About the host
Hosted by Connie
I am an American living in Ireland for over 15 years. I came here for love and stayed here for love of Ireland and it's people. I have been an avid traveler all of my life and enjoy the experience of visiting other countries and understanding cultures different from my own. I intend on sharing this house with others who want an experience, not just a hotel stay in a beautiful country such as Ireland.
Why they chose this property
I acquired this property in 2022 during a career break. The stone farmhouse itself is what drew me to the property. Over the course of 8 months, we took the house back to its bones to modernize the heating and usability of the house while retaining as much character as possible. I was fortunate to meet many neighbors during the process and most importantly, I became friends with Phil, a wonderful woman and former schoolteacher, who grew up in the house. Her brother Jimmy inherited the house and farm at a young age. She has shared many memories and old photographs which I'm proud to display in the house and hope our guests enjoy as well.
What makes this property unique
The house is located in a rural and eautiful country setting in East Clare within driving distance to many attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Bunratty castle and Lough Derg. The house is less than 3 miles (5km) from the market town of Scarriff on Lough Derg and 25 minutes from Killaloe. This is a wonderful setting to relax and enjoy rural Ireland whether it's long summer days or cozy winter evenings.
