Wonderful house, met our needs
Staying on the quiet side of the island is always the best place to be. The house was fully stocked with the exception of food. We could have used one more bathroom, but we made it work. It was also nice that we could let the two kids play together in the house without bothering neighbors. Thank you for a lovely cottage!
Peace and tranquility found!
Charming and old fashioned decor perfectly suited our family of five. Enjoyed being on the "Quiet Side", but close enough to the action of Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Sitting on the back porch was particularly relaxing after a day of exploring the area.
Enjoyed our location
The house is steps away from a rocky shore and the marina. The little town is just a short walk up the street. We hiked or biked in Acadia National Park every day and the traffic was never a problem. We walked to the marina for a sunset sail one evening and a lobster tour on another morning using the company Sail Acadia. Southwest Harbor is much quieter/less crowded than Bar Harbor. The owner, Christie, is very responsive and generous. The pancakes and maple syrup provisions were much appreciated.
Great time at a beautiful destination!
My family of 5 loved our stay!
Nice house. Great location!
We loved our trip to southwest harbor! We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the town and the proximity to hiking and kayaking. The house was just right. It included all the essentials and then some. We would definitely come back!
Beautiful, clean, well-kept home with so much charm. Very comfortable!
We loved our time at the cottage. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. The owners really want you to feel like you're at home. Our family enjoyed the deck, the views, the games, the books, the movies, and the proximity to The Upper Deck and other restaurants. The house is in the perfect location for exploring all that Mr. Desert Island and Acadia have to offer. Our son didn't want to leave when the week was over! Simply put, it is a fantastic place to stay!
Many ferries are available to explore surrounding islands. Also, whale watching trips, lobster fishing excursions, and sunset wind jammer cruises add an element of adventure to any vacation.
