Pets are allowed on the beach in Fort Morgan. Beach house on a quiet, secluded beach in Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores.Fort Morgan is located on the most Western end of the peninsula, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico to the south and Mobile Bay to the West ending at Mobile Point.Even though Fort Morgan has a Gulf Shores mailing address, it is actually an unincorporated part of Baldwin County. Fort Morgan fought to stay out of Gulf Shores for years and won, wanting to keep it as natural, pristine and uncrowded as possible. You won't find the elbow to elbow beaches covered in high rises out here, but there is plenty to do if you go to the beach for that laid back small town feeling. There are only 3 large condo complexes on the entire stretch of Fort Morgan, The only other accomodations offered are private houses. The further out you go the more narrow the peninsula, until you can see both the Gulf and Bay from the road as it narrows No busy commercial congestion. Relax on the covered deck with excellent views of the gulf of Mexico and Mobile bay . Spend the day just steps away on the uncrowded white, sandy beach. Find shells, watch for dolphins and swim in the clear blue waters of the gulf. Close to the house is historic Fort Morgan, Fort Morgan Fort Morgan State Historic Site is a don't miss for history buffs. The tour of the fort is quite informative and interesting to walk through. Right before the entrance to the actual fort and ferry is Burgoyne Rd on the gulf side where you can park and walk out to Fort Morgan fishing beach to fish or go shelling, or turn left when you hit the beach and look for the smoke stack of the Ivanhoe about 150 yards off shore. Go at low tide to see it though, you can also snorkel or scuba around the wreck, just don't touch or take anything from the wreckage. For fishermen and boaters there are boat launches into the bay as well as charter fishing at the Fort Morgan Marina, Recreate among endangered species and migratory birds. Over 4,000 acres of beach dunes, scrub dunes, fresh water marsh, salt water marsh, and maritime forest make up the Bon Secour national wildlife refuge just west of gulf shores. This coastal refuge is part of the central gulf ecosystem unit part of the migration route of the monarch butterfly, the refuge is also known for its more than 120 species of birds - making it a paradise for bird watchers. Along with birding, the refuge offers opportunities for hiking, swimming, photography, collecting sea shells, and boating. Fishermen enjoy both fresh and saltwater fishing.
Ride the auto ferry to Dauphin Island for a tour of the sea lab and estuarium. The Estuarium is an exciting educational public aquarium highlighting the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. It includes the 10,000 square foot Exhibit Hall, a 7,000 gallon sting ray touch pool, and the Living Marsh Boardwalk. This facility has 31 aquariums totaling over 30,000 gallons with more than 100 species on display. The Estuarium showcases the plants, animals, and other natural resources found in the Estuary and its surrounding marine habitats. Through beautiful visual exhibits and engaging interactive exhibits, the Estuarium will leave you with a broader understanding of the interactions that take place in Mobile Bay, the fourth largest estuary system in the United States. Bird-watching and sunbathing are two of the favorite activities on this island paradise. A campground and hiking trail are part of the sanctuary, giving visitors opportunities to spend time observing the neotropical migrant birds and native wildflowers. In the spring, the park is visited by bird lovers anxious to view the annual bird migration. So much to do! ATTENTION:We are a property participating in wildlife conservation ,so the property is surrounded by natural vegetation to encourage wildlife activity. We are in a no mow zone. Habitat conservation for wild species is one of the most important issues facing the environment today. The grasslands are natural areas protected for wildlife conservation. Observe birds or other wildlife from afar so as not to disturb them. These “no mow areas” now provide increased wildlife viewing opportunities, the sounds of birds, photo ops and research opportunities. Restaurants are not a scarcity in Fort Morgan. There is Sassy Bass Amazin' Grill, Tacky Jacks 2 - Fort Morgan, Jesses on The Bay, Sassy Bass Island Grill, Coast Restaurant, Kiva Grill, Peninsula Restaurant and Grill, during the summer there are also food trucks set up in front of The Beach Club Resort & Spa that are open to the public, pick up a great seafood boil to go at Fresh Market Seafood.
If you feel the need for more humans and traffic its a 20-25 minute drive into Gulf Shores, or cut through the state park to head for OBA

About the host
Hosted by Cheryle/Owner
We have been coming to the Gulf Shores area for over three decades. Our family, which includes two boys and a granddaughter, all share a deep love for the beach and fishing. It has long been our dream to own a home in this beautiful coastal region. In 2009, we fulfilled that dream by purchasing our first vacation property. Since then, we've expanded our portfolio, now owning a total of four rental homes, with two located near our initial purchase and one situated directly on the bay. We also maintain a personal residence just a few miles from our beach houses. Given that our primary home is only about a 4-hour drive away, we're able to visit the area frequently and look forward to sharing this cherished coastal haven with others.
Why they chose this property
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation stay in the neighborhood across the street, and decided this was the perfect location for our vacation home. In 2009, we purchased our first property here. Then in 2015, we designed and built a new home. Just last year, in 2022, we purchased and completely remodeled a bay front home. And most recently, in 2023, we designed and built this current home. We look forward to one day retiring and making this area our permanent home.
What makes this property unique
This home offers two master suites, making it ideal for families. It's conveniently located, with a short 2 minute walk to the beach and a short drive to golf courses and the public boat dock. The nearby OWA amusement park is just 30 minutes away. Situated on a quiet street, the home is pet-friendly, with pets allowed on the beach when leashed. The house is completely carpetless and non-smoking, providing a clean and comfortable environment. The open lots in the backyard offer great views. Additionally, the owners have three more homes available and offer discounts to repeat renters and those booking multiple properties.
