We had a wonderful time in this unique home. The house was in awesome shape and the owners even provided us with complimentary wine and bread! The setting was so lovely and we hiked daily. There is a lot to do close by in Black Mountain! We'd stay here again!

So glad you enjoyed your time here Katrina! We welcome you both back anytime!
This property is fairly secluded in the woods and was a peaceful stay. Would recommend. The property manager left us some welcoming items, which was a nice touch.
I enjoyed my stay here for two nights. Definitely make sure you're ok with stairs given the split level (bed is up the stairs from the main level, and bathroom is on main). Host was very kind and great to deal with.
Super location and cozy place. We loved the woody surroundings with the beautiful laurels. Please know the bedroom is located upstairs, and the bathroom downstairs, so that may be an issue for some people.
Very nice. Was sent great directions from the host about things to do in the surrounding area. Was also given a welcoming present from their local bakery, which was a nice touch. House was clean and everything worked inside. Overall a great place to stay!
We loved winding down from Christmas and preparing for the new year over a couple of days here. Black mountain was lovely, as was the comfy and warm cabin. Very grateful!
We were in awe of the detail of this cabin. From the welcoming gate to an outdoor bar/firepit to the exquisite detail of every turn inside the cabin, we just loved it! The overall feel is very secluded but it's located a short 1.5 miles to fantastic dining, shops and local fare. Directly across the road from a golf course made lovely walked for our Frenchie in the mornings. We have already recommended and will definitely return when we are in the area!
My stay at the Migration Station was exactly what I needed. Just outside of town so that felt surrounded by nature yet had access to stores and the like as needed. The house itself is beautiful, from the porch overlook to the wood inlays throughout the rest of the house. Communication with the owner was always quick in terms of response time and helpful. My stay was too short and I look forward to staying here again in the future.
The cabin is ideal for a couple that desires relaxation and seclusion. The cabin is very cool with beautiful inlaid flooring and the fine wooden craftmanship is everywhere you look. The deck and immediate outside area reminds me of Bali, Indonesia. The cottage is showing some wear, but is still beautiful and must have been incredible some years ago. Very easy drive to get downtown wich is abundant of restaurants and many small stores and shops. Our host, Kellin, ensured that we felt welcome and was responsive to any questions or assistance. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin is not ideal for older people. Parking is difficult as you have to back into a spot on a curve and hill in the driveway. The bedroom is upstairs and the bath is downstairs. It was not dirty but needs some TLC. The owners were very nice and helped with a couple of issues that came up. The cabin had all the supplies we needed. It was a good location. Town was close by with a lot of shops and places to eat. Loved Black Mountain.

I’m so sorry to hear you were uncomfortable with the set up of our home & it did not meet your standards. We try very hard to make our guests as comfortable as possible and have put a lot of tlc into the migration station, and I’m sorry that did not translate for you and your wife.
If you could please pay the pet fee that you disregarded upon booking, we would greatly appreciate it! Happy trails to you and your wife, and thanks for staying with us.
Migration Station is one of the most lovely, restful, and aesthetically pleasing places I have ever been in my life, which is saying something given my age and how many places I have traveled to in my lifetime. . Everything from kind and thought-filled connection/correspondence to the beauty and spirit of the place itself made this one of the most delightful and restful stays I have ever enjoyed via Vrbo. I was attending a conference that takes place every three years and honestly I can’t wait to return to this lovely, gracious and beautiful place.three years from now. The conference I attend is work— but this place, which is located not far from where the conference occurs? Honestly it’s the primary reason I look forward to returning to NC. Beauty. Simplicity. Hospitality. Welcome home!
