We loved this cabin! It was so convenient to town and all that the area has to offer. The kitchen had everything we could have asked for and views were amazing! The host even messaged us early on the ensure we were taken care of and to provide any needed recommendations. Top notch service and we’d stay here again without hesitation!

Good morning Dedra,
Thank you for the wonderful review. We would love for you to return to our cabin! This is a second home and we try to make it feel like our guests second home as well.

This cabin is absolutely perfect inside and out. You felt at home the minute you walked in. Very well maintained and decorated. The outdoors is no different and the view is beautiful. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The owners thought of everything! Located at the top of the Laurel Ridge loop, the view is absolutely stunning. The layout of the cabin provided more than enough space for both inside and outside activities. Definitely a winner!!
We wanted a house big enough for three families, to be able to spread out and come together for meals. This place was perfect. Well equipped kitchen, including spices, and pantry items. Lots of throw blankets for those cool nights in front of the fireplace. Very quiet area. Nice ambiance lights on the decks and porches, plenty of firewood for the log fire pit.
Our only complaints were, you can hear everything and everyone in the house, in the second and third floor bedrooms. The mattresses were slightly uncomfortable, but bearable. And lastly the washing machine smelled bad, it’s a front load and I think it’s because the door needs to be left open when not in use to keep mold from growing on the rubber ring, but with the laundry set up the way it is, you can’t leave the washer door open and close the laundry closet door.
We had a great relaxing time, the one way drive did not bother me, but others in our group were a little reluctant to go up and down even with small SUV’s, my Accord went up and down with no issues.

Hi Amanda, we are glad you enjoyed your stay in our home. We try to make it as comfortable for our guests as possible and how we want to feel when we stay there as well. We love to cook so a well equipped kitchen is a necessity!
Just a fun fact… our home is an original log cabin. The wood floors are top nailed and actually have small spaces between each board. This design does not lend itself to soundproofing!
We try to have mattresses that appeal to all, but some like them hard and some like them soft so one person’s comfort is another’s discomfort. Not quite sure which way to go, but appreciate all advice.
Finally, I hope you noticed our laundry care notes. We are happy to provide all supplies for the machines for your convenience and our note does state to leave the washing machine door cracked open. It actually is possible to do and close the bi-fold doors. We will speak to housekeeping to clean the machine and I will check it myself when I am there in January.
Thank you for your feedback and we hope you return to Mountain Dove!

We are a family of four and a dog who purchased our cabin with both sides parents! We are all from Florida and enjoy experiencing the cooler evenings and change of seasons. We spent the first two years renovating, updating and refreshing our mountain getaway. We have also explored the family friendly area, hikes, restaurants, wineries, breweries and neighboring small towns. Just ask for suggestions!
Why they chose this property
Welcome to a perfect location between Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Laurel Mountain is a beautiful community with many full-time residence. Our breathtaking long range views are from the top of the mountain. Please note, our road is not a paved road. It is a gravel, single lane one mile drive. Although not at all required, we would recommend a SUV - no need for AWD or 4WD unless in the winter and only when the weather gets ugly. Depending on the time of year, you may experience our wonderful wildlife, beautiful Mountain Laurel blossoms, or outstanding fall foliage. Only a short fifteen minutes away, downtown Blue Ridge offers upscale restaurants, food tours, shopping, local breweries and wineries, and a vibrant arts scene with galleries, a theatre, and live music on weekends. Ellijay, known as the "Apple Capital of Georgia" is about twenty minutes from the cabin. Ellijay holds an annual Georgia Apple Festival in October, and a quaint downtown full of shops, restaurants and antiques. Explore numerous beautiful vineyards and fun breweries in the surrounding area or venture out to the local orchards. We are situated near 300 miles of hiking trails, as well as cycling and mountain bike trails. The Benton MacKaye Trail runs right through our community. This trail offers is accessible year-round. Our cabin is also close to nearby Ocoee River rafting. There are five 18-hole golf courses close by and skiing is only 2 1/2 hours away, with the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport only 90 minutes away . Our community is dedicated to maintaining our roads, but weather can cause the road to rut, making some sections bumpier than others. You can't get a view like this without having to travel to the top of the mountain. The view is definitely worth it. If you're not comfortable with the idea of driving up a one way dirt road, please find another cabin.
