Spectacular, awesome, and stunning are just some of the comments made by guests to describe the view from this totally private corner unit. D3 at Sealodge is located in the building closest to the corner edge of the bluff so you get both ocean and inlet views. With no buildings in site, it feels like you are on the edge of the bluff all by yourself. Enjoy panoramic views of whitewater waves, Kileauea lighthouse, Anini Beach and Humpback whales on their winter migration. Especially popular with honeymooners, this prime first floor end unit has 180 degree views from all windows (living, dining, lanai and bedroom). At night get lulled to sleep by the crashing waves below and in the morning enjoy spectacular sunrises and the Layton Albatross as they glide along the thermal winds from the bluff. The balmy tradewinds and the smell of plumeria and blooming flowers is the beginning of beautiful memories in paradise.
The condo is situated so that you view wonderful sunrises from all the windows. This also means that the sun passes overhead by noon so you don't have any afternoon sun coming in and heating up any of the rooms. The lanai is also sheltered just enough so you get just a gentle breeze as you sit outside and take in the magic of the scenery around you.
Recent $30,000 remodel. Upgrade includes all kitchen cupboards, counter and appliances including new full-sized washer and dryer. A new 42 inch LCD flat screen TV with a HD cable in the living room provides an amazing picture plus the DVR allows you to record shows and movies to watch later. New tile in entry, kitchen and bath, all window coverings, modern couch and loveseat with large accent rug and new chairs in the alcove. Also, king Beautyrest pillow top mattress, lanai furniture, 27' LCD for the bedroom, coffee table, dining chairs, pots & pans, all bedding & pillows, glasses, towels, etc. Time Warner wireless high speed internet plus digital phone for free local and long distance calls. Kitchen also includes blender, mixer, electric juicer, mini food processor, tea kettle plus spices, various sugars, coffee filters, various oils and salt & pepper. Also provided is paper towels, laundry soap, bar soap and shampoo. For indoor activities there are books, games, DVD, VCR, CD player and binoculars for Humpback whales passing by or turtles swimming near the reef. For outdoor activities, there are beach chairs, towels, mats, cooler, beach umbrella and various snorkeling gear.
Enjoy the upscale resort area of Princeville with its two Championship golf courses, miles of foot paths, restaurants and shopping including a large Foodland. Sealodge has a prime location at the end of Kamehameha road with plenty of free parking. Eat at numerous nearby restaurants or fix a meal in the fully equipped kitchen in your condo. Sealodge promises pure relaxation and comfort.
Kauai's dramatic North Shore is an enchanting setting full of rugged mountains, heavenly beaches and spectacular sea cliffs. You'll be amazed at how much beauty can be found in just one area of Kauai. A number of spectacular beaches are nearby including Hideaways, Anini, Hanalei Bay, Ke'e, Secret Beach and Tunnels where the snorkeling is amazing.
For adventure take a helicopter ride from the Princeville airport and see where many movies have been shot including Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean. At Princeville Ranch take a horseback ride to beautiful waterfalls. Other North Shore activities include kayaking, ziplining, hiking and you can also learn about native plants and see scenic views at Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens or at the 17-acre Lumahuli Gardens, part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden.
Enjoy the many fine restaurants right in Princeville or venture into Hanalei to find many more exceptional places to dine. Simply unwinding and relaxing in this lush tropical paradise are the best qualities of Kauai. The guest book in the condo has many more suggestions of things to do, places to dine and activities that our guests enjoyed but every entry starts with 'What a view'! Your dream vacation awaits with memories you'll treasure forever.

About Linda Dunham
The condo is owned by myself, Linda Dunham, my sister Judy, my brother Ron and his wife Doreen. We originally bought the property as an investment, but we all love Hawaii and that amazing view so it will most likely stay in the family for a long time. Ron and Doreen's son Dan was married in Maui this past May but honeymooned in Princeville. It was their first stay in the condo and they immediately called to say 'please don't ever sell it, we love it!' I feel the same way as do the guests that stay there.
Linda Dunham purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Linda Dunham chose Princeville
My sister and I went shopping for condos in 2000. In Maui we saw partial ocean views, the Big Island had some units closer to the ocean but all kind of run together off of one highway. We hit Poipu for the afternoon sun which was blazing in and heating up most of the condos also making it hard to even watch the sunset. We arrived at Sealodge and once we sat in the condo and she opened all the blinds we both went 'wow' and since luckily we were the first to view it, we said do not put the lockbox on, we want it. Some people who have stayed there have even asked us to let them know if we ever want to sell it, but I think not. The North Shore has such beautiful beaches, wonderful restaurants and a small town charm. Kauai being the 'garden isle' is so lush and tropical that it truly is paradise. In the condo, the tradewinds blowing and the sound of the waves below is so relaxing and peaceful you almost don't want to venture out.
What makes this Condo unique
Sealodge D3 is located on the ground floor in the building located closest to the bluff and the ocean so it is like you are all by yourselves. The lanai faces only inlet and ocean. The Hawaiian geese like to stroll by in the morning and several other species of birds are flying around or on the bluff. The tradewinds are almost always blowing and the sunrises are spectacular. In the condo the back wall is all mirror so anywhere you look you see the ocean. Nobody has ever stayed there without saying 'what a view!'.

The view sells this place. It is also a perfect size for a couple. And it is ideally located to many things like good snorkeling, Hanalei and the Foodland in Princeville. The street in has some large potholes and I think the information the owner provides should advise against taking the trail down to the beach. She describes it as "moderate" but I would call it "treacherous". She does caution that it is slippery when wet, but it's also poorly marked and the last 30 yards are over rocks that slope slightly to the ocean.
I will revise my letter to say it's a difficult trail to the Sealodge beach, but also it's been raining even more than normal the past couple months so I'm sure the trail is bad. Fortunately, there are wonderful beaches you can drive to all along the north shore. Hanalei Beach Park is just 2 miles away and Anini Beach is not much farther and they have easy access, parking and are pretty calm even in the winter months.
This unit was perfect for my husband and I. Incredible sunrises each morning and were fortunate enough to see whales and dolphins each day.The owner was exceptionally easy to deal with and responsive to our needs. Once again, the view was outstanding. The only reason I give it 4 stars, is that the whole complex is a bit dated which didn't bother us one bit. Sealodge Beach was not a path that we felt comfortable with, but we LOVED Tunnels Beach. We would absolutely return. Thanks for sharing your condo!
The outside of each building is that weathered shake wood. Not my favorite either. In fact, we almost didn't look at the condo because of it but once we saw the inside and the view we told the realtor not to put the lockbox on - we bought it immediately! It's too bad the wood doesn't stay looking like it does when it first goes on. If the path down to the Sealodge Beach is wet I wouldn't try it as it's too slippery. I have had the more adventurous go down and they really do like the beach but you really have to be careful!
This place is wonderful. The views are incredible especially if you like to enjoy a cup of coffee from the comfort of your back porch or open the windows and let the breeze flow through as you relax. The owner is super kind and accommodating. My wife and I will most definitely look to stay here again.
Nice condo with amazing views
This condo is as advertised – updated, older, with great views and very clean. Given the location and views it is a good value. Linda's communication was great and responsive. Surprised by large amount of beach gear that is supplied as well as the little things stocked that you don’t have to buy. We were comfortable with the furnishings and bedding during our stay. Unfortunately, the weather was poor much of the time - overcast, windy, rain that caused a mudslide and road closures. It does rain a bit more on Kauai and the condo is quite exposed to any weather up on the cliff. The pool is nice but unheated and too cold for our liking. We did enjoy the extensive walking paths bordering the golf course. Overall, a good visit but we left wishing the weather had been nicer.
Beautiful view but problems with the screens.
The views from this property were great and the cleanliness of the unit was very good, but there were problems with the noise from the screens that were loose. It was very windy when I was there and the screens made so much noise in the wind that I couldn't even sleep. The screen in the bedroom was torn and kept banging against the frame making noise that I thought was coming from upstairs. I talked to the renter upstairs, but they were not making noise and didn't hear anything. After the 4th night of almost no sleep I took the bedroom screen out and put it in the closet and the noise finally stopped. I finally got some sleep the last 3 nights of my stay. The screens in the living room were also very loose in the track and could be heard over the sound from the TV, but at least that didn't keep me awake. . The condo owner was very nice in my contact with her, but the screens do need attention. I left the screen in the closet so the next tenant would not have to deal with the same problem.
I'm so sorry to hear you lost sleep over the screens. If I had known, I would have sent the handyman over right away to fix them. The cleaner let me know he found a ripped screen in the closet and I have asked the handyman to come repair. We talked regarding the tv right when you arrived so I'm not sure why you didn't contact me regarding the screens.
The view from this unit are amazing, saw one of the most beautiful sunrises from here. You can see far out into the ocean, a set of binoculars is left for you to use to seek out whales. Linda sent very detailed instructions so no problem getting in. The unit is ground level and the bench nearby does draw visitors as it should, if you are wary of privacy, keep curtains closed. There's is a little path to the beach that requires some negotiating with the terrain but the pebbley beach is very secluded and well worth the trip down.
