Gorgeous, beautifully-appointed 1912 Craftsman bungalow in the premiere walking district of Seattle - theaters, restaurants, shopping and more shopping, parks and trails for walking and biking; close to bus lines to downtown Seattle, the Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Center and the Sound Transit trains; near the tulip fields and ferries to the San Juan Islands and historic areas north of Seattle; Mt. Rainier and Mount St. Helens are a day-trip; quiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Relax on the outside patio for some quiet time, enjoy a short walk to one of the neighborhood theaters or restaurants (sushi, Italian, Japanese, Thai, vegetarian, fusion, pizza, etc., etc.). There's nothing you'll need that you can't find in Wallingford. This is the large downstairs unit, with southern-exposure garden windows, a private entrance that is accessed from the side of the house, and a guest-available garden patio.

I live in the main part of this house - renting out the two separate apartments. I enjoy meeting new people and take great pleasure in being able to share this part of the country with others. There's so much to do here you'll have to come back time and time again to see it all.

Garnett Hundley purchased this apartment in 1987
I bought my house in 1987. Once I toured this neighborhood, I knew it was for me. The downstairs apartment was part of the house when I moved in - and has provided opportunity for 'sharing the wealth' all these years. It was fully remodeled approximately 6 years ago to my specifications; a lovely space.
You'll be able to look out the back kitchen window at the lovely garden, enjoy the planter boxes that surround the window, enjoy a quiet and peaceful sleep in the bedroom or living room, enjoy the bright sun, walk to the park across the street. If the day is warm, open the front door and let day in - or go outside and sit in the patio area, surrounded by red raspberries, flowers and growing vegetables - meet the neighbors walking the area.
Well maintained and stocked by a carying and hospitable owner.
This is our third time staying here and it won’t be the last.
This darling little basement apartment is cozy, always clean, has a really comfy bed and a full kitchen. The bedroom is large with an ample closet, writing desk and overstuffed reading chair.
The neighborhood is one of the best in Seattle, great for walking to shops and restaurants.
Garnett is a gracious hostess, ready to help if the need should arise. Garnett's Place is 5 stars in our book.
The apartment was a nice size for two people. All the amenities you could want.
The bed was amazing. Location was great. Transportation was in walking distance and lots of places to eat and shop near by. The bathroom is small especially for taller people but very functional. We enjoyed out stay very much.
While a bit funky in outside appearance, the downstairs unit is quite nice. Very clean, very comfortable, very roomy. Despite concerns about street parking, we found a spot across the street every night. The kitchen was well stocked, the unit was quite large for 2 people, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Seeing this was our first time in Seattle we really knew nothing about the area but we couldn't have been more satisfied with this wonderful property. The location was pretty much perfect seeing the neighborhood had so much to offer in walking distance. Garnett's home, and yard, is such a peaceful and beautiful place to come back to after a long day and for sitting and drinking coffee in the morning. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and though it was stated the step up in the bathroom might make it feel a little tight we didn't feel that way at all, and my husband is 6'3". We also loved the 2 house cats that welcomed us home every evening. This property is a gem and we hope to be able to return next summer. Thank you Garnett for creating such an amazing little place to escape to.
