Swimming ,kayaking, BBQing, reading and relaxing are just steps away. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises, coffee and loons!
This newly renovated cottage features a well equipped kitchen ready for anything from hotdogs to Maine lobster. A large fridge for plenty of cool drinks, a dishwasher so you don't have to, the 5 burner stove or maybe just cook outside on the gas BBQ.
The camp is ideal for a small family. With 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with a twin over full size bunk bed, there are plenty of sleeping options. The new bathroom has a generous size shower and laundry.
The open floor plan of the main room lets you cook, dine or just relax on the couch, all while taking in the beautiful views of George's Pond and your own sand beach.
Young swimmers will like the easy gradual water depth, boaters will like the rock free beach to land your boat. Oh and the lake is excellent for fishing ... trout, bass and perch. George's Pond in June is one of the best lakes in Maine for bass fishing.
The cottage is moments away from a public boat launch on beautiful George's Pond where you can launch your boat.
Or just kayak out from our beach with the two kayaks provided for your enjoyment. (Additional kayaks available).
We offer the best of a Maine lakefront 'camp' experience but with the conveniences of a modern home.

Why Tim Leavitt chose Franklin
As a family we grew up with Maine summer vacations on the lake. I couldn't imagine a childhood without it! And we're not growing up anytime soon.
What makes this Cottage unique
There is an abundance of wildlife on the lake. You will see and hear loons, ducks, eagles and osprey. You probably won't want to leave the pond but if you do there are plenty of day trips you can take to explore all of Downeast Maine.

Cozy and Peaceful!!
We had a great week at Two Loons Lake! Tim was so accommodating that we really did feel right at home. The scenery was lovely and the setting was so peaceful. This place is far enough off the path of tourist rush to get away from it, but less than an hour from anything associated with Acadia National Park. We would highly recommend the Leavitt cottage on Two Loons Lake!! Thanks again, Tim.

Restful, relaxing, serene
My husband and I unwound from a hectic and stressful year at Two Loons. We only had a few days, but it was the best place for us to be. I imagine it's a more hopping place during the summer months, but in October, it is deliciously peaceful. For hours at a time, it felt like we had the lake to ourselves (this may be the Maine equivalent to a pond, but to us it was a lake). We bundled up and star-gazed from the dock, listening to coyotes calling to one another. Early mornings the mist over the lake was magical as the sun rose over Schoodic Mountain. The loons dove for their breakfast, and the ducks waited for us to go in so they could take a nap on the pier. I was thrilled to spot a bald eagle fly over one day, and to watch (the same one?) dine on a freshly caught fish mere yards away in the tree next door. For this nature lover, it was nirvana.
The cabin is quite comfy, cozy, and clean. On an overcast day we turned on the gas fireplace and snuggled on the couch. It was convenient to have the washer/dryer and dish washer. The kitchen had all the dishes, pots and pans that we could need (except for a tea kettle, but we heated our tea water in a pan). It was off-season, and most of the recommended eateries were closed, but we enjoyed two great meals at Finn's Irish Pub in Ellsworth. We ate in Bar Harbor another night, and found some good prepared food at Hannaford Supermarket. We honestly had to force ourselves to go out most days to do some sight-seeing. I just wanted to sit and gaze at the water.
We had the pleasure of meeting Tim during our stay, and he is so friendly and fun to talk to. Overall, it was the best vacation I've had in years. Just wonderful! Hope to go back one day.

Awesome! I loved it.
Two Loons is a very relaxing ,very peaceful place,it felt like I was one with nature. We took so many pictures of the sun rise, the dock and the lake. I wished we stayed longer. We only really got to stay in the place for half a day coz we explored Acadia national park. The house was clean and it had everything we needed inside and out. I even got to enjoy a few minutes of kayaking in the Indian summer weather. If we didn't have commitments back home we would have extended ( not quite sure if it was allowed). Will plan on coming back definitely to hike up to Schoodic and more. Great tips from owner Tim. We bought lobsters from Taunton .

A little slice of heaven!
My husband and I LOVED our stay at Two Loons! It was such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The house is beautiful - it had everything we need for our stay. The perfect vacation rental! The kitchen was especially nice and we really liked having a washer and dryer available as well. I can't say enough about how much we loved the view of the lake and spending time outdoors at Two Loons. We loved kayaking, jumping off the end of the dock (like a little kid!), laying in the hammock, making a fire, using the grill, watching the wildlife (loons, ducks, various birds), photographing nature, watching the morning fog roll over the lake, etc. Tim was such a great host and was able to answer any of the questions I had, including a miscommunication on the day of arrival. Easily reached by text & prompt with answers. This was by far one of my favorite places to stay! I didn't want to leave!
Perfect setting for a quiet lake getaway or home base for Acadia hikes
We planned this vacation to be a bit of staying on the lake relaxing, and a bit of hiking and exploring over at Acadia NP. Two Loons was the perfect location for our family. The lake is fabulous with a nice dock and sand beach. There were kayaks for our use so the kids were out every morning at sunrise for a peaceful morning paddle. The house had everything we needed - linens, towels, basic supplies, etc. The loons on the lake were great to wake up to each morning as the sun rose across the lake. Really just perfect.
We had a wonderful time at two loons! We explored acadia and bar harbor (40-50 minutes away) but could have spent all week at the house. Very relaxing right on the water with a pier for early mornings spent fishing and enjoying coffee. We kayaked, grilled dinners and made campfires. The house and kitchen were very well stocked and the owner was wonderful! We've stayed many places but this is one we would definitely come back to again! Perfect stay, thank you!!!
