Wake up to the sound of gentle waves and breakfast overlooking the lake.
This charming cabin sits on the Long Pond shore front. It is one of a cluster of four cabins (the original tiny houses!), each rented separately. We have worked hard to preserve the unique, 1930's fish camp character. If you are looking to commune with nature, seek a simple respite from modern life or just want to enjoy Long Pond, this space is for you.
This cabin (we call it Dick's after our grandfather) has a shorefront room with queen bedroom on one side and kitchenette on the other. The living room has a sitting area with couch, chairs and a dining area. There is a fireplace with a gas insert. The bathroom (with lake view) has an old fashioned claw foot tub that is fitted with a hand shower. You can sit in the bath and look out onto the pond! There is a screened porch with cafe table and chairs and amazing water views. The kitchenette has sink, microwave, small fridge, toaster oven, induction cook top and plenty of dishes and cookware. Guests have access to a grill and picnic table outside.
Dick's Cabin is near it's neighbors, but carefully arranged to give a sense of privacy. The waterfront with small dock sits just next to this cabin. Although the waterfront is shared between the four cabins, it is rarely used by anyone except the residents of this cabin. If you have a larger group, it is possible to rent cabins together for an old-fashioned fish camp experience.
We're at the end of a private, sandy road and located next to Pinewoods Camp. When the camp is in session from mid June through Labor Day you can hear their music until 11:00 PM each night. In early June and September, the pond is wonderfully quiet. You can enjoy the area's wildlife, swim in the clear waters, hike miles of nature trails or use it as a jump-off point to explore the Cape and Boston.

This was the cutest cabin with the best view! A little hard to get to which kind of makes the greatest stays- tucked back lake side! We absolutely had the loveliest time enjoying the relaxing views!
Loved this little camp! Clean and tidy, had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful and clean. Loved waking to the breeze coming off the water. Would highly recommend.
The absolute best!!! Quiet...except for the first class music floating over from the dance camp in the evening but for us that's a plus. Cool breezes off the pond, a swim every morning and evening, a good book,...perfect
We stayed at Dicks cabin, it was absolutely perfect. Our host was incredibly accommodating and the family was friendly and kind. The cabin is adorable from the furniture to decor it feels like the perfect getaway from day to day life. We 100% and will be back ourselves!
Lovely views and great access to the lake which is steps from the cabins front door. Perfect if you like to come back from a day of whale watching and just chill with some great take out and talk about your favorite part of the day. Thanks, Susan.
We enjoyed every bit of our stay. Being right on the water was so picturesque. Despite cooler weather during our stay, I enjoyed the refreshing lake each day. The water is incredibly clear and crisp. The cabin had everything two people need for a short getaway. We loved hearing about the family history with this spot, too!
I gifted my husband a solo retreat in the woods by the lake for his birthday! He has been talking about needing to get away in the woods by himself to recharge after teaching a rigorous academic year. He came home happy and grateful! Thank you for hosting my husband and allowing him some peace and solace!
Don't know your definition of heaven but this is pretty much mine.
Best bits of Girl Scout Camp but w grown-up comforts...does that make sense? Fresh water pond directly outside the door, birds singing, a dock to read books on, canoe, 4-star dinner music from the dance camp next door, comfortable bed, didn't use the electric fireplace but it looks great, worthy kitchenette & kind owners nearby to explain the wifi. We'll be back any chance we get.

Cute rustic
The cottage was cute and very rustic. It was ok for what we needed during this trip. Improved heat source would have been helpful. Only 1 space heater. Fee was a bit high for the size and lack of “features”. My husband couldn’t stand in the shower at 6’1”.

Hi Peggy. The cabin does appeal to those who like cute and rustic. We have added an electric oil radiator style space heater in addition to the traditional one.
Thanks for your feedback.

Great view but that's it
The floors are slanted which triggered my vertigo. The linens on the bed smelled like they hadn't been washed in months. The bed was yellow stained. We found several carpenter ants and one night we had a critter scratching under the bed, assumed it was a mouse. The couch cushions were filthy and difficult to sleep on, since I couldn't sleep in the bedroom due to my vertigo in the room. The cabin is a potential health hazard due to the possible black mold on the walls. We cut our trip short by 2 days due to the awful conditions and went to Boston, only to find the Marriot was cheaper to stay than the nasty cabin. Wish we would have left sooner but we couldn't get our money back, so we toughed it out for 3 nights. Don't recommend staying here.

Our 100 year-old cabin in the woods is worlds away from an urban Boston hotel. Customers looking for that sort of setting, would not be happy in our beautiful, quiet, remote and private waterfront setting. Our airbnb listing clearly describes our unique property which has resulting in numerous 5-star ratings and years of happy guests - many of whom choose to return. Unfinished pine in cabins like ours, darkens at it ages. This is not mold, but natural aging - a rustic look that is very popular. The cabin (including all of the linens) are cleaned between each visit by our experienced housekeeping staff. We have a full stock of replacements are happy to supply them upon request. The guest did not complain, request a refund or provide any chance for us to remedy their discomfort during the visit. We pride ourselves on being customer oriented and would have responded quickly to remedy her complaints. We don't encourage guests sleeping on the couch. If you require separate beds for each guest, please notify us ahead of time and we can make arrangements to provide a suitable bed setup.
This cabin is a slice of Heaven on earth! So incredibly peaceful and beautiful! It’s quietly nestled in the trees-every morning we sipped coffee while looking out over Long Pond! We were in MA from ME to attend the Levitate Music Festival in Marshfield. We were able to canoe in the mornings and enjoy nature then attend the festival in the afternoons. We had SUCH a great time, we plan to stay over a week next year!
I highly recommend this space!!!
This little cabin on the pond Exceeded my expectations of what I was looking for . Nostalgic, quaint.
I didnt want to leave! Long Pond is scenic. Sit on the dock and watch fish jumping early eve. property in very close proximity to Halfway Pond Conservation area which has excellent nature trails . i walked every day . iconic feel of simpler days sittin by the fire ( gas log) and reading . Soak in a claw foot tub. waking up to pond slowly coming to life . i will DEFINITLEY stay again !
It is a great, reasonable priced summer getaway kind of place. Susan, the property manager is very helpful and prompt in getting the needful. We will def. come back .
We loved the Conants cottage getaway, beautiful pond , great hiking trails , canoeing, fireplace . It was wonderful getting back to nature and escaping from hustle of everyday life
The cabin is just as nice as the pictures, and my husband and I enjoyed taking the canoe out on the pond. I would suggest not bringing a new car, or a car that rides low to the ground. The dirt road is a little bumpy and also parts of it are only wide enough for one vehicle. So if you meet another vehicle, just know that one of you needs to be able to back up for a distance. We found it added to the adventure. Also, best to arrive in daylight initially and unless you enjoy a challenge, in which case be sure to bring a flashlight. Thank you, Conan family, for sharing your cabin with us.
Very lovely and relaxing . It was great to be able to get out on the canoe!
It was beautiful!

A lovely nature retreat near Cape Cod
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was a true retreat-- a lovely space with a fireplace, comfortable bed, lots of natural light, and nice kitchen. It sits in the midst of a beautiful and secluded wood on a quiet little lake. We found some excellent hiking nearby, explored beaches up and down the cape, and did whale watching from nearby Plymouth. The folk music from Pinehills camp was heard 8-11 each night, which was enjoyable to us, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Old-School Getaway in New England
If you like quiet, secluded and rustic places that are still close enough to services this is a great choice! My partner and I had a beautiful time here, enjoying the clear water in the 'pond', the wildlife...foxes, opsrey, loons, deer, eagles...the area trails for mountain biking, hiking, and the canoeing. It's nearby several really good seafood shacks and markets around Plymouth. It's close enough for side trips to the beaches as well. We have been to Provincetown before but found this area just as fun, beautiful and relaxing. We threw in a trip to New Bedford's Whaling Museum which was great. It's close enough to Boston making this an easy trip from Logan, except that I wouldn't leave Boston heading toward the Cape again on a Friday afternoon. Lesson learned. Thanks!!

About the host
Hosted by Susan Conant
We are a family of five siblings, one mom and six grandchildren. Many of us live in the Boston area and spend our summer weekends on the property.
Why they chose this property
The property was given to our grandparents by their good friend, Helen Storrow, in the 1940's and has been passed through three generations. This property is a part of our bones. It is both a struggle and a labor of love to maintain the historic, rustic character of our structures. We all grew up here and know every root, tree, bug and plant. There are home movies of three generations of babies playing on our beach. We all know the stories -- like how our dad knocked a pillar down while learning to drive.
What makes this property unique
There are rare places in our modern world where time stands still. This is one. We have let a few tinges of modernity filter through -- we do provide basic internet, electricity and hot water. It is a place to turn off the digital world and experience the simple life -- nature, swimming in a clean natural lake, hiking beautiful trails, sitting on the porch, taking in the view, quiet nights, stars, rain pattering on the roof .......
