Northstar is a premier ski resort in Northern California, offering year round family fun--skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, shopping and much more in the winter; golf, horseback riding, swimming, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, and more in the summer! Year round there are fabulous restaurants! The home is 12 minutes from Lake Tahoe and boating; 15 minutes from the casinos; and 12 minutes from the wonderful old western town of Truckee, California.

Our home is wonderful for entertaining large groups. There is plenty of cozy seating in the great room for everyone to gather and be together with two large sectional couches. This home is cozy, cozy, cozy--set in the woods, with 3 fireplaces, open floor plan on the main floor between the kitchen, family room, and dining area. Very easy free shuttle access to all sports, restaurants and shopping at the NorthStar Village. There is a great hill to sled down directly off the back deck. Sleds can be found in the garage.

The home has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, and a bonus room . We built it for our expanding family and love to share it with larger groups in mind.
*Two bedrooms are primary suites with King Beds and private bathrooms--one master has a fireplace and TV.
*Three bedrooms have Queen beds.
*Bonus room great for young family or the teens.

The large bonus room is like its own apartment, on its own floor, has a large screen television, fireplace, and a sectional sofa and comfy chairs. Plus a 6 seat table. Because its own separate floor, kids can enjoy while adults can still supervise their fun. With wi-fi, television programs, movies, games, etc. and its own full bathroom. We often use it for remote working as it allows privacy.

Space was Great for family time. Transportation takes you to and from Northstar with easy access pick up at house. Bunk beds were not available. Everything else was amazing!! I would stay here again!

Location was great. Convenience to skiing Northstar is great. Amenities could be better - e.g., no hot tub, no ski closet or racks in or near entry, no boot bench, etc. for skiers. Many rooms don’t have overhead lighting. Bring extension cords for plugs on bedrooms. No shampoo or conditioner.

Family Reunion Getaway

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful Northstar home. Positives: Beautiful and spacious great room and kitchen with 2 very large comfy sectionals and nice appliances. Plenty of kitchen essentials provided such as trash bags, ziplock bags, and cleaning supplies. The host was very responsive with any questions that we had. Negatives: a little worn around the edges, no dressers in the bedrooms and the closets were quite full of the owners belongings so not much room there to put suitcases etc. Overall, I would recommend the home because it's a beautiful home with very large enjoyable spaces to spend time together with your family or friends.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. We had 14 family and there was plenty of room and a great location. The only suggestion o have is there was not any where for us to put our clothes closets were full amd no drawers anywhere. Otherwise everything was amazing!!

Great house for family gatherings

We loved this home. The great room and kitchen are very spacious, with 2 generous seating areas for visiting and hanging out. The kitchen had all the cooking supplies you could ask for. Beds were really comfortable and the bonus room was a huge plus. We highly recommend! North Star also has a fantastic rec center with multiple pools plus gym, tennis, pickle ball, playground, hot tubs and more. Great home and great location.

Perfect location for our needs

I can't say enough positive about this property. It brought my entire family together for a wedding that was about a mile away- so very convenient. The beds were extremely comfortable, the amenities were plentiful and perfect for our needs. The children staying had a great time playing outside and going on nature walks. Awesome Family House in North Star

Wonderful property, great location and responsive and attentive owner! Our family of 9 stayed there including three married couples so plenty of space. Huge well equipped kitchen and great room area are perfect for big family and playing games and relaxing. Detailed instructions for everything and Jeff went above and beyond to take care of us even after we departed! Location to ski was awesome as the shuttle stops right in front of house and is 2 minutes from Village.

Great for a large group

If you are looking for a place for a large group and easy access to Northstar, this place fits the bill. Plenty of room to spread out and the shuttle bus to the resort stops just in front of the house. The owner responds quickly and is helpful and easy to work with. We encountered one of the biggest winter storms in decades. All roads in and out of the area were closed for days and he worked with us to extend our stay until we were able to safely return home. Would stay again!

Great layout and size

This house was great for a large group. I really liked the design and style. There were a few maintenance and cleanliness issues. The outside deck could use an update. The use of the Northstar recreation area was a big bonus.

Why they chose this property

Northstar is now the premier ski and summer resort in Northern California, offering year round family fun--skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, and much more in the winter; golf, horseback riding, swimming, tennis, mountain biking, hiking and more in the summer! Year round there are fabulous restaurants! Since Vail Resorts took over, it's a premier Tahoe resort place for all. The home is 12 minutes from Lake Tahoe and boating; 15 minutes from the casinos; and 8 minutes from the wonderful old western town of Truckee, California. Free Bus service to anywhere in the NorthStar village or area. Downtown Truckee and the surrounding areas have great dining, shopping, plus wonderful choices for grocery and specialty foods. If you want to go to Reno or the Reno-Tahoe Airport, its only 45 minutes. If you would rather ski at Palisades (formally Squaw Valley), Alpine, Donner, Sugar Bowl or Boreal and try night ski- all are a 20 minute drive. At Boreal is Woodward- an indoor skate snowboard type training and play facility year round.

What makes this property unique

The home has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and we built it with larger group in mind, much like our family of 5 daughters and now all their spouses and kids. Meaning, there is plenty of cozy seating in the great room for everyone to gather and be together at the main floor that has 4 areas where all can parallel play i one open space. There is also a huge bonus room on a separate floor for the kids to enjoy their movies and games. The bonus room has a fireplace, Seating, tables, its own restroom and fireplace where kids play or adults for private working remote.

Our home is wonderful for entertaining and privacy. A one minute free bus ride to the village. There is plenty of cozy seating in the great room for everyone to gather and be together with two large sectional couches creating their own space.
