaf Trailhead.) Carol is fascinated by the ancient Native American ruins that can be found all over Northern Arizona, and loves the fact the house can be a base for such explorations. We're both inspired by the extraordinary beauty of Sedona.

Why Gil and Carol Cormaci chose Sedona

The semi-rural setting of our house, which we've nicknamed 'Javelina Haven,' provides a quiet, private place in which we can unwind. Yet, just a few minutes away are two well-stocked supermarkets and all the other services and amenities one might expect in an average-sized city, including restaurants, movie theaters, golf courses, art galleries, shopping opportunities and more, all surrounded by the amazing scenery.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to let you know we had a wonderful stay at Javelina Haven. The home is beautiful and clean and relaxing. We did have a herd of Javelina come and visit one evening. Not ever hearing of them before we thought it was exciting to see. Sedona is a beautiful place we did hiking, pink jeep tour and atv riding - twice. Thank you for all the information, all directions to and for the house were complete. We did have dinner at Dahl and DiLuca, the service and food was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home and Sedona. If we do return to Sedona we will look up Javelina Haven as our preferred place to stay.

Thanks for everything these accommodations certainly contributed to our success vacation.

Beautiful Cozy Home in Sedona

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Three siblings and spouses coming from 3 different states met in Sedona for a reunion. The house was very comfortable and roomy. We loved having morning coffee and our evening happy hour on the private back patio with a lovely view and free bird concerts. Fantastic hiking was right in our back yard and we didn't have to drive anywhere to be in those beautiful red rocks. If we ever come back to Sedona we would definitely want to stay in this home again! The owners have thought of everything...even walking sticks and backpacks for visitors to use. We'd highly recommend this home.

Owner's Response: It's so gratifying to know our "Javelina Haven" turned out to be the ideal spot for another sibling reunion. It seems to be a magnet for such gatherings. We're glad you found the items we have on hand for those who want to explore the local trails, including those hiking sticks and backpacks. We hope some of you climbed nearby Sugarloaf to take in the vista from there. Most importantly, we're glad you had the opportunity to gather together from your various home states to create memories in beautiful Sedona! You'll be able to savor those for a long time. Thanks for having been wonderful guests.

As good as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The Javelina Haven was a great home base for Sedona, Flagstaff and Grand Canyon. Not only was the house fantastic, it is close to everything. While there we hiked, jeeped (thanks Barlow), visited the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Walnut Canyon and Lava Flow Cave. A great week. Thanks to Gil and Carol for a great home.

Quaint, comfortable, and Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We chose Javelina Haven rental house this year for our family vacation. Were we ever in for a big and wonderful surprise! The house had everything we needed for our 4-day stay, including a high chair and baby pen for our one year-old twins. There was plenty of room for everyone to do things solo or for us to gather in the great room/dining area to talk and enjoy one another. Having the trail heads just outside our door was an added plus, and the owners had foresight to consider having backpacks, walking sticks, and extra water bottles to entice us into several hikes that week. We discovered so much beauty at our fingertips! The house had a two car garage that was perfect for times it rained outside (we vacationed at Monsoon season). We will definitely consider this place again in the future for our family events! EAG

This was the PERFECT place!

  • 5 of 5

Besides the house being the perfect layout and size, the property's back yard was awesome in the mornings and evenings to watch birds and bats and simply be outside. It had great views and was very close to great hikes. Location, location, location!!

Great home with easy access to Sedona hiking

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 enjoyed the spacious home in quiet area of Sedona. The home was well stocked in the kitchen and misc supplies. Loved the information for trails, maps, and restaurant menus for guests and supply of water in the fridge for our hikes. We took advantage of the trailhead nearby to go on hikes starting at the house.

Convenient grocery stores and restaurants just 1/2 mile away. Downtown is almost 3 mile drive but even with holiday weekend we found free public parking. We actually made the walk one morning with sidewalk all the way.

Would stay again for future Sedona getaway.

Only suggestion is patio furniture cushions could use replacing for new padding and more comfort.

Sedona Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay at Gil and Carol's house in Sedona. I could walk to trails from the house and restaurants and stores were an easy drive. There were also many small extras that make life easy and save a few dollars at the same time -- too many to name, but things that make it feel like home. I would recommend this house.
