This cabin's location is prime. You will be minutes away from the attractions of Gatlinburg:
Explore great Gatlinburg attractions at one of its unique museums, craftsmen fair, miniature golf courses, water parks, motion simulators and Go-Karts or bumper cars. Check out one of the nation's best aquariums, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. The Gatlinburg Ripley's also features mini golf, haunted adventures, mirror maze, a moving theater, a fun zone and, of course, the famous Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. Gatlinburg is also known for its Golf, specialty shops, restaurants, Whitewater Rafting, biking, hiking, and Canopy zip lines.
Or adventure out on one of the many amazing hikes in Smokey Mountain National Forest, here you will find true serenity.
Bear's Escape Cabin is also minutes away from Pigeon Forge:
Here you can enjoy a day at Dollywood. Or one of the many other activities found in Pigeon Forge, such as water parks, Titanic Museum, Wonder Works, Magic Quest, miniature golf, go karts, fairs, dinner theater shows, shopping outlets, and pancake houses galore.
Bears Escape Cabin is a great location to try out Dollywood — This year open the first winged roller coaster in the country. The ride, which opened in April, delivers a heart-stopping twist on regular roller-coaster seats. Seats jut out on either side of the track, so have nothing above or below them but air — giving them a real sensation of flying as they scream at more than 60 mph through four inversions and a zero-gravity roll. Of course, the 200-foot-high coaster’s cars are built to look like the national bird.
Some of our favorite hikes are:
Mingo Falls is on the Cherokee Indian Reservation (Qualla Boundary), just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. No special permits are required for access to the reservation. At 120 feet tall, the waterfall is one of the tallest and most spectacular in the southern Appalachians. The hike to the waterfall is only 0.4 miles in length, but is considered moderate in difficulty. Access Trail: Pigeon Creek Trail Trailhead: From Oconaluftee Visitor Center, drive south (toward Cherokee) on US-441 and take the second left onto Big Cove Road. At the first stop sign turn left and drive 4.5 miles to Mingo Falls Campground, where the trail begins.
Juney Whank Falls
Juney Whank Falls is divided into an upper and lower section. Both can be viewed from the footbridge which crosses Juney Whank Branch at the falls. Together they drop 90 feet from top to bottom. The trail to the waterfall is 0.8 miles roundtrip and is considered moderate in difficulty.
Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest and actually runs behind the 25 foot high waterfall. The cool, moist environment near the falls is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail to stop #5 where there is a large parking area. This one is close and absolutely beautiful. I last hiked it with my 60 year old mother and 4 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 3-11 years old. We saw 3 bears at a distant, swam in the reflective pool of the falls, and had a fun-filled day without over doing it.

Very Nice and Secluded
Very lovely cabin nice and secluded. The drive up is very steep and parking at the cabin is tricky so beware of that. I think the cabin should be better stocked with more cooking utensils, pots/pans, silverware forks/spoons are for children not adult size. Was not able to use the bedroom fireplace because the batteries were no good! I called to get batteries and was told someone would come and they never showed up! But other than the small things, my husband and I had a great romantic weekend to celebrate my birthday! Will definitely visit again!
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I love that thr cabin is nestled into the side of a mountain but that it is only a 1.2 mile drive frim the main parkway...yes only about a mile drive to get to this secluded area.
The cabin was rebuilt and furnished with all new in July 2017. So it has a brand new full dish set, pot set, pan set, and silverware set. We do not have any plastic little kid utensils. Having been a mom of a toddler, I know most moms will have that in the diaper bag. But we did add in addition to the full glass dish set, we added plastic bowls and cups for another option for adult and kids. Also there is a dishwasher provided with dishwasher detergent and dish soap for options for guest who are cooking for most meals there.
Our cleaners check list has line item after each guest to confirm that all remotes work and to insert new batteries if appear to low. Plus we do have extra batteries in the far left kitchen drawer incase any remotes batteries die during your stay. And there is a Family Dollar and a Food City less than 10 mins away. If there is a quick need for batteries or something else. I am notorious for forgetting my toothpaste when we travel, so it's nice to have a supermarket such a short drive drom the cabin.
This cabin has the best location, short drive...just over a mile...but nestled in a secluded private mountain area.
I can’t ask for a better place to stay , great location. Wonderful getaway for the weekend . We enjoyed everything especially the fireplace , Very clean no issues with anything . And I felt like I had a lot of privacy, easy getting to the cabin . Close to any store , attractions , we stayed in the cabin most of the time , we enjoyed it ! Will be back again
Bears Escape is such a great cabin, especially for families!! We loved everything that it offered. The cabin itself is very well maintained and it feels like a second home while you're there. We along with our kids, enjoyed the pool table, air hockey table, and hot tub that it offers. The location is also great since it is within minutes of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The owner is helpful and is quick in responding to any questions you may have about your stay. We would definitely stay here again!!! We even saw bears from the back deck on our first night's stay...Love Bears Escape:)
Very beautiful and quaint.
The cabin was nice, but the drive was sketchy. Lol. The driveway was hard to manuever around. There were not enough towels for 5 people. We had to use the same towel for three days and it states it sleeps 6, but the footons is a little small.
This is a beautiful one bedroom cabin that can sleep up to a family of 4. It has one large king bed in a master bedroom suite, plus 2 small futons in the game room that are good for kids(or petite adults). This cabin has 2 full size bathrooms each with 4 towels, a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom with 2 towels, and a hot tub on the deck. Total of 10 bathroom towels.
The location is great because it is secluded on the side of a mountain but the drive is only 1.2 miles from the Main Parkway. So a short drive from downtown. The driveway was freshly paved June 2017 and can fit 2 vehicles.
When I checked in with you, you wrote back "we got in perfectly! Beautiful!" I did not hear back about a request for more towels during your 3 night stay or any other requests. We do have a great cleaning service and when we have guest for long stays, they call us when they need the 10 towels and linens exchanged out. We often have happy honey mooners that stay 10 to 14 days. With a fireplace and jacuzzi tub in the bedroom, it is such a romantic place to stay.
