THE CABIN AT QUARTZ CREEK

Satisfy your taste for adventure at The Cabin at Quartz Creek.

All-Inclusive Rate: $345/night — No Hidden Cleaning Fees

Escape to historic Pitkin, Colorado, and stay in a distinctive mountain cabin directly on Quartz Creek, with straightforward pricing and no surprise cleaning or checkout fees.

200 FEET OF QUARTZ CREEK — FLOW THROUGH THE PROPERTY

Quartz Creek flows through 200 feet of the property, creating a private, expansive creek-front setting.

Wooden stairs connect the cabin balcony to the water’s edge and open onto creek-front bottomland. Relax in the wrought-iron two-person swing, fish for trout, watch wildlife, explore the willows and wildflowers, or simply listen to the creek.

Three large decks overlook the water, and the sound of Quartz Creek can often be heard throughout the cabin. The half-acre+ property includes pines, willows, summer wildflowers and brilliant fall color.

This isn’t simply a cabin near Quartz Creek — Quartz Creek flows through the property.

OHV & MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE — START AT THE CABIN

Bring the toys! The property offers ample off-street parking, including adjacent space for large trucks and trailers.

ATVs and OHVs may be ridden on designated Pitkin roads, allowing guests to ride directly from the cabin into the extensive Gunnison National Forest trail system. Guests must follow posted speed limits, local laws and Town of Pitkin ordinances.

Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, backpacking, photography and wildlife viewing are all readily accessible from the Quartz Creek Valley.

A DISTINCTIVE HISTORIC CABIN

This handcrafted cabin combines historic character with modern improvements, including upgraded insulation, double-glazed windows, updated doors, roofing and Class-A chimney components.

The spacious living room features an enormous lichen-stone fireplace, wood-burning insert, elk-antler chandelier, mounts and rustic wildlife hides. Comfortable chairs with imported mountain-sheepskin throws create a warm setting for relaxing after a day outdoors. Large windows look toward Quartz Creek.

A dining nook surrounds an antique round table, and the well-stocked kitchen includes an electric stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, crock pot, electric skillet, cookware, essentials and more! A substantial 30 x 30 antique butcher block provides a durable, convenient work surface for meal preparation, serving and gathering in the kitchen.

Three large decks provide inviting spaces for outdoor meals, relaxation and creek listening.

Host profile image

Middle-aged professional conservationist couple, we explore the world seeking eco-tourism venues, and seek to strive adventurous places with special people and families. The Quartz Creek Valley is one such special place, with few options to enjoy the area, without needing the equipment and where-with-all to camp in the high elevation.

We also offer a unique Caribbean adventure cottage HAWKSNEST HIDEAWAY located steps from a sandy beach in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands (no passport needed to visit).

Why they chose this property

Grew up exploring the Rocky Mountains and seek to spend more time there in the future. The family investment allows this while providing access to a limited number of others to enjoy this special area in comfort. The Cabin was built in 1975 and refurbished in 2011 and 2025. Five generations have now enjoyed the cabin, and many continue the adventure on a regular basis.

What makes this property unique

A concept we call rugged luxury. In a short distance one can be practically in the wilderness and experience those attributes, then return to the warm family hearth and relish in rustic luxury. Hence rugged-luxury combines these two concepts into a single holiday experience. Satisfy Your Taste For Adventure - visit The Cabin At Quartz Creek!
