About Cathy Cox-Brakefield
We just celebrated our twenty-fifth anniversary, having moved to Blue Ridge, my hometown, in 2001, after spending most of our prior adult years in the Atlanta area. We lived in our first vacation cabin for two years and then moved into our new home on my family's farm just outside town. We have two grown sons who live in the Atlanta and Athens area. On the farm our babies are our two dogs, three cats, and three "fainting' goats. By the end of 2015, we will both be retired from long legal careers and focus our efforts on our three vacation rental properties.
Cathy Cox-Brakefield purchased this Bungalow in 2015
Why Cathy Cox-Brakefield chose Blue Ridge
This house was previously owned by a family friend. I went with a colleague who was house hunting to look at it. She decided that it wasn't for her, but I fell in love. The house is charming and in one of Blue Ridge's original in town neighborhoods, just steps from the excitement of downtown. Having hosted visitors for over two years at Cox Farmnhouse, I have a vision that couples and young families will love the option of.staying in the very convenient location within minutes of walking to shops, parks, restaurants, the library, and art galleries. The Swan, one of Georgia's last and longest operating drive-in theaters, is only a few blocks away.
What makes this Bungalow unique
With its original hardwood floor in the main living room, and charming cottage feel, this gem will be the perfect vacation spot for two couples or a family with up to three children. The living room is light and airy with a large adjoining deck for grilling and outdoor seating. The great room provides space for guests to cook, dine, and watch tv or relax while being in the same space. The lovely tiled sunroom just off the great room provides additional seating and dining space. Full laundry facilities with a large laundry sink and an extra toilet in the basement provide extra convenience.

Wonderful home with all acccomodations. Perfect location in great neighborhood
I had a great stay and this lovely house was a quick walk to the cute shops and great restaurants in downtown Blue Ridge. I would love to stay here again at my next visit to BR.
Thank you! We would love to have you stay with us again.
We had a blast
The location was perfect. We were able to walk to downtown and felt very safe. The house was nice and quite. The beds slept great. I would stay here again.
Charming, cozy and only couple minutes walk to restaurants and shops
House sits on a hill. Has a great sunroom overlooking tree canopies and mountains, perfect for reading and relaxing while listening to church bells, birds and crickets. The house is two blocks from Main street. Everything worked well (washer, drier, TV, hot water, etc). Very relaxing place to spend a week. I really enjoyed it, so did my wife and 2 years old son.
Thank you for your nice review. We are pleased that your family enjoyed our cozy downtown property.
Weekend get away!
Had a great time, loved staying here, so convenient to down town blue ridge, quite, peaceful and very roomy , and Cathy was so nice to work with, will be staying here again.
Loved it!!! Great Location and Felt Right at Home
We loved the house in Blue Ridge! The location is perfect. We walked just a few blocks to all that Downtown Blue Ridge has to offer. It was also only a 7 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Marina at Lake Blue Ridge. The owners thought of everything that you could ever want or need while you stay in their adorable home. They were also very attentive and checked in to make sure that we had arrived and to see if we needed anything. Awesome hospitality! 5 Well Deserved Stars!!!
It’s folks like you that make it such fun to host travelers. We rent when we travel, so we try to provide the amenities that we look for in our vacation rental homes. You are welcome back anytime. Thanks so much for your review and choosing us.
Close to shopping area and train station. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Stayed for 5 weeks. Cathy and Gary were gracious and sincerely concerned at all times that we were doing OK. They consistently maintained the property so that it was well kept up at all times. Large master bedroom was a big plus. Laundry room saved us going to the local laundromat. Sun room was very cozy. Kitchen was nice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat under similar circumstances. Was a most positive experience! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and were glad to meet you and your BR family. Hope to see you again when you come back to visit.
