"The Red Tail" is a spacious 2- bedroom cabin located in the heart of the Fingerlakes in Upstate New York. (3000 County Road 143, Interlaken) If you are looking to get away from noise and enjoy the solitude of nature, this is the place for you! The cabin is close to hiking trails in the Fingerlakes National Forest and wineries and breweries on both Cayuga and Seneca Lake. Close proximity to Trumansburg, Lodi and Ovid and 17 miles to Watkins Glen and Ithaca.

Perfect Wine Weekend Getaway!

My Wife and our bestfriends had the pleasure of staying at this property this weekend for a weekend getaway. They were extremely accomadating and their place had everything you needed to cook a great meal after wine tastings. We even went for a long walk around the property and it was stunning. Would highly recommend this property and would come here again.

It was just perfect. The beds were comfortable, we had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our food. Access to laundry was nice. The surroundings were gorgeous. Cindy was super easy to communicate with and very helpful!

Fall Getaway Retreat!

Beautiful cabin, very clean and plenty of space inside ~ well stocked kitchen, loved the bathroom (especially the barrel sink!), comfortable memory foam beds and leather couch/chair. Enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the back patio to take in the spectacular fall foliage & sunshine! Peaceful, quiet & serene, a nice getaway for the weekend, sure wish we could have stayed much longer! Hosts responded right away to all questions ~ would definitely stay again! Weekend Getaway

We wanted to take a weekend get-a-way to the Fingerlakes without staying in a hotel and found this beautiful little cabin/house. Yes, its in the middle of nowhere (which freaked my teen kids out a bit, lol) but it was just what we were looking for. Beautiful inside, bathroom is stunning for a small cabin and quiet! We were able to enjoy some relaxing family time with a wide variety of games are hosts had available. Our hosts was easy to communicate with and the process was simple. My wife and I will be back at some point, with or without kids!

I was born in Rhode Island but moved to Upstate NY over 30 years ago. I recently retired from classroom technology and am really enjoying traveling, hiking and boating in the Fingerlakes. We originally built this cabin for our son but he is living in Maine now.

Why they chose this property

Our neighborhood is one and a half miles (walking distance!) from the Fingerlakes National Forest. It's a rural neighborhood in a country setting.

What makes this property unique

The Red Tail cabin is a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy solitude. You can watch nature (hawks, deer and fox) from the living room window. It is walking distance to the Fingerlakes trails and easy driving to breweries, wineries, Ovid, Lodi, Interlaken, Ithaca and Watkins Glen.
