Colorado Mountain Home - Borelli #3

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft Bedroom & Bunk Area, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8+)

The village of Green Mountain Falls is one of Colorado’s premier family vacation spots. Trout fishing, mountain climbing, hiking, shopping or dining, swimming, horseback riding or just relaxing with the wild life is the essence of a great family vacation. The hospitality of this village is second to none.

Our cabin, located at 10915 Iona, has been in our family for many years – mostly used as a 2nd home – a summer get-a-way. It has a panoramic view; yet it is snuggled in the mountains for that true mountain feel. The view from the living room, outside deck and back yard encompasses the entire valley below. Wildlife is abundant and several hiking trails are close to the house. For entertainment, there is a dance-dance machine…just like the ones you have seen in the mall; a shuffleboard game table, and various games, movies, puzzles and books. You will enjoy a small fishing lake with a gazebo located right in the middle of the downtown area, among the shops, great restaurants and cafes. It is close to Woodland Park, Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak. There are a multitude of activities all around the Green Mountain Falls area. The town is known for the beautiful Falls – which is a short hike to the first set of Falls, or you can do a longer hike to the second set of Falls. There is a lovely public outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts just around the corner from the small lake located in the center of the village.

This cabin is ideally suited for family reunions, scrapbooking, birthday parties, business retreats, weddings, wedding anniversaries, honeymoons, Air Force graduations, or any other special occasion. You can enjoy the cooler climate at an elevation of 8,700 ft. surrounded by aspens, pines and interesting wildlife. You will be just minutes away from all of the Pikes Peak region attractions such as Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Seven Falls, and the famous Flying W Ranch. The Royal Gorge and river rafting are only an hour drive and the historic mining town of Cripple Creek is only 35 miles away. There are bountiful activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, antique shopping, museums, and fine arts. We know you will enjoy your visit to this beautiful mountain village.

Awesome views, cozy home!

My family and I just left this beautiful home this morning and we are already talking about when we can return!

I’m glad we arrived during the daylight hours because the drive up to the house was no joke. It is a one-way dirt path but our mini-van handled the climb with ease. Once we drove the path a couple times it was no big deal.

Six of us stayed in this home and we had plenty of room. The beds were super comfy, the towels were nice and fluffy and the WiFi was fast! We had fun playing the shuffleboard game and DDR in the basement. We loved exploring outdoors also. We saw plenty of deer and a few rabbits. My kids were hoping to see a bear but no luck there!

The house was clean and well stocked. The location was perfect for us. The house feels like you are snuggled up in the middle of nowhere but actually you are less than 10 minutes from several food choices and shopping. It was an easy drive into Manitou Springs and Woodland Park.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and became comfortable with the mountain roads for the area, it can be challenging to some visitors. It is still a little early in the season for the Bears to up and about. The owners have been very diligent in their efforts for Guest Comfort and are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank-you for this review and we hope you revisit when next in the area.

We had an amazing time celebrating Christmas in this cabin.

When we opened the front door we knew we had rented the right place! The western motif and soft leather furniture put us in a world away from the hubbub of daily life. But, let me hit some more substantive points. First I want to say this place was very clean. We have stayed in others where you could tell sheets had not been changed and other shortcuts taken. Not here and we really appreciated that fact! We had six adults and three kids (5 and under) in our group. Each couple had a bedroom, one in the loft, and the kids had bunks downstairs, though there were more bunk beds than we needed. The kitchen was equipped well enough for us to take care of our meals. We all fit around the dining table but did not find a booster chair or high chair; not an issue for us. The game room is a nice area for the little ones to spread out their toys. Fun adult games here but might want to bring little ones toys as we did. Outside, we walked with our 3 and 5 year old grandkids down to the play area. They easily made it down the trail. In fact, my son, his 3 year old, and I decided to hike the Mt Dewey Trail which is close by. The little guy was piggybacked very little going up and made it all the way back down. My last thought concerning the cabin other than how much we enjoyed our stay is that the warning concerning a four-wheel drive vehicle should not be taken lightly. I was glad we did not have snow and ice to deal with going up the road and in/out of the driveway.

Owner's Response: We are very happy you enjoyed your stay in the home and the area. Yes, the town of Green Mountain Falls is largely built on the mountain side which make the roads interesting at times. We do recommend 4-wheel drive to all our Guests and I am glad you choose to listen. Thank-you for your wonderful review. We hope you will visit again.

We had a great time and enjoyed the house. The Deck off the side of the mountain was breathtaking. We have a 1.5 and 5 year old and it was great to use the playground equipment to keep them busy. Close to Pikes Peak and The North Pole. THe local place to eat called The Pantry was out of this world. Neighborhood was quiet and people were so nice.

A great house tucked up in the mountain.

This has is fabulous for those who enjoy wildlife. Each morning we woke up to many species of birds from downy woodpeckers, Ruby red throat hummingbirds, spotted towhee and so much more. We had deer sleeping below and 2 fawns running up and down the hill. The house sits just off the trail head to Catamount, Thomas, and Dewey. It was stocked with all the dishes and supplies we needed to make meals at home when we wanted. It offers a lot of space for multiple families if you choose-both bedrooms down stairs have bunk beds, 2 rooms on the main level and another bed upstairs. A great place to stay if you want to be close to many attractions, yet out of town and around the beauty of the mountains.
