About this property
Incredible Getaway - Two Cabins on Exquisite Cove!
This camp has one of the most beautiful, undeveloped waterfront views on Mt. Desert Island. Rustic and relaxed, this shorefront property has been in our family for nearly 100 years. Previously only available to our family, we're excited to now be sharing our slice of paradise with families from all over the world! The two cabins are nestled in a private, wooded setting at the edge of Squid Cove. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front deck or walk a few steps further down to the shore. You can swim from the beach or dock, paddle your kayak in the protected corners of the cove or head out and around Squid Island and into the Western Bay. Wildlife abounds with seals, osprey, gulls and terns and occasional visits are paid by Bald Eagles. Children and adults love to investigate tide pools, walk along the rocky shore, or delve into the spruce forest.
Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are one of the most incredible destinations around. From hiking in the National Park to enjoying the quaint village of Bar Harbor, this island is incredible! Just minutes away from the Park and Bar Harbor sits the quiet side of the island, known for its access to all that Acadia and MDI has to offer, but with a slice of paradise and a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere that the rest of the island cannot offer.
About This Space
MAIN CABIN (Cranberry): The simple interior sleeps 7 with ease. A kitchen with bar seating overlooks a dining area with table for 8. Pass through a second bedroom with single bed to the light and airy master bedroom with queen bed and windows all around. A full bathroom with combined tub and shower sits between the two bedrooms. The spacious, yet cozy “great room” is a perfect family area for puzzles, games and enjoying a fire in the Franklin wood stove. A futon sofa bed and set of two twin beds at one end allow it to serve as a spacious third bedroom. The large deck off the kitchen is perfect for breakfast or evening drinks and taking in views of the cove, or walk down to the point for adirondack chairs and sweeping views of the cove.
GUEST CABIN (Bunchberry): A log cabin sits a few steps further from the water, but enjoys views of the waterfront. The open kitchen and living space is cool in midsummer and cozy with a woodstove when the weather turns cooler. The central living room includes a small dining table for four and two bench sofas for reading or napping. Two bedrooms, one with queen and one with twins, share a full bathroom. Depending on your mood or the weather, choose to relax on the deck outside or on the covered screened porch.
The outdoor spaces are where our family love to spend our time. From our pebble beach you can take rental kayaks (we can provide a recommendation who delivers) and paddle in the calm cove or around Squid Island watching seals, loons, eagles & maybe even a dolphin! Children and adults love to investigate tide pools, walk along the rocky shore, or delve into the spruce forest. Enjoy the large front deck or seating area on the point - great for breakfast or drinks while the tides flow in.
We’re so close to Acadia National Park and it’s amazing! Beech Mountain (and Beech Hill Farm) are very close by. We love biking, Bass Harbor lighthouse, Seawall, walks at Wonderland & Ship Harbor, quaint lobster pounds with oceanfront tables, Long Pond with boat rentals…all & so much more so close. Kayak tours leave from nearby Barletts Landing! We’re available for advice passed down from the 1930’s!
Guest access You will have access to both cabins and coastline in front of cabins. Most rentals must begin & end on Sunday, but we have flexibility for dates September and early June - see our calendar for details. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Being on the water here was so restful and lovely..lots for all to enjoy. Biking on the carriage roads, swimming, hiking and just plain admiring the beauty and diversity of life in the Cove as the tides went up and down
