Three bedroom, one bath walking distance to downtown Blue Ridge attraction
About Cathy Cox-Brakefield
We just celebrated our twenty-fifth anniversary, having moved to Blue Ridge, my hometown, in 2001, after spending most of our prior adult years in the Atlanta area. We lived in our first vacation cabin for two years and then moved into our new home on my family's farm just outside town. We have two grown sons who live in the Atlanta and Athens area. On the farm our babies are our two dogs, three cats, and three "fainting' goats. By the end of 2015, we will both be retired from long legal careers and focus our efforts on our three vacation rental properties.

Why Cathy Cox-Brakefield chose Blue Ridge
This house was previously owned by a family friend. I went with a colleague who was house hunting to look at it. She decided that it wasn't for her, but I fell in love. The house is charming and in one of Blue Ridge's original in town neighborhoods, just steps from the excitement of downtown. Having hosted visitors for over two years at Cox Farmnhouse, I have a vision that couples and young families will love the option of.staying in the very convenient location within minutes of walking to shops, parks, restaurants, the library, and art galleries. The Swan, one of Georgia's last and longest operating drive-in theaters, is only a few blocks away.
What makes this Bungalow unique
With its original hardwood floor in the main living room, and charming cottage feel, this gem will be the perfect vacation spot for two couples or a family with up to three children. The living room is light and airy with a large adjoining deck for grilling and outdoor seating. The great room provides space for guests to cook, dine, and watch tv or relax while being in the same space. The lovely tiled sunroom just off the great room provides additional seating and dining space. Full laundry facilities with a large laundry sink and an extra toilet in the basement provide extra convenience.

Convenience in town walking distance to shops and restaurants and comfortable!
If you like to be close to shopping and restaurants in BLUE RIDGE, this is your home! Within walking distance to great shops, restaurants and the Blue Ridge railway. Located in a quiet little neighborhood with sidewalks. This home is spacious, comfortable and has everything you will need. The master bedroom has a very nice KING size bed. I have a bad back and this bed was marvelous! There is also two other bedrooms and a bath. It has two family rooms just in case you need to watch a different channel than your husband :). The back yard is fenced for my fur kids. The owner is very nice and will help you if you need her. This was my fourth time renting this home. I absolutely love this house. It feels like " home" to me. I will be back again really soon.
We enjoyed the in-town location. Great communication with Cathy. Fridge and range are brand new. I was able to cook some Thanksgiving side dishes at the house. House stayed warm during chilly nights.
Thank you. Glad your family was able to enjoy Thanksgiving in Blue Ridge in our bungalow.
Lovely Mountain Bungalow
I loved your home, and it was so close to everything in Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas. The home was spacious. The kitchen had all the things you could ever need. The beds were comfortable! I will be staying with you again! Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Thank you so much for this great review.
Cozy, warm, convenient in town location❣️
My mother and I visited Blue Ridge for a few days primarily to ride the Train. I choose this little home because it is only 2 short blocks from the BLUE RIDGE RAILWAY and all the restaurants and shops. Before we arrived the owner had turned on the heat and lights for us. We walked in and my mother who is 84 said I picked a gem to stay in! The home is very tight, well made and stays warm even when it was a cold rainy evening. It was roomy and had plenty of room to move around in and find a corner to curl up with a good book. It even has two living rooms with two different TV's in case we didn't want to watch the same program. . The master bedroom has a new king size bed that my mother loved! The second bedroom where I slept seemed to have a new mattress on that bed as well. Both beds had beautiful bedding on them. The views from the window we could see the downtown area! The home is furnished with paper products, coffee, cream and had a bowl of candy waiting for us! To take my Dog outside to the fenced in backyard was very easy. The street also had a sidewalk to walk my dog down the road on.
Mother and I actually walked down to the town and ate at a wonderful restaurant called Chester Bruemeyers. Their three cheese grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup was marvelous on the cold day! We walked the entire downtown shops then back to the house!
This was my second time renting this home. I ask the owner to drop by to meet my mother as I had talked about Cathy on our trip up. Cathy dropped by to meet my mother. She was so delighted to meet the owner of the home! Cathy told us about many places of interest we may want to visit when our train arrived in Mccaysville/Copperhill.
I would definitely recommend this home. It's not a new home, but it's a well built older home that is tight, warm (or cool in warm weather) roomy to move around in and EXTREMELY CONVENIENT! Anything you need is within minutes!
Come to Blue Ridge, choose this VRBO listing. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you so much for choosing to come back to stay with us. It was so nice to meet your mother as well. Come back soon.
This property is extremely nice and conveniently located. Everything was just as described on the website and the owner, Cathy, was so easy to communicate with. I happily recommend this listing.
Thank you so much. Please come back to see us soon.
