Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

This beautiful new home nestles up to a grove of evergreens high on a hill, overlooking the Tillamook Bay and Pacific Ocean. There are expansive views of the bay and ocean from nearly every room in the house. Wildlife, including dear and sometimes bald eagles are seen daily.

This home is ideal for one or more families. Two of the three bedrooms are master suites, each with a king size bed, a long window seat facing the water, doors to a deck, and a private bathroom with double sinks. One bedroom has a roman tub and large, walk-in tile shower. The third bedroom with two twin beds and a full-sized futon is directly off the family room which is equipped with lots of comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a DVD player and an extensive library of movie/shows, and a stereo. A third full bath with double sinks and shower are close-by.

On the top floor is a more formal living area (complete with gas fireplace) that is open to the dining room & gourmet kitchen where adults can enjoy a glass of wine and chat listening to music while the kids play games or watch movies on the main floor. There is seating for six at the dining room table and additional seating for two at the bar counter. The kitchen is well equipped, including all new stainless steel appliances, microwave, toaster oven, tea kettle, and coffee maker, grinder and beans. Lots of pots, pans, baking dishes and utensils are available. There is also a 5 burner gas grill on the upper deck. There is a half-bath and den off the open living space.

This home has stairs: one flight to enter the first floor living space, and a second flight to the kitchen, dining room and other living space. Bedrooms are located on both floors.

The house has lots of board games, a foosball table, a Bowflex, a pullup bar, kites and toys. The home is all hardwood, with area rugs in the living/family rooms. We encourage shoeless living in the house.

If you enjoy fishing, you will have a grand time! There are charters out of nearby Garabaldi for fishing in the bay or ocean. There are also five rivers that spill into the bay, several well known for salmon fishing. Hiking is close-by in the coastal range and Tillamook forest and several nice beaches are within minutes by car. If you enjoy shopping, Seaside is north, Lincoln City is to the south. If golf is your game, the Gearhart Golf Course (the oldest course in the NW), and Alderbridge in Tillamook are very close.

About Dean Evans

We built this home ourselves, having purchased it when it was only rough-framed. We look forward to sharing it with other families who can build memories here too.

Dean Evans purchased this house in 2009

Why Dean Evans chose Northern Coast

We chose this location for many reasons. In some ways, you feel like you are in the forest, but you are at the coast. We also love the small town of Bay City (pop. 400). Folks are friendly. You can walk to local diners, a small grocer, a public library, a park with a creek flowing to the bay, and an art gallery. Tillamook is only 5 miles south, Garibaldi and Rockaway a few miles farther north. It is quite and peaceful and very beautiful.

What makes this house unique

This home has 54 windows on the second floor alone. Nearly every room has a spectacular view. You will enjoy the outdoors in luxury! Cozy up to the fireplace, while watching white caps on the bay. Curl up with a soft blanket and read a book sitting on one of the window seats while the rain pours down. Grab the kites and head to the very quite beach on the jetty for the afternoon. Or head out to hike one of the dozens of trails in the mountains nearby. Grab (or catch) some fresh seafood on your way back and cook up a storm back at the house.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, well-equipped home with great views of the bay. We were a party of two retired couples, and having two master bedrooms was an added plus. The owner was quick to respond to the one question we asked about an electrical connection for the media system. For us, the house was great. If you have little children or someone in your group with mobility issues, know that the house has two flights of stairs.

Beautiful, Clean, Peaceful... Perfect Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay for almost a week in April 2017. The space was big enough for three families, and we loved being able to cook meals and spend time together in the mornings and evenings. The house was appealing to three generations... There were plenty of toys and movies, along with space for grownups to unwind and enjoy the views. The owner was wonderful about answering questions and making us feel welcome.

Highly recommend and would stay again.

Quiet Home Overlooking Tillamook Bay

  • 4 of 5

This is a quiet home location. There is another residence right next door. It may be a rental as well as there wasn't anyone there when we were. The shared driveway is narrow. We had a larger boat and truck and parking was difficult but not impossible. Nice clean residence with basic necessities. The views of the bay were great and the close proximity to everything was nice. Beware there are uneven large landscaping rocks in the form of steps that you have to walk on to get to the stairs that lead to the front door. These could be tricky for some people as there are no handrails there. I would definitely return here. The owner was prompt in all matters.

Perfect for 3 women

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I met to celebrate a year of our milestone birthdays. This home was perfect. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. We loved cooking together in the beautiful kitchen. Wine and cheese on the deck with spectacular view, watched movies and took hikes close by. One heads up. Lots of stairs. But we loved the forced exercise!

Space, views and comfort....great vacation rental that won't disappoint

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here with our three teen boys and a grandma. Everyone loved the house...even the teens despite no wifi. It was meticulously clean and had the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we have used before - loved that there was enough of everything from plates to silverware and mugs big enough for a decent cup of tea or coffee - and everything matched - not the usual hotch-potch of mismatched odds and ends that so many other places offer. The beds were very comfortable with high-quality cotton sheets. Having three full bathrooms and a half bath was bliss. Space was great, the views were spectacular and it was very easy to get to local and further afield attractions/beaches. There is a huge DVD collection, game tables in the garage and a gas grill on the upper deck, all of which added to the relaxation one looks for on vacation. Only slight niggle was the beds in the 'kids' room - they are cot beds and our teens found them a little uncomfortable, but overall, I'd highly recommend this home and would have no hesitation in renting again. Owner, Dean is very quick to respond to emails and refunded our deposit within 24 hours of vacating. Thank you for a great vacation on the beautiful Oregon Coast.

The light and the view of Tillamook Bay made this a blissful place to be.
