Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful time at Catatoga Lake. We liked the big comfortable house with the decks and lake view very much. We wished the large attractive living room with the big soft leather furniture had more light. The advertisement for the house needs a more accurate photo of the front to show the size and appeal of the house. Our group of 12 did a lot of fun things. Hikes to water falls, tubing in a near by river, fly fishing, rented a pontoon boat on Lake Toxaway, paddle boarding and canoeing in Lake Catatoga, swimming at the health club, sitting by the fire pit at the lake in the evenings, trips to Asheville, Cashiers and Brevard, etc. The weather was very good and the cooler days away from our hotter home states was very welcome. Thank you, Julia D.

Great location, beautiful views

  • 4 of 5

There are 6 couples who stayed at The Lodge. Overall, our comments are positive. The property is impressive and we enjoyed our various hikes. We were disappointed that the exercise facility was not at our disposal as it was rented out to an organization but our rent had included our access to that facility. The bedrooms and baths were great but the gathering room had very dim lighting and we had to move lamps from the bedrooms in order to see to play cards and games in the evening. There is a leak under the kitchen sink that needs to be corrected. Otherwise the kitchen functioned well. There was dining seating for just 8 but the house accommodates 12 and we ate in shifts as we were 12 which was annoying. We do plan to return next year and hope these few issues can be addressed before that.

So UNIQUE & UNEXPECTED!

  • 5 of 5

I reserved the property not knowing much about the area or the resort itself. The area and resort are BEAUTIFUL, with breath taking views! The pictures of the lodge don't do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of amenities and activities available to us during our stay. Peace and serenity goes without saying, yet when we wanted a more active day it was easily accessible. The lodge is very spacious and comfortable, don't let the cover photo fool you.

Family Fall vacation

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was perfectly decorated and accommodating. We enjoyed having separate suites for each family. The grounds of Catatoga were naturally beautiful. Although the trout fishing experience was somewhat dampened, we had a great time.

We will be back

  • 5 of 5

We spent our family reunion at the Lodge and we could not have been happier. The cooler temperatures, wonderful hikes, canoe rides, fly fishing and evening fire pit gatherings were just a few of our experiences. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and had everything we could have wanted including salt. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed and I might add it was spotless.

Thank you to the owners for sharing a little piece of heaven.
