Lake Escape - 3,600 sq ft Waterfront Lake Lure, Behind Gate of Rumbling Bald

Beautiful and spacious three story lakefront home is on main Lake Lure and located behind the gate in fabulous amenity-rich Rumbling Bald Resort! This 5 bedroom 5 bath stunner is on large private lot and is surrounded by trees and peaceful nature sounds. You can walk, drive, or rent golf cart (recommended) to the members-only resort featuring spa, 5 pools, beach, tennis/pickelball courts, two 18-hole golf courses, restaurants, and fun events. Enjoy the hot tub and firepit at this home or host movie night on big "screen" with projector provided. Only 16 steps down to the lake with a SUP and two kayaks. Rent a boat and moor it the dock (note that boat pictured not included, but you can rent from multiple companies in the area). Note that the shoreline of this property was severely altered by Hurricane Helene and is no longer suitable for wading due to sediment that has collected and replaced the sand but swimming and floating (bring rafts) is safe off dock and the house is perfect for gathering families together for a memorable and relaxing mountain vacation. There are very few short-term rentals in Rumbling Bald that are waterfront so secure your dates now!

Great for a group!

We had a great time and enjoyed the ample, well stocked space. The access to amenities at Rumbling Bald was wonderful!

This house was very roomy, well equipped for any needs, and the amenities met all our needs. Jennifer, the host, was awesome in responding to any questions and providing timely communications before and during our stay, as well as addressing any issues. Extra amenities associated with Rumbling Bald at the pool and lake beach area were a bright spot for all. The lake was still recovering from the 2024 hurricane damage but seems almost complete as to the dock area.

I am very disappointed to read this rating of 8/10. I responded promptly when they reached out with concerns. Guests were aware that this area suffered from a catastrophic flood as a result of Hurricane Helene in 2024. The lake had been closed almost two years for massive cleaning and restoration efforts and when they booked, I was very clear that the future of the lake was in question. Their issue was that the shoreline had “weeds and leaves”, however we cannot bring sand in and the Town is very strict about homeowners doing any lake disturbance (their words) with shoreline until it is drawn down in January. A powerwash of the dock area and furniture was done but no chemicals are allowed to be used near the water. I would have hoped with what devastation this area endured, that more grace would have been given. They were the second family to stay at the house since lake reopened on May 20, 2026 and heavy rain always brings in debris. I did make certain all photos in listing are of current shoreline, and appreciated them pointing that out since I do not want anyone to be misled.
