Escape to this unique, modern mountain getaway located only minutes from Old Rag, White Oak Canyon, trout fishing, horseback riding, wineries, and breweries. Our new A-frame cabin offers a cozy space with all the amenities, a private patio with a stone firepit, and mountain views. We are conveniently located only 1.5 hours from Northern VA, 1 hour from Charlottesville, and 2 hours from Richmond. Are your desired dates already booked? The space
Our secluded 10 acre property does include another A-frame cabin and a private residence.

This cabin is a chic space with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, living room, and upstairs bedroom loft. The loft contains an open bedroom with a queen size bed and dresser. To access the loft, there is a steep staircase. In addition to the loft bedroom, we offer a queen pull out sofa bed located on the first level of the cabin.

Unwind and relax in our cozy cabin with unlimited WIFI, a smart TV, and board games. Need a snack or coffee? We offer that too! Then, head outside to your private outdoor patio which includes a stone firepit, 4 Adirondack chairs, firewood, fire starters, marshmallow skewers, and a propane grill. Enjoy the fresh mountain air while hanging with friends making s’mores!

Mountain get-away

This is a cozy, cute A-frame with everything you need for a perfect get-away. Alison communicated all the details and had nice welcome treats for us. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed for meal prep and the location is quiet and conveniently located to reach Shenandoah NP and some local wineries.

Escape to Old Rag

We stayed here for 2 nights and climbed Old Rag in between. The cabin was perfect, very clean, bed was comfortable, supplies were great. Our favorite part of the cabin was the well appointed and peaceful fire pit. The owner has a whole kit to get a nice fire going and even left s'mores kits! The cabins and fire pits are situated such that you can't see any neighbors, just some cows over the fence! Plenty of wineries, a few breweries, restaurants and a fun little distillery within 20 minutes. The owner's instructions to get to and check in were spot on. Wonderful spot if you're looking to get away on a quick hiking trip!

This place was fantastic; it's small, clean and super cute; my wife kept commenting on the decor and sent many pictures to her friends and her mom. We made a couple simple meals and easily found what we needed to accomplish that in the cupboards. We also made use of the fire pit that is built into a stone patio behind the house. There was plenty of wood, kindling, fire starters and a "poker" to manage the burning wood, which made it simple to start and maintain a great fire. We enjoyed s'mores using fixings provided by the host. We sat there for hours on the comfy Adirondack chairs, having many more s'mores with our own fixings. We also enjoyed watching a toad, my wife lovingly named "Sir Hops A-lot." It was slowly moving around the patio, periodically gobbling up little morsels flying around the beautiful ground lighting.We slept great in the very comfy bed. The A/C worked great and there were even fans upstairs in case it got warm, which we did not need. We had zero issues but communicated with the host a couple times to let them know we had arrived, etc. They were incredibly fast to respond. The internet worked great and we spent probably too much time watching Forensic Files.There is a second A-Frame house nearby; we saw a car there but never saw or heard the people staying there. It was very quiet and peaceful.
