About Greg P. Gooch

Megan is an elementary school teacher (currently a Stay-at-Home-Mom). We live in New York City on the Upper East Side and Greg is a banker for First Republic Bank.

Greg P. Gooch purchased this lodge in 2011

Why Greg P. Gooch chose Casco

I'm originally from Falmouth, Maine and my parents had a camp in the Lakes Region when I was young. My husband and I wanted for our children to have a similar childhood experience at the lake. We had been researching the market on Sebago Lake for a couple of years before we jumped at the opportunity to buy this property. We've rented homes on the lake and learned that we wanted first and foremost to have southern exposure so it would be warm and sunny all day plus we'd get great sunset views off to the west. We also wanted to be in South Casco near Migis Lodge where we were married in 09. The Dingley Islands protect the Kettle Cove area from the wide open water. Not only are the islands beautiful but they provide you with a destination for kayaking and canoeing and loons and other wildlife love to hang out there! We also love that the property has it's own sandy bottom lake front and is also within a short boat ride to the State Park Sand Bar. All of this and the property is not far from Portland and the airport in one direction and the ski mountains in the other.

Our vacation here was amazing. The property was very well maintained. The location and grounds were very peaceful and accommodated everything you need when going away on vacation. The owners were very helpful and were quick to respond if we needed anything on the property. Overall a great place to stay on Sebago Lake.

Unforgettable week in an unforgettable house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the house for a week in August and it was the perfect setting for us. The house is stunning and immaculate. Every bed is comfortable and each room has plenty of space. We had a mix of adults, toddlers and babies and it was perfect for all of us. The dock set up and kayaks were awesome and so convenient for the group. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to rent a home on Sebago. Our entire family couldn't stop talking about how perfect the house was and how we hope to rent it again in the future!

Beautiful Lake Home

  • 5 of 5

We arrived for our family vacation with six adults and six children (ages 6 through 15). This was a wonderful home with all the extras. It's perfect for a family with children of various ages. I won’t repeat what all the previous reviews stated but they are right on point. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us and the view from the Master Bedroom was just gorgeous. Greg was very accommodating and helpful in suggestions for boat rental, restaurants, etc. All the little extras such as firewood, kayaks, games, pool table, sandbox, etc. made it a perfect vacation home. I would definitely recommend this home!

Gorgeous home in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just got back from a week stay at this gorgeous Sebago Lake home. We traveled with our almost 3 year old son, parents and friends. The house had plenty of room for all of us. My son loved the sandbox, toys and games. The large table on the deck accommodated all of us for dinner. The house is newer and is incredibly clean, tastefully decorated with just about everything you could need. The master has the best views of the lake and at night you can hear the loons and see the moon sparkling over the water. Off the master is the nursery which is really a 5th bedroom, just doesn't have a closet. You can access it from the master or from the hallway. It was perfect for our son and he loved reading the Goodnight Maine and Goodnight Lake books that were provided. The yard is large, grassy, and shaded, perfect for relaxing. But if you wanted sun you could just sit out on the dock. I recommend bringing beach chairs for this. The dock is great, and since it is new you don't have to worry about splinters. We rented a pontoon boat and were able to pull the boat right up to the dock for easy on and off. The lake in front of the house was calm the whole week except one day. I would recommend bringing water shoes as it is a rocky bottom. We enjoyed canoeing along the shore and paddle boarding (we brought our own paddle board, the house provides a canoe and 2 kayaks). We also loved the location of the home. You can easily get to Sebago Lake State Park and Sand Bar by boat or go over to Frye Island for lunch. By car there is much to get to quickly, including the Good Life Market, a great place for lunch sandwiches, salads and groceries. Bob's Seafood was great for ordering lobsters to eat on the deck, and their lobster mac and cheese is to die for. Mosquitoes Ice Cream was the perfect place for an evening treat. We also drove to Portland a few nights for dinner, not too long of a drive. Amazingly enough I didn't get a single mosquito bite even though we were there in July as the owner sprays the property. I do wish we were given a heads up about the company coming to spray while we were there, but I would rather have them spray and enjoy the outdoors than have to stay inside or cover myself in bug repellent. Gregg, the owner, was very pleasant to communicate with and very responsive. I hope to be able to rent his beautiful lake home again in the future! Highly recommend!!!

Awesome lake front property!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time at this property and the house was in wonderful condition. The owner Greg was very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The view was amazing and there was more than enough room for 12 adults. Excellent camp fire space out front, large deck to dine on, and a great dock to sun bathe and dock a boat at and golf courses near by. Greg also provided kayaks, canoes, life jackets and wood for the fire place. I would highly recommend renting this property to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway.
