About Suzi Nakea
Nakea Kauai Vacation rentals offers three properties for rent, a one bedroom ocean bluff condo at Sealodge in Princeville (Kai Nani), a three bedroom beachfront home (Hale Kai) and a one bedroom beachfront cottage (Punana Aloha). The latter two are both located at the secluded end of incredible Anini Beach. All three properties are owned and lovingly cared for by Bob Nakea and his daughter Suzi. Bob and Suzi are native Hawaiians whose family's roots on Kauai go back to the 1800's. No attention to detail on the properties is overlooked, and each home is furnished with the comfort of its guests foremost in mind.

Why Suzi Nakea chose Kilauea
In the North Shore's idyllic setting you can: swim, surf; sunbathe, scuba dive or snorkel, wind surf (with rental boards and lessons available at Anini Beach Park), go shore fishing, book a deep water charter; beach comb, go horseback riding at nearby stables, hike the island's awesome trails, enjoy gourmet dining, whale watch, take a Na Pali Coast boat tour or a sunset sailing cruise in Hanalei Bay, book a helicopter tour of fabulous Waimea Canyon, play tennis, enjoy worldclass golfing, drive around the island and take in the sights, or just simply lie back and bask in the simple glory of being in one of earth's most naturally beautiful and peaceful places. We will be happy to help with recommendations in your activity planning. Just let us know what you would like to do!
What makes this House unique
Punana Aloha's location almost at the dead end of Anini Road (1/5 mile from where the paved road ends and the sand and gravel road begins), where there is only a single row of homes along the beach, means that our guests enjoy quiet and privacy not found along most of the rest of Anini . The protecting reef (one of the largest in Hawaii) assures that the waves break far out and not on the shore, and the calm shoreline and shallow waters make the area in front of the house ideal for swimming and snorkeling most of the year (except during periods of high winter surf).

House on secluded beach
This comfortable house is on a secluded beach at the end of Anini Rd. It's also a short drive to the more populated but nice Anini Beach Park. The house is well equipped with beach chairs, mats and towels. There is a grill with grilling utensils along with the usual indoor kitchen supplies.
The owner was very easy to communicate with and went above and beyond keeping up with me when I was stuck in the house for several days due to a major storm that came through. The electricity went off one day, and the owner got the utility company to come fix it surprisingly fast.
We had a fabulous Kauai vacation and stay at this immaculately clean little cabin just across the road from the beach. A full kitchen had everything we needed to create delicious ‘catch of the day’ dinners, with fresh fish picked up at the nearby fish market. We loved sitting out on the patio watching and listening to the waves. Any and all questions we had were attended to quickly and effectively. Bob and Suzi provided everything we could possibly need for a very enjoyable stay. We loved our evening sunset strolls along the beach and were blissfully rocked each night by the ocean waves. We didn’t spend much time swimming or snorkelling at Anini beach due to weather conditions being rainy and cold most days. However, its never a far to drive to find sunshine and calmer waters on other parts of the island, and it did clear up near the end of our stay. Please note many people camp along this beach overnight all throughout the year as permitted, and so there are some who seem to be living out of their vehicles as to be expected with this opportunity. However there is much reduced activity of this on the beach in front of or near the cabin. At no time did we feel unsafe, and we quite enjoyed our stay. The house is adorable, it was great to have laundry facilities after coming over from the big island, we were able to wash all of our clothing. We would absolutely consider staying here again. The North side of the island, despite the weather was our favourite. It is beautiful, lush, mountainous and all around healing.
We had many adventures during our stay from Monk seals and sea turtles, whales and dolphins, cave boat tours, waterfall hikes and snorkelling, no adventure is too far from this sweet place! Thank you dearly to Bob and Suzi for an absolutely wonderful stay and sharing their sweet little home on this beautiful beach with us!
This is an amazing place for rest and relaxation. I didn’t realize how close the neighbors were but it wasn’t an issue at all. It’s so quiet there you don’t notice anyone around you. This was by far the quietest place we’ve ever stayed on the north shore of Kaua’i. The kitchen is very well stocked, which was great because we ate in more than we normally do on this trip. This is a perfect place for a couple looking for peace and a great beach across the street to swim and snorkel in.
Suzi and Bob are so welcoming and the home is exactly that. My husband and I found our new favorite. It’s been a long time since we have been soooo relaxed.
Punana Aloha was the perfect place for us. We loved living on the ‘edge of the jungle’ away from everything. Green sea turtles, snorkeling, warm waters and a sandy beach a short walk away, beautiful Anini Bay and a star filled sky - what more could you want? Suzi was easy to communicate with and the house had everything we needed. We can’t wait to return!
