Perfect Stay

Super relaxing stay! Loved everything about the home – especially enjoyed juicing oranges in the morning and roasting marshmallows in the eve! Great communication with Pete and would love to stay again!

We had the bestttt time in Palm Springs, this house is perfect for two adult couples. We loved all the outdoor spaces - fire pit, pool, outdoor dining, and communication with the owner was easy. We would definitely recommend!

Just what the doctor ordered!

My partner and I spent a wonderful week here ... wish it could have been longer. The jacuzzi and pool were just what we needed to unwind and relax. The home was exactly that ... our home away from home!

Excellent property

This property was almost perfect. It was very clean and spacious. Just a few blocks away from the shopping center. The neighborhood was quite and the lemon tree was a plus. The only down side was the beds were really hard and the pool is small. But with that said we still slept very well after swimming all day.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We had an amazing weekend New Years Getaway! It was EXACTLY what we needed. We enjoyed all of the aspects of this house: pool/spa, fire pit, bbq, fruit trees and it perfectly fit our needs! We made cocktails with the tangelos and our pups loved the yard. Pete is extremely attentive and checks in to make sure everything is going ok. Don’t think twice about booking this place, just do it.

Broadmoor Paradise

Just had a wonderful 12 days at this property. Peter was super responsive to any request- just a joy to communicate with. The house and yard are very private and quiet - only a block off the #111 and could not hear a thing. A short Uber to town. Loved the pool and spa - didn’t even need to heat the pool! The fire pit was perfect for star gazing at night. Highly recommend this property - 10 stars! E and R

Beautiful Property That Lives Large

We really enjoyed our stay here and how many different areas there were inside, outside - front and back. It lives large giving you lots of areas to relax and enjoy. High quality kitchen wear and appliances, excellent TV choices and watching area and of course excellent pool and spa. The years is beautifully landscaped and we loved having fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in the mornings. Communications with the owner was nearly immediate and always extremely friendly and helpful. Will highly recommend this gem to family and friends!

Another amazing PS experience!

I believe this was the 6th(?) year we’ve rented one of Sean and Peter’s homes in PS. This is our first time at this home and it was as beautiful, stylish and comfortable as we’ve come to expect from them. We loved how this place offers multiple sitting/gathering areas and how much thought went into each of them. I don’t know how they do it but they manage to provide everything a guest might need! Our two dogs favorite spot was the cool shady grass areas in the back yard. Thanks again for a relaxing vacation!

Can't wait to return!

This home is perfect in every way! Pool, hot tub, lounge chairs and sofa in a private garden with a view of the mountains. The back yard has small lawn, fire pit, lounge chairs, dining table. and gas BBQ. The plants are gorgeous. The house has a large living room with a soft area rug and very comfortable sofa and chairs. The fully stocked kitchen is great. The main shower is AMAZING - huge, tiled space with sliding glass door to let the outdoors in. The beds and linens are very comfortable, and everything is absolutely immaculate. The house is and gardens are so stylish, we absolutely loved our time here and cannot wait to return!

Excellent in every way!

Our stay at this house was all we had hoped for and more. We chose it for it’s mid-century modern design but were happy with a lot more. The salt water pool and hot tub were perfectly heated. There were two bikes in the garage we made use of. The house was clean and the kitchen was extremely well-stocked with all the pots, dishes, utensils and other supplies we needed. There were multiple areas to lounge around in whether we wanted sun or not.. The outdoor fire pit, eating area and bbq were all high end and in excellent condition. We also enjoyed the company of a rabbit that occasionally made an appearance and we watched two doves build a nest and then proceed to incubate eggs. We were sad not to have been there long enough to see them hatch. All in all this house made our palm springs golf vacation thoroughly enjoyable.

Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely loved everything about this house! This was a surprise for my daughters 10th birthday celebration and I am so glad I chose this gem. Location was in a quiet neighborhood which is what I was looking for. It was also conveniently near everything you would need if you wanted to shop , eat or needed some quick essentials. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. The warm pool was a definite plus. My daughter and I would get in almost every morning and every night. Loved the shower right by the pool. Bedrooms were very nice with comfortable beds and clean linen that smelled very nice. Kitchen, laundry, bathrooms had everything you needed. This is definitely a home that I would like to come back to when New York winter comes along. Pete was extremely attentive and would answer any question within the snap of a finger. Thank you for opening up your home to us. My daughter fell in love with this house and I know we would love to come back.

Modern house, Perfect pool, Quiet location, Great stay!

Beautiful, spotless, well appointed house that worked perfectly for our girls weekend in Palm Springs. I booked it based on the pictures, and they did not disappoint. It literally looks like a magazine layout, but had practical, comfortable furnishings. Every aspect of our vacation was accommodated, even down to the Sonos system, so we had lovely vacation music going inside. Mornings were walks to Starbucks, then breakfast on the back patio. We lounged by the pool all day, then took quick uber rides to Palm Springs downtown for dinner. and some nightlife. We're on vacation and aren't into cooking dinner (although the kitchen has everything). Then back to the house for quiet evening chats in the outdoor fire pit seating area. The check in/check out was quick and easy. Not much to do to prep to leave, which was lovely. I hate having to clean at the end of a stay. This house literally made the trip for us. Everything was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. When we have another PS trip, the availability of this house will be the first step to narrowing down dates. It is completely perfect.

Awesome (Zen) Week!!

My wife and I recently completed an awesome week @ Zen II. Just about everything was as expected, as advertised, and as we like it...relaxing and hassle free. It was easy start relaxing within hours of checking in. The one part that was not easy...LEAVING! I was ready to re-book and stay the next week. We have rented properties in various parts of the valley in the past. This was one of the smaller ones, but it didn't really feel that way. It really has two distinct outdoor areas...the pool/spa in the front, and the fire pit/outdoor dining area (with fruit trees and a wild rabbit) in the back. The layout of interior is a bit different from many other homes, but it was easy to adjust. The house was well stocked with just about all our needs. The kitchen had a wide assortment of cookware, utensils, and dinnerware. We really didn't venture out for much in the way of supplies...other than wine, of course. The location was good. The house is within walking distance of the "main drag" going East/West, and another main street going North. But when you were on site, the rest of world was "out there somewhere" beyond the surrounding privacy hedge. The pool was a good temp for cooling down on hot days. The spa got hot like the wife likes it. The fire pit was nice on the nights that were cool enough to light it. It was clear that the owners are proud of their property and sincerely want you to enjoy it...and we did!

Better than Advertised

One of our top VRBO rentals. Description of the property is accurate. Cleanliness, spaciousness, and ease of getting into the property was a huge plus. Pool is perfect for a couple and includes floats and comfy lounge chairs. The proximity to downtown Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, and Coachella Valley was perfect. We enjoyed Lulu’s restaurant downtown for many meals, and the Vons supermarket is just across the way. Very convenient to everything Palm Springs. Peter was also a pleasure to chat with. Thank you for a great stay!!!

One of Our All Time Favorites

This place was an absolute dream. I think everyone agreed that the home was one of their favorite parts of the trip. The architecture of the home truly embodied the Palm Spring's atmosphere, and the decor was incredibly welcoming. Pete was a fabulous host every step of the way.

The Perfect Desert Getaway

Coming through the front door/gate of the property is like entering a secret garden that is simply inviting and peaceful. This home is such a sweet gem tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts were so gracious to allow our beloved pet to join us at the property and made the stay so complete. ( By the way he loved the nearby golf course.) The pool and jacuzzi are lovely, the master suite and bath room are splendid, the fireplace perfect. Everything you need and more is there. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I am not really a huge fan of Palm Springs, but this little oasis has me rethinking that. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thanks Peter!

Amazing as always!

Our 3rd time here, we never tire of it. This house is Goldilocks 's dream, everything is jusssst right. Space, privacy, peace, quiet, comfort, greenery, well appointed in every way, decor that doesn't get in the way...once you are there, you need for nothing. The pool is petite but heavenly, honestly, we hardly leave. It's perfection.

Sean and I both grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been coming down to Palm Springs for the past 15 years. What brought us to the desert is the nearly guaranteed sunshine, modern architecture, relative peace from the bustle of a large urban center, and the great hiking trails and mountain vistas. We have seen Palm Springs evolve with a new 'hipper' scene including restaurants, cultural events (film festivals, art exhibits, etc.), and a variety of healthy lifestyle options, while still maintaining it's small town charm. At 'Zen House II' we try to capture all of the above with simple, stylish, artful design.
