Welcome to The Sherwood! Although Lake Lure is closed for the 2025 season, the area remains peaceful and beautiful. Chimney Rock and some local spots are still open, making this cozy modern log home a perfect mountain getaway. With 2,600 sq. ft. of space, a fireplace, pool table, and outdoor living areas, The Sherwood offers the ideal mix of comfort and nature.

Located just one street off the lake, with public beach access only 5 minutes away (kayaks, boat rentals, etc.). The open concept upstairs features a cozy living area and the master bedroom and bath. Downstairs includes two additional bedrooms, a pull out couch, and a fun game area.

The Lake Lure area is a beautiful mix of mountains and lake. Our neighborhood is quiet and easy to access, and a great spot to relax and spend time with friends or family. Within minutes to great restaurants, boat rentals, public beach, and hiking. The house is just 1 street off of the lake.

This is a pet friendly property, we do charge a pet fee. You`ll see this upon booking! Reach out with any questions.

Absolutely amazing, comfortable cabin!

We rented this adorable cabin in lake lure recently and absolutely loved it! FINALLY a VRBO gets it! It was incredibly clean, the furniture was really nice and actually comfortable! So many times we've rented VRBOs and the beds are super uncomfortable but not this one! We slept like babies. Once Lake Lure reopens we will be going back to enjoy some fun in the sun.

Fall Break Get Away

Our family enjoyed the spacious cabin on a quick fall break get away. Cabin was very clean and was well stocked. We were able to enjoy hiking at Chimney Rock and a boat tour of Lake Lure. We will definitely be back!

This house was perfect for us (family with 2 teenagers and 2 dogs). It was clean, spacious, secluded, but located near everything. The lake view was beautiful and we loved the pool table in the basement. We even got to see a bear! We'll definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay! The pool table was a big hit! The cabin is well stocked and is centrally located in Lake Lure. The owners were responsive and very helpful. Our daughter and son in law loved being able to escape downstairs to their private “wing”. Would highly recommend this cabin!

Great place. Plenty of room for us. A very quiet area during our time there. Great little log cabin that was decorated for the holidays and we really enjoyed that. It was clean and organized and ready for us as soon as we arrived, so we did not have any stress on our trip. A little further away from Biltmore than we expected, but I think that is more due to the storm/flood damage blocking off many roads in the area still from a while ago, but still a very easy trip over to Biltmore and Asheville. Grocery store is not far if you need it and we had a few good options to eat at near the cabin as well. We liked La Strada's. We also got to see some wildlife on our trip. Nothing near the place, but we did see a Mama Black Bear and her cubs over near the restaurant. That was an added PLUS to our trip. The property owners were amazing. great communication and so easy to work with. Will happily reserve one of their properties again the next time we travel to the area.

It was lovely. Quietly nestled in the upper crest of the turn around. I would definitely stay here again. Hopefully you come prepared with cutting boards and sharp knives as the utensils in the cabin are wanting, butter knives with more edge exist. The fireplace wasn’t working which is too bad because that would have made the ambience even better. It was tastefully decorated with the festive holiday lights and garland. Very fast to answer questions, usually within a 20 to 30 minute window. The view was limited to just a small section on the side and back of house as it was mostly surrounded by trees that limited the view of the lake. It was still very nice as it was mostly a chance to break out of the routine and hang with friends to play tabletop games.
