Why The Owner chose Kohala Coast

I bought in Waikoloa Village due to its great location in a nice, quiet community. It's just a short drive to great beaches and ocean activities and enjoys amazing weather. The condo is also located within walking distance of the grocery store and multiple good restaurants.

Central location with everything that you need available!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I went to the Big Island for the first time and previous reviews about this condo were correct; we got exactly what was expected. It was so nice to have a washer, dryer, dishwasher as this is what makes it an actual holiday for me. The owner gave us crystal clear instructions and we found this to be so helpful. It is always difficult coming to a new place so the instructions reduced our stress. David kept in close contact as well!

The setting was also quite serene. We do usually like to stay right on a beach but this condo was right in the middle of a golf course. We enjoyed watching the wild turkeys, the franklin quail and when we went walking we also enjoyed all of the wild goats scattered around the open fields.

The condo did get quite warm during the day once or twice but as suggested, we could just open the windows and turn on the fans. Even if there is air conditioning, we rarely use it. The bed was comfortable and for the evenings we had multiple channels and great WI-FI. The property was clean and maintained.

It's great central location allowed us to see quite a bit of the island and we ended up coinciding with the 14th Annual Slack-Key Ukelele Festival in Waimea. We ended up attending this three day event and it was very easy to get to Waimea from Waikoloa Village.

The Big Island ended up being on of our favourite Hawaiian Islands and I would definitely recommend this condo for friends and family. It was excellent value for the money paid.

Cute and cozy

  • 4 of 5

The condo was cute and perfect for 1-2 people. It's not in a touristy resort area, which I liked you get to feel more like a local. The neighborhood is very quiet and on site manager was friendly. I met the neighbor across his unit, who was aware that David had a renter. Groceries, restaurants and gas station are close by. I was there for the Ragnar run it was perfect for what I needed. David was quick in responding and his directions were clear to find the condo.

The unit itself is basic but comfortable, kitchen was a little dated but had the amenities needed, bed was cozy. The bathroom light and fan turn on with the same switch so I felt bad that I would come home late and wake up neighbors. No AC but I just kept the windows open and the breeze would cool the place off.

It was a pleasure to wake up hearing all the birds by the balcony trees.

Just what the Dr. ordered!

  • 4 of 5

Just spent a week on the Big Island and the condo was perfect for my needs.

Clean, quiet and and well equipped. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Bottom line: I travel to the Big Island at least three times a year and AND the price cannot be beat!

Clean, well-kept, good value, good location

  • 4 of 5

The title says it all. The property is exactly as advertised, comfortable and no problems. It was very quiet while I was there for about a week. I didn't really use the pool because I was at the beach but I saw others using it and it looked clean and nice with a little grassy area. The geckos are friendly and harmless. There were lots of beach equipment to borrow, like snorkel, fins, boogie board, towels which was very nice.

Recommend to anyone looking for a reasonable price within a decent distance from stores and a short drive to major beaches.

Thanks Dave!

Fair

Nice, cozy condo and a good value.

I am sure that the owner explained that there is no air conditioning, however, that was a surprise to me. Although some nights were chilly, I could not stay in the condo after 10:30 a.m. because of the heat.

Roaches were an unwelcome surprise.

Owner's Response: Very sorry to hear the heat was an issue. The condo instructions clearly state there is no A/C, and I provide some helpful info beforehand on how to keep the unit as cool as possible. Generally the trade winds keep the unit and area cool, but it can be warm in the summer if the winds stop. New ceiling fans help keep it cool as well. Most people do not find the heat to be a problem. Also, roaches are common in Hawaii and it is difficult to keep them out completely. We do our best to keep the condo clean and neat, and many renters comment on the cleanliness.

This condo was perfect for us

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't be happier with our stay at David's condo in Waikoloa Village. We needed a place to stay during the transition period of our move from one house to another on the Big Island. David's condo was perfect for us; it was a short drive to our favorite beaches for those early morning swims and it was clean and quiet just as advertised. We can't thank David enough for all his help and understanding. Again, many Mahalos David!
