Great rental Great Value
This beach house rental was such a great experience with my family. The beach access, farmers market, excellent restaurants and local ice cream shop. Highly recommend this rental. We will definitely be renting again!
We had a wonderful family vacation. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch with a lovely view, swimming in the ocean right out the front door, and the quiet dead-end road. The neighborhood was friendly, and people were helpful. The neighbors obviously love their piece of the coast. Can’t wait to go back.
Awesome Memories for our littlest daughter's 2nd Birthday 🎉🎉
It was amazing stay and very friendly neighborhood. We met many families and learnt more about the changes that have happened over years to the neighborhood. It felt like Home
The house is located right on the bay with incredible views and easy access to the areas many treasures. The owners were super friendly and extremely helpful in every way. The place is very charming and nicely appointed. Looking forward to coming back another day!! A+++
The house was cozy and had great character. The upstairs was redone with new beautiful hardwoods. It was wonderful waking up to the ocean and it was so peaceful and quiet. We walked across the street to enjoy the beach and the views are unmatched. We had everything we needed. Clean sheets, cookware, binder full of directions/recommendations. Truly was a great place.
We stayed at the house for a week in July/August. The location is wonderful, right across from a private beach. The neighborhood was quiet. Close to downtown Plymouth, restaurants and stores. Walking distance to Grays beach. Property manager had great communication before and during the stay, answering any questions that came up.

Thank you for staying with us and the nice review! Your group was great and we would love to host you again in the future!
The location of the property is spectacular. It’s literally a stone’s throw away from the tranquil beach and glittering harbor of Rocky Nook. The process was seamless and the owners were very responsive to last minute questions. The only room for improvement would be in the furniture / bedding department, but it’s a beach house so after a long day at the beach it’s what’s expected. All-in-all a great find.
This cabin was excellent, resonably priced, and in a great location. The only caveat is that the description nor pictures made it clear that all bedrooms (and single bathroom) were on the 2nd floor. If I would have known this I would have booked elsewhere as I had with me an elderly mother who has difficulty with staris. Beyond that, the place was excellent, and I would book again if I were going by myself.

Lovely Seaside Getaway
Travelled with my family, including two teenage boys, to stay for a few days at Clara's Retreat - and wished we could have stay longer. Quiet area with the ocean front and centre - the boys loved exploring the shore when the tide was out. With the beach directly across the street - and the variety of beach accessories stocked at the cottage, it was so easy to head over and enjoy the hot summer days. A very nice grill and well stocked kitchen made it easy for us to cook on site - though Plymouth is only a few minutes drive and has many nice restaurants.
Being a tall family, the smaller upstairs and smaller beds that fit in the traditional rooms, made for tighter quarters. The cottage was very clean and thankfully had a good a/c unit as the weather was very hot - nice breeze with the windows open but we appreciated cooling things down at night. Next time we will skip the big city and spend more time just enjoying Kingston Bay at Clara's Retreat!

Quaint seaside stay
The rental is a time worn 1934 New England home. The fact that it has 3/4 walls and one shared ceiling for the whole upstairs takes a little getting used to.The decor is austere in its simplicity. The house looks just as pictured in rental listing and was clean and tidy.Internet/cell service is a bit spotty but my son was able to connect his Xbox to the internet and tv. It has gas heat so beware the water gets HOT.The house suited our basic needs as we were up from PA visiting my oldest son who lives nearby. If you are looking for spartan accommodations with a lovely view of the bay and rocky beach or some peace and quiet this is for you. The front porch is a great spot for dog watching as you'll see many on their daily walks Also, just a heads up there are no curtains If you're big on privacy. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Clara's Retreat.

Excellent hosts
I’m very impressed with Jim and Jessica as hosts. Whatever questions we had were answered immediately. There was one time I texted them and I swear Jim called me back before I hit send. I’m only half joking there, it was a pretty instantaneous. There was a time I contacted them because the previous guest had left bubblegum in the dryer (not nice!) and I was having trouble removing it. I texted them while we were out and Jessica showed up and scrubbed it clean before we got back, as they didn’t want that to be the guests’ responsibility. We know the house is old and a new property for them, they just started managing it a month or so before my family rented it, so they hadn’t had time to update it (which Jim tells me is happening over this coming winter), but we enjoyed the old charm and had fun staying there. We really enjoyed sitting on the front deck at night, facing the water. That view and the sounds of the water erased all the stress from work and life back home. The area is very quiet at night, great for families. The beach, which is the bay side, is perfect for small children. As our child is a teenager now (😱), we drove to another beach for the waves. You would do well to drive in to Plymouth. There’s a recreation of the mayflower, which is very impressive, of course Plymouth Rock, and be sure to book an afternoon on a whale watching boat ride —the one we went on found a pod, which was amazing to watch. I look forward to booking another trip with Jim and Jessica, they really are great hosts.
Charming rustic New England cabin! Beautiful views! The area is beautiful and easy access to Boston and neighboring towns. Very thankful we stayed here.
