About this property

Aquinnah Cliffs Retreat, Walk to Beach!

AVAILABLE JULY 29, 2026 THROUGH AUGUST 15, 2026. We are flexible on the exact days during this period and will give a 10 percent discount on our already low rates for a 14 day rental.

Experience the best of peaceful outdoor living on Martha's Vineyard at Island's End at the Aquinnah Cliffs! Great water views from many rooms and the private wrap-around deck. Enjoy morning coffee on the deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Nomans Land and listening to the waves reach the beach. Then take a 10-15 minute walk to Moshup Beach, or a 5-minute drive to Philbin Beach, where you can spend the day under the spectacular Aquinnah Cliffs or relaxing and surfing at the resident-only Philbin Beach. It's also a short stroll to the Aquinnah Shops for coffee, food, snacks and unique jewelry, clothing, beachy home accents and gifts. In the afternoon, relax on the East side deck with views of Chilmark and Menemsha Hills or on the North back deck where you can enjoy a vista of conservation land to the Vineyard Sound and the Elizabeth Islands in the distance. And of course no trip to Aquinnah would be complete without visiting the Gay Head lighthouse at the Cliffs. Finally, there is no better place on Martha's Vineyard than the Aquinnah Cliffs observation deck to watch the sunset. To top things off, one of the best restaurants on island, the Outermost Inn, is a 5-minute walk away. The bus stop to take you to the rest of the island is that same 5-minute walk away. Other pluses include air conditioning throughout the condo and E/V charging stations at the Cliffs. The property is perfect for a couple, family of 3-4, or 3-4 friends.

Check out the view from the deck in our YouTube video (https://youtu.be/ArqC3xTwK9I) or check out one of the many YouTube drone videos of the Gay Head Lighthouse overlooking Aquinnah with the condo in the background or Apple Maps satellite view to get a true view of this special property.

Before you book your stay: Aquinnah is a fabulous place and the guests who rent in this area often return yearly because it is so quiet, beautiful and less crowded. However, if you are unfamiliar with Martha’s Vineyard, there are a few things to note before you rent in Aquinnah.
1. The grocery stores are “down island”, about a 35-minute drive away. However, the Gay Head Store, a wonderful small market at the Cliffs, has all your basic needs and fabulous takeout sandwiches and meals. There is also the Cliffhangers takeout restaurant with a great selection of beachside meals and treats - the soft ice cream cones are an island favorite!
2. If you rent a car on island, rentals need to be booked in advance. Island-wide buses pick up and stop at the Cliffs, accommodate bicycles and are only a 5-minute walk from the condo. In 2025 they ran from 6am to 11pm and were free for all passengers so hopefully we'll see that again in 2026.
3. If you want to bring a car on island, there is limited space on the ferries and a car reservation is needed ahead of time. (No reservations are necessary for those not bringing a car on island.) If you need to make car reservations, please check/book a ferry reservation with the Steamship Authority (steamship authority.com) before selecting the dates of your stay. Availability is more likely mid-week and for early morning and late evening ferries. With a two-week stay, we will consider mid-week arrivals and departures.
4. Similarly, the price of flights to and from the island vary significantly depending on the day of the week and whether you are coming to or leaving the island.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Host profile image
During Covid we decided we wanted to find a second home in the north east U.S. to escape the Florida heat. After countless days and months of searching the internet for the most special place we could find, this incredible property popped up on a search and we immediately knew this condo was what we were dreaming of. Since then we have been making the place our second home while renting it out for only a few weeks a year. As a second home, we have outfitted the place as our home, not a rental. We hope visitors will enjoy Aquinnah as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

The views of the Atlantic Ocean and Vineyard Sound are spectacular! Set in a natural landscape, this Aquinnah condo is surrounded by nature yet is only a 5 minute walk to the Gay Head Lighthouse and the spectacular Aquinnah Cliffs Lookout. If you want to bar hop, stay in Oak Bluffs. If you want manicured gardens and eat at a different fancy restaurant each night, stay in Edgartown. However, if you want to enjoy the natural beauty of Martha's Vineyard, spectacular sunsets and uncrowded beaches, stay in Aquinnah. The majority of the people who summer in Aquinnah have been coming for years if not decades.

What makes this property unique

The views of the Atlantic Ocean and Vineyard Sound are spectacular! The front of the unit faces the Atlantic Ocean, the east side faces Menemsha in the distance, and the north faces the Vineyard Sound - every room as a water view! Although surrounded by nature it is a 5 minute walk to the Gay Head Lighthouse and the spectacular Aquinnah Cliffs Lookout, shops, market and restaurants.

What also makes this property special is that It is only a 10-15 minute walk to Moshup Beach or guests can obtain a beach parking pass from the Town of Aquinnah and park at Philbin Beach.

Although the interior square footage is small, it feels more spacious and the large surrounding decks provide substantial private outdoor living space.
