Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful time at Catatoga Lake. We liked the big comfortable house with the decks and lake view very much. We wished the large attractive living room with the big soft leather furniture had more light. The advertisement for the house needs a more accurate photo of the front to show the size and appeal of the house. Our group of 12 did a lot of fun things. Hikes to water falls, tubing in a near by river, fly fishing, rented a pontoon boat on Lake Toxaway, paddle boarding and canoeing in Lake Catatoga, swimming at the health club, sitting by the fire pit at the lake in the evenings, trips to Asheville, Cashiers and Brevard, etc. The weather was very good and the cooler days away from our hotter home states was very welcome. Thank you, Julia D.

We will be back

  • 5 of 5

We spent our family reunion at the Lodge and we could not have been happier. The cooler temperatures, wonderful hikes, canoe rides, fly fishing and evening fire pit gatherings were just a few of our experiences. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and had everything we could have wanted including salt. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed and I might add it was spotless.

Thank you to the owners for sharing a little piece of heaven.

The Catatoga Lodge, a large three story home perfect for our large multigenerational family

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Lodge for a week in mid-July, 2016. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more. It is a beautiful home and very well constructed. The six bedrooms and six bathrooms worked out very well for our three-generational family vacation.

We loved the great room which was large enough to support many different activities such as reading, working puzzles, playing card games etc.

The downstairs porch was where the adults would gather in the early mornings to look out at the pond and visit while the youngsters were asleep. The kitchen is large and very functional. We also made use of the extra refrigerator in the back hallway. During the day we enjoyed canoeing, playing tennis on the four very well-kept soft courts and swimming in the beautiful swimming pool next to the clubhouse. We also took advantage of the many walking paths, especially the one leading to the waterfall.

All in all it was a lovely week and we hope to return again in the future.

Absolutely gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

The house was so lovely and very comfortable . There was plenty of space for everyone and the fire places were so great. The kitchen was well appointed and everything one might need was there. The surrounding property is fantastic, great trails and so private. The only suggestion I have is that the house is dark at night and there needs to be a little better lighting in the main living area and beside the beds. Our group of siblings would definitely stay there again because we were lucky enough to hit the peak of the leaf season, which was our intention. Wonderful property!!

Wonderful Private Family Vacation for All Ages

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful weekend with our extended family at Lake Lodge on Lake Catatoga. The home is beautiful and inviting with large rooms, bathrooms and living areas. The setting on Lake Catatoga is ideal for families. We enjoyed the upper porches for morning coffee, the lower dock for drinks and smores and spent endless hours on the lake. The lake is a nice, manageable size for families. From our 6 year olds to our teenagers, all were able to enjoy the lake activities. The boathouse (just down from the house) provides wonderful canoes and kayaks and our teenagers spent hours fishing around the lake with great success. We rented paddle boards from White Squirrel Paddle Boards (delivery included) and the adults down to our six year olds enjoyed paddle boarding around the lake. The kids also had a blast jumping off the dock while the grandparents/parents lounged on the dock. The clubhouse was a fun change of scenery with a beautiful pool, hot tub, weight room and pool table and games. We also enjoyed a nice family hike to the nearby waterfall and a morning of golf at Sapphire. With lots of water activity in a quiet, private setting, this was the ideal spot to spend a weekend catching up with family.
