This cabin's location is prime. You will be minutes away from the attractions of Gatlinburg:
Explore great Gatlinburg attractions at one of its unique museums, craftsmen fair, miniature golf courses, water parks, motion simulators and Go-Karts or bumper cars. Check out one of the nation's best aquariums, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. The Gatlinburg Ripley's also features mini golf, haunted adventures, mirror maze, a moving theater, a fun zone and, of course, the famous Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. Gatlinburg is also known for its Golf, specialty shops, restaurants, Whitewater Rafting, biking, hiking, and Canopy zip lines.
Or adventure out on one of the many amazing hikes in Smokey Mountain National Forest, here you will find true serenity.
Bear's Escape Cabin is also minutes away from Pigeon Forge:
Here you can enjoy a day at Dollywood. Or one of the many other activities found in Pigeon Forge, such as water parks, Titanic Museum, Wonder Works, Magic Quest, miniature golf, go karts, fairs, dinner theater shows, shopping outlets, and pancake houses galore.
Bears Escape Cabin is a great location to try out Dollywood — This year open the first winged roller coaster in the country. The ride, which opened in April, delivers a heart-stopping twist on regular roller-coaster seats. Seats jut out on either side of the track, so have nothing above or below them but air — giving them a real sensation of flying as they scream at more than 60 mph through four inversions and a zero-gravity roll. Of course, the 200-foot-high coaster’s cars are built to look like the national bird.
Some of our favorite hikes are:
Mingo Falls is on the Cherokee Indian Reservation (Qualla Boundary), just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. No special permits are required for access to the reservation. At 120 feet tall, the waterfall is one of the tallest and most spectacular in the southern Appalachians. The hike to the waterfall is only 0.4 miles in length, but is considered moderate in difficulty. Access Trail: Pigeon Creek Trail Trailhead: From Oconaluftee Visitor Center, drive south (toward Cherokee) on US-441 and take the second left onto Big Cove Road. At the first stop sign turn left and drive 4.5 miles to Mingo Falls Campground, where the trail begins.
Juney Whank Falls
Juney Whank Falls is divided into an upper and lower section. Both can be viewed from the footbridge which crosses Juney Whank Branch at the falls. Together they drop 90 feet from top to bottom. The trail to the waterfall is 0.8 miles roundtrip and is considered moderate in difficulty.
Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest and actually runs behind the 25 foot high waterfall. The cool, moist environment near the falls is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail to stop #5 where there is a large parking area. This one is close and absolutely beautiful. I last hiked it with my 60 year old mother and 4 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 3-11 years old. We saw 3 bears at a distant, swam in the reflective pool of the falls, and had a fun-filled day without over doing it.

We are two Veterans who fell in love with the Smokies. This area has so much to offer that we could visit it 100 times and still not experience all that we are interested it. The beauty, the hiking, the wildlife, the attractions, the shopping, the restaurants….the fun.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2008
We love the beauty of this area and the rustic elegance of this cabin.
Close easy drive to downtown.
Nature watching from the back decks. Enjoying morning coffee in a log rocker on the private back deck. Relaxing in large hottub. Romance of the masterbedroom suite that has a fireplace, jetted jacuzzi for 2 and vertical spa shower. Fun gameroom with billards pool, fooseball, playstation, hdtv, dvd, wifi, puzzles, board games...etc.
Very nice cabin. Close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg & Smoky Mt. National Park, yet you are definitely away from the hustle of the towns. Cabin was very clean and well stocked. Owner in a gem. Owner replied quickly to any concerns we had and went out of her way to ensure a comfortable stay. Spring time in this area is breath taking!
We celebrate our 22nd anniversary here. It was awesome the bottom level was so dark, it was great for sleeping nice And cool. I actually slept past 5am. The main level was so peaceful. I loved it. Enjoyed the nature outside.
Perfect cabin. Such a romantic and peaceful place. Bed was huge and comfortable, cabin was super clean, nice views, fun games. Drive and driveway was easy. WiFi and cable worked great. Hot tub was great, very relaxing. We grilled and relaxed, played pool, and went hiking. Looking forward to going back to ski this winter.
Lovely location beautiful cabin, wonderful amenities and could have been perfect if...
Pros: wonderful hideaway location w beautiful cabin to escape to with great amenities w so much potential
Cons: advertised wifi that never worked, the hot tub water was dirty, there was dirty laundry in the bedroom when we arrived, and they never had anyone pick up trash for the two weeks we were there and animals ransacked it.
This was the perfect cabin for our family of 4. It was easy to rent. I definitely recommend Vacation Rentals By Owner!
The trip was enjoyable. The cabin was clean and definitely convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The drive to the cabin was rather scary the first trip but got better each time.
The driveway really needs to be fixed for smaller cars. The dishwasher was inoperable, but not a big deal. Also the free wifi apparently had the password changed and Dorothy was not aware so there was no wifi available.
For the most part, the cabin was very nice, Dorothy was very personable and responded pretty quickly when a storm knocked out power for a few hours.
I would just recommend anyone renting this cabin go into it with an open mind. After all, life is what you make it.
This cabin was beautiful, our second stay here. Clean, nice layout, open great room for family time, beautiful private decks, awesome hot tub. Easy to find and travel to. No issues our entire stay, stressfree, and relaxing. We had a great time.
Close to activities in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Smokey Mountain National Park. Minutes from wading river spots and swimming holes. Less than 2 miles to glass enclosed waterpark. Just 2 miles from trolly stop with free parking. Just 4 miles from the center of downtown Gatlinburg. Less than 4 miles to the Ripleys Aquarium. And only 7 miles to downtown Pigeon Forge where there are shops, restaurants, museums, minature gold, gocarts, amusement parks...etc.
