About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Adorable privately owned, custom-built log cabin has 1,400+ square feet and is situated on 3 wooded, secluded acres, yet is just 15 minutes from quaint historic downtowns in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, including Blue Ridge. Entering on a specially built ramp (wheelchair and powerchair accessible), the door opens into a large great room with cathedral ceiling. The fully equipped kitchen--microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and panini grill--has a farmhouse table that seats 6. The living room, complete with ceiling fan, is furnished with a large sofa and oversized chair and 48' flat screen HDTV with satellite service, DVR, DVD and wall-mounted stereo speaker system. It opens onto a covered porch that runs the length of the cabin and is cooled by 3 ceiling fans helping the mountain breeze; a perfect place to enjoy the quiet woods while resting in Amish-crafted rockers. Above the living room is a loft furnished with matching twin beds, nightstand and dresser. The master bedroom, furnished with antiques, original art and a queen-sized iron bed, has access to the screened section of the porch through lovely French doors, fitted with adjustable shades for privacy. The bathroom is equipped with a handicap shower with removable shower head, seat and railings. All doorways on the main floor are 36' wide. One side of the furnished basement has a full-size, regulation pool table, air hockey table and two counter-height chairs. The other side has a queen-sized Murphy bed, 37-inch HDTV with built-in DVD player and satellite and DVR service as well as a full bath.

Perfect peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and property! The cabin is cozy and perfect setting for me, my friend and my senior dog. The basement is carpeted and opens right into the fenced backyard which is very convenient. The walk outside from the basement to the main floor was fairly easy for the dog. It's a very quiet setting and not too far away from Blue Ridge for shopping and groceries. We walked the trail from the backyard down to the creek and enjoyed the short hike. Larry is very nice and friendly host. He's close by and is very respectful of your privacy.

Little Cabin in the Woods is wonderful for families

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Larry and Joyce, for sharing your little cabin with us. It is, despite the name, quite a spacious, clean and welcoming cabin. Everything was provided for, right down to a coffee grinder for fresh coffee (we like our fresh-ground coffee) and a set of Magic Tree House books and air hockey for our son and daughter to enjoy in his and her downtime. A couple of hints to make your stay enjoyable -- the cabin is quite secluded and the trail quite steep at times, so you may want to plan for arrival and returns before it gets dark. We wish we could have stayed longer to really enjoy the view from the back and the firepit amenities, but it was too cold! Might plan a return visit for the future! My father-in-law, who had hip surgery several months ago, found the arrangements very comfortable and convenient.

Charming, cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is just perfect for a mountain getaway. It has everything you will need. We were a little late getting in and Joyce was coming back from turning the light on for us. She was so welcoming and helpful. With my wife on a walker, the setup was perfect. Also, very pet friendly!

Exceptionally comfortable bed in master. The kitchen was well equipped. Wish we had more time to spend at The Little Cabin in the Woods. Thank you Larry and Joyce!

Wonderful cabin

  • 5 of 5

The Little Cabin in the Woods exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful get away. My Mother uses a wheelchair and the cabin worked perfectly for our needs. The kitchen was equipped beautifully and included everything we needed including a coffee grinder! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We would love to return to the cabin often.
