About this property
Eclectic Mountain Home with Gorgeous Valley View on 7 Acres
Enjoy the surroundings in this light and bright mountain getaway nestled in the valley on 7 acres just 20 minutes from Asheville. New appliances and furniture, stocked kitchen, and a top-notch view make this spot a memorable stay for days, weeks, or months. It's a quiet spot on a lazy road, the wifi is fast, and there's land to roam.
I've spent the last year giving this open-concept mountain home a facelift. It is now outfitted with maple floors, new paint, fixtures, and brand new kitchen.
It's a bright space with tons of sun pouring in from the windows during the day, but darkens up at night so you can enjoy the stars.
In the summer enjoy picking berries and wildflowers from right outside the door. The road is quiet with long stretches of time with no cars passing.
My home is decorated with treasures found in the woods (nests, bones, and rocks) as well as antique family relics. All bed linens and towels are natural fibers - linen or cotton, and mattresses are brand new. All pillows and comforters are down. Each bedroom has room darkening curtains and a ceiling fan with remote.
The great room shares a space with the kitchen. Cathedral ceilings with a ceiling fan keep the air moving while you look out across the valley through the large sliding glass doors.
The 6-burner Cafe range is a delight to cook upon with a variety of cast iron and enameled cookware. Kitchen basics are provided with a variety of oils, spices, and condiments on hand. Once you get out here, you don't want to go back to town.
There is a large wooden dining table with plenty of chairs. Also, a Sonos sound system for listening to music and podcasts through the wifi network. Cell phone service is iffy, so Wifi is a necessity. The large basement is partially finished with a huge sectional and TV. The unfinished portion of the basement acts as storage and laundry facilities.
This home truly shines due to the phenomenal valley it sits upon. Watch the morning fog roll in and out. Enjoy the dramatic sunrises and sunsets. The stars really are extra bright out here. Walk the country roads to see what the farmers are growing and visit with the livestock. It's really delightful to escape the hustle of Asheville after a long day shopping/ Biltmore-ing/ hiking to land out here in the valley.
Although you can get Uber/Lyft drivers out here, I strongly recommend having a personal reliable vehicle on hand. Bring your bike and ride the rural pastoral land around my home. There is little food delivery to my address. But, there is a kick ass kitchen with all you need to whip up some family favorites (or microwave some leftovers).
I have a new 65" TV in the basement with a large sectional. This is a cozy cinema-type space with it's own gas stove unit. Curl up and watch your favorite shows. Please note that I do not have a TV provider, but it is a smart TV, so plan to login to all your favorite apps for taking advantage of this TV.
My home is not your typical vacation rental. It is personal. It is lived-in. It's not an investment property that has been flipped to look like a hotel suite. It's an intentional space where you're invited to page through books, build a fire in the fire pit, cook a delicious meal, and look at stars. It's also a place with very reliable internet, a great desk workspace, and therefore is comfortable for longer stay for folks who work from home (as do I ). It's also in a super quiet section of the valley. I appreciate the lack of traffic, the convenience of a major grocery store 12 minutes away, and the expansive yard. It's a special home with great neighbors, and tons of character.
Well-behaved pets are welcomed into my space, as I know how important it is to have a comfortable place to sleep while traveling with an animal in-tow. I have a large yard that pets love. Animals are not to be invited on the furniture or bedding. They must be crated if left alone in the home. If excessive cleaning is required due to pets, cleaning is billed at $30 per hour. All pets must be pre-approved prior to arrival. I so ask for an additional pet fee due to the additional cleaning that is required after pet visitors.
