Great location, clean cabin, lots of fun!
Really enjoyed our stay at ORMC. The checkin process was simple and the cabin was very clean. Had no issues whatsoever. Had a great time fishing, hiking, and swimming in the surrounding area. Will likely return at some point!

Cozy and Welcoming Stay
The property is remote but check-in directions provided by the hosts were clear and easy to follow. The cabin was clean and had plenty of linens and towels, along with a reasonably well-stocked kitchenette. Overall, a lovely stay - note there is internet or cellphone service!

Cozy new year's getaway
We had a lovely new year's weekend tucked away in Jane's cozy cabin. Her directions and instructions to get to and get in the cabin are very good, given that you will lose cell signal about 5-6 miles away from the cabin. My gps did still work correctly, but be prepared not to rely on it. There are also a good number of steps to get to the cabin from the driveway. This isn't a place for anyone with mobility issues. That said, we had the best time unplugging, just watching movies, going for walks around the pond, watching deer and other wildlife go about their day. It was not a big deal to get back to Madison for groceries. And Graves Mountain Lodge and a little deli are very close by. It was perfect for a weekend getaway.

Weekend getaway!
The cabin is very cozy and private, although there are neighbors but no one too close. It is very dated and better not suited for kids under 4 yrs of age ( because of the wood stove location and outlets) The pond view is very pretty. We visited a few local wineries. Overall, we had a very relaxed stress-free weekend. We would definitely return. I bet fall is beautiful there. It is not handicapped accessible.

Saftey First
I wish that I was informed about all the steps to get to the cabin. I as well as my family member have a disability and had to go up 25 steps to and from the cabin. 20 of the steps had no railing to hold on to and a a few of the steps at the top were broken. Otherwise I loved the cabin and it was very clean.

Jane & Kevin live on the Gulf Coast but love the mountains. They have family in VA. They get up to the cabin as often as they can!

Why they chose this property

Jane lived in MD for several years and loved to hike in the VA mountains. She moved down to the Gulf Coast in the 90's but the mountains kept calling. She found the cabin and fell in love. Over the years she made improvements to the cabin and has enjoyed sharing it with her guests.
