With a great beach for kids and beautiful views for adults, this lakefront cottage has everything you need for a Maine vacation you will never forget.
Swimming ,kayaking, BBQing, reading and relaxing are just steps away. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises, coffee and loons!
This newly renovated cottage features a well equipped kitchen ready for anything from hotdogs to Maine lobster. A large fridge for plenty of cool drinks, a dishwasher so you don't have to, the 5 burner stove or maybe just cook outside on the gas BBQ.
The camp is ideal for a small family. With 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with a twin over full size bunk bed, there are plenty of sleeping options. The new bathroom has a generous size shower and laundry.
The open floor plan of the main room lets you cook, dine or just relax on the couch, all while taking in the beautiful views of George's Pond and your own sand beach.
Young swimmers will like the easy gradual water depth, boaters will like the rock free beach to land your boat. Oh and the lake is excellent for fishing ... trout, bass and perch. George's Pond in June is one of the best lakes in Maine for bass fishing.
The cottage is moments away from a public boat launch on beautiful George's Pond where you can launch your boat.
Or just kayak out from our beach with the two kayaks provided for your enjoyment.
We offer the best of a Maine lakefront 'camp' experience but with the conveniences of a modern home.
We've opened our home to you. Welcome to 'Two Loons'.

As a family we grew up with Maine summer vacations on the lake. I couldn't imagine a childhood without it! And we're not growing up anytime soon.
There is an abundance of wildlife on the lake. You will see and hear loons, ducks, eagles and osprey.
You probably won't want to leave the pond but if you do there are plenty of day trips you can take to explore all of Downeast Maine.
Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. It was perfect for our first trip to Maine. The pond is so peaceful and tranquil. It was a wonderful offset to our exciting day trips to the majestic views in Acadia and the lobstah festival. It is a vacation we will never forget!!

As the famous orator ( Flip Wilson ) , once said , "What you see is what you get" , that's how it was , accurately described and depicted by the owner. Tim leavitt & co. were also very attentive to our frugal and meager needs , and although negligible , responded swiftly to our complete satisfaction.
The weather during our stay was fabulous considering late autumn , allowing us to swim , canoe , and suntan on occasion.
Kitchen was new and had everything we wanted.Bed was cosy.No bald eagle on sight , but I forgive.
• Incredibly well appointed – lovely tasteful modern Maine décor with every possible convenience, Lovely maps & artwork on walls, appliances,, etc. Could not be done any nicer.
• Flowers when we arrived & stocked wood by the fire pit
• 20 steps to the dock! Fun kayaks, great dock
• Clean, Clean, Clean!!!
• Great kitchen with every possible cooking amenity – down to parchment paper.
• Even basic fishing supplies in the storage shed for those who might need them – how considerate!
• Lake was very quiet – saw one boat on the water all week
• Love the windswept blueberry barrens on the way in – looks a lot like the heather fields of Scotland
Only slight drawbacks and minor ones at that:
• Pretty slow fishing and what was caught was incredibly small (mix of perch, bass & sunfish), and the house is pretty close to its neighbors though the old camp to the left was empty (to the right is a pretty active, family with watercraft, dogs, kids, etc). But extremely quiet most of the time.
Local Highlights –
Main Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island was incredibly crowded during our stay in early Sept – instead, go to the equally scenic and totally uncrowded Schoodic Point which is also part of the park, but attached to the mainland (they are about the same driving distance from the cabin). Have a great lunch at the quaint Corea on the Wharf, where you are sitting on a working lobster dock and the owner actually caught our lobster earlier that morning. His Jonah crab claws, from his own traps, are to die for!
As I tried to eat my weight in lobster, best was at Ruth & Whimpy’s right near the cabin on RT 1 - a one of a kind seacoast gem with its quirky décor. Get a hard shelled one if you can – harder to crack but much meatier (best steamers were at Young’s in Belfast an hour down the coast). Swallows Nest - local baker around the corner (open Wed 12n-4P only) makes an incredible blueberry pie - dense, tart and not goopy. Shack on Rt 1 at intersection (called YU Takeout) near Irving Gas - for value priced options like lobster & crab rolls (non-ME crab) - and Korean food! Steamers great everywhere, but best we found were at Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast on the way up
Farnsworth Museum in Rockland (1:15 south) def. worth trip to see largest collection of Wyeths (all 3 generations) outside of the Brandywine in DE.
Best house we ever rented! Owner responded quickly; very comfortable home and it was above what I expected to stay. Would return again!!
A five star view! My family had a wonderful time fishing, swimming and kayaking on the lake. We rented an additional kayak through a local business so that we all could paddle to the diving board located on an island in the middle of the lake. We spent our days either hiking at Acadia National Park or on some of the more local trails. Every afternoon the wind picked up and kept the bugs away for our night swimming. Very close to restaurants, grocery stores and other establishments. The house was clean and the owner was available to answer all of our questions.
We had a great week at Two Loons😊The place is amazing with own access to the lake and unlimited kayaks use which my husband and son loved. After breakfast until dinner we were swimming in the pond. We love the ducks and the view from the house. The house had everything we needed was a perfect for a family like us. We used all the recommendations Which Tim provided for us and we went visit Acadia and Bar Harbor we had a great time and one week in Two Loons was definitely too short@ In addition I had my birthday in July 4th and the neighbors did a great firework show from the lake and honestly my kids were more happy then from the show they used to watch in MYC@ the are is nice people are friendly and close to Maine Attractions we love it @ Thank You for sharing the house with us
Cottage was very well kept and it was a delight to stay there. Location was very close to Acadia so visiting the park on multiple days was not very time consuming.
