This house has really impressed my family. It’s clean. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. It feels like a high end hotel. The supplies are plenty. Kitchen wears are very nice. The most impressive part is the backyard. It’s beautiful and has everything. I can just sit there the whole day. Communication is on time and helpful!Thank you!
We had a very comfortable stay. The home is well-appointed with thoughtful amenities throughout. Timothy was easy to communicate with and responsive to our needs. We would stay here again.
This property was beautiful and exactly what our family needed for a weekend getaway. Timothy really thought of everything in all the perks of this rental, including a coffee bar that impressed my barista daughter. Kayaking down the canal was so much fun and I appreciated the step by step instructions since it was my first time. Everything was clean and comfortable and entertaining for our multi-generational party. My dad loved listening to the old records on the record player…another perk!Timothy was very communicative and answered any questions we had quickly and thoroughly. He was an excellent host and house was everything we hoped for.
House was amazing. It’s was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable. The host thought of providing every creature comfort, from a well stocked coffee/tea bar to full bathing amenities. Outside is a quiet, large, beautiful patio overlooking a canal with snowy egrets to greet guests. There’s a huge playground across the street for families to enjoy.
We had a wonderful stay in this spacious and gracious house--a perfect place to relax, and also a great base from which to explore Marin County. There were three of us, but the house could easily accommodate 6 or more guests (though be aware that every guest beyond two incurs an extra fee). Everything was immaculately clean, comfortable, and welcoming; the patio and dock overlooking the lagoon made the house seem far away from the congestion of downtown San Rafael. We especially appreciated being able to bring our son's dog with us. Communication with the owner was quick and clear.
We had a wonderful stay at Timothy's place! The home is beautiful and in a nice, safe and quiet neighbourhood, but still close to amenities. The home was
The property is impeccably maintained. There was a notebook waiting in the foyer, and that helped answer any questions. Timothy was responsive when we had trouble with the keyless front door lock. Be assured that it's easy to use and the trouble was user error. I was the user erring. :-) There is a lovely park across the street, and upon arrival we wondered if the noise would be disturbing. It was not. At all. Once in the door, it was quiet inside. And the park turned out to be a bonus. We loved strolling there. The living room, den, kitchen, dining room, and primary bedroom all have views of the canal. The back deck is huge and has its own attached dock. The deck is open,, with two covered areas and umbrellas. It is well-appointed with cushioned chairs, lounges, dining table/chairs, firepit, and a gas grill. There are kayaks, a SUP board, and fishing poles, It was easy to walk the kayaks to the attached dock, and chairs to enjoy coffee on the water.Back to the home. Spacious. Light. Airy. Comfortable, Tastefully decorated with beach and boat elements, perfect for the location and style of the home. The upstairs primary offers privacy, with an en suite bath is upstairs, The downstairs guest rooms suited two of our adult children spent a couple of days to celebrate a birthday.Although my profile makes it look as if this is our first VRBO (my original profile was gone), we have rented many properties over the years. We can say from experience, this one is a winner!
Well appointed home, with lots of welcoming extras. Rooms are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. Being on the water is beautiful, made better by the lovely sitting areas on the gorgeous deck. Easy access to so many wonderful places. We'd certainly stay there again if we are in the area.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
The location and layout of this property work very well. The adjacency to the waterway is lovely, and the outdoor deck and main living room make for great family gathering spaces.Unfortunately, there were several negatives that we did not expect. The house could really use some decluttering and a more thorough cleaning. The main areas were clean, but many of the nooks, surfaces, and extra items throughout the house felt dusty and cluttered. Both toilets had not been properly cleaned, which seems like a basic expectation. Some ants were present in the kitchen due to some crumbs that hadn't been cleaned out properly. The biggest issue for us was an unpleasant smell throughout the house—something like an old motel. It is hard to describe exactly, but you know it when you smell it. I don't consider myself overly picky or difficult, but I am sensitive to dust and odors, and we seriously considered leaving early. After a few days of airing out the house, the smell mostly faded. The property managers were prompt to help us get into the property when we had trouble opening the door, but when we contacted them about the cleanliness issues and asking for an early leave, they never responded.

Response from VrboOwner on Oct 3, 2026
Monica,
I’m sorry the stay did not meet your expectations.
When you raised these concerns on August 5, we responded that same day, asked you to send the photos you said you had already taken, and offered to have someone come inspect and address the issues. We received no response to that offer during your stay.
The photos were not provided until September 1, 24 days after checkout, when you were again seeking money from us. You stated that everyone had left on August 6 at 2:00 PM, two days early, and sought a refund for those supposedly unused nights. Our timestamped records instead showed continued occupancy through August 8, and also documented an additional unregistered adult arriving and staying at the property after your original complaints.
You also told us you wanted our response before finalizing your review. We continued responding and investigated your refund request, and this review was submitted after that request was denied because the property records did not support the early-departure claim.
We take guest concerns seriously and always appreciate the opportunity to inspect and correct an issue while a guest is still at the property.
Nice home, more of a residential area than we thought it would be but quiet neighborhood. Lots of "in the city" rules but overall a good place to stay.
Well-equipped, comfortable house. Responsive host. Wonderful deck! We enjoyed having the kayaks available. Weather in San Rafael was great for the duration of our stay.
Beautiful and centrally located! Close enough to still enjoy San Francisco. The home is immaculate. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you for the hospitality! Also, there is a nice play ground across the street if traveling with children.
