I am a retired judge/attorney who moved to the Rocky Mountains of Boulder in 1994 for semi-retirement with my yellow lab 'Cassidy' after conducting a world-wide search for the ideal place to live. The vast mountain ranges - the great variety of activities -- sports and cultural events of the University of Colorado at Boulder - easily accessible Big City activities of Denver - breath-taking mountain views - friendly people - total privacy in my mountain retreat - these things do not allow me to live anywhere else in this whole wide world.

Thank you for allowing me to stay in your lovely Rocky Mountain home. This is a wonderful place. I had the whole house all to myself, at less cost than a hotel suite.
For more than 30 years, ever since I was a 14-year-old kid, I dreamed of sleeping under the stars in the night sky of the Rocky Mountains. I was finally able to do so, if only for a long weekend. But I will be back!
The three big skylights in the master bedroom did the trick. I saw so many stars, and even airplanes, that I could hardly sleep.
You gave a long-awaited gift to a 44-year-old kid. Thanks for helping this little boy live his dream.
We stayed at this private and very comfortable home for 5 days in early August, 2016. The house has beautiful views from 3 different decks as well as from about every window in the cabin. The den has huge floor to ceiling windows. The house is about 5 miles from Nederland, which is a must visit.
My friends and I had a great stay here. A walk to the meadow is a great way to start the day. The skylights and great room windows give the place an abundance of natural light. It is roomy without feeling overwhelmingly big. Although there were six of us and only three bedrooms, the couch and some extra cushioned mats served as beds for the three others. The deck is a nice place to hang out, as well. The host is very accommodating; I appreciated how communicative he was. The only downside was that the hot tub was not working; the host had scheduled a repair for it, but it was to happen after our stay. He did well to let us know ahead of time, and even checked to see if a neighbor could let us use his tub. Overall, I'd recommend it to others.

Our family, the Greene Family from Illinois, recently spent an enjoyable week on Sugarloaf Mountain 8,200+ feet above Boulder and Denver, a private residence which is only available for rental about 5 to 10 times each year.
Sugarloaf Retreat is a spacious mountain home with unbelievable views of snow-capped mountains of the Continental Divide out the large front windows and a private trail out the back door into the Roosevelt National Forest. A five-minute walk took us to a stadium-sized meadow we enjoyed both for solitude and hiking. It is an area of nature populated only by animals in the wild.
We saw a "gang" of about 75 Elk in the meadow one day, and droppings from other wild animals. They move together like water flowing in a river. Beautiful.
We spent part of our time simply relaxing in peace and quiet in the large contemporary residence, enjoying the hot tub, sauna, decks, balconies, large kitchen, great room and 3,000 shining stars at night in the pitch black sky with no light pollution.
We spent the other part of our time safely driving winding mountain roads with incredible vista, taking Peak-to-Peak Highway north to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain Park, and to the south the small gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City.
Our children and us adults returned a number of times to the mountain town of Nederland about 5 miles away to ride the "Carousel of Happiness, an unbelievable merry-go-round-in-the-mountains ($1 a ride) with the animals carved over a 25-year period, a destination in itself visited by people from all over America.
Boulder is less than a half-hour away from the residence via a beautiful winding mountain road. We spent a day in the City visiting the walkable campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder, the Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall, and the free Celestial Seasons Tea tour, and had a hard time choosing from a large selections of restaurants and shops.
Our family had such a great time in the Boulder area that we decided there was no need to travel a half-hour to Denver, although the great variety of activities there appeared tempting.
Although our family likes to visit different areas of the country each year for vacation, we will be returning to Sugarloaf Retreat.
I stayed at Bill's stunning property for 3 nights to celebrate my 30th birthday with a few friends. The location was perfect for day trips to Rocky Mountain National Park and Boulder. We adored every aspect of the retreat and 4 people was the perfect number (one couple, two singles) for our purposes. Even when we discovered that we didn't have hot water, Bill was quick to send a repairman out to the property and get everything taken care of. I definitely plan to find a time to return to this property as soon as possible!
Extraordinary property with a view of snow-capped mountains and quiet walks through a sweeping mountain valley. My wife, adult children and I spent four delightful days at Bill's mountain home and were thrilled. The property is comfortable and feels like home. It is centrally located to allow day trips into Boulder, morning sojourns into Nederland for coffee and a spectacular drive up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Bill's home is set up to reward both those looking to actively explore and those of us who wanted to sit in the solitude and reflect on life. I strongly recommend Bill's property and look forward to a future visit.
