Our stay in April was (somewhat) impacted by a few days of rain...more than just the typical afternoon shower, this was day long storms. This meant we didn't get to take advantage of the wonderful beach right outside our unit. Instead, we spent time exploring the entire island of Oahu...which resulted in over 550 miles of driving! This is largely influenced by the location of the unit (Makaha) being pretty far removed from the major tourist attractions like Waikiki and North Shore. We knew this going in but be prepared for a lot of windshield time if the weather isn't beach worthy! The unit itself was fine and lived up to the expectations set out in the descriptions (including the A/C unit only for the bedroom). We had a couple of issues: the first night was very windy and, due to the inability to seal the windows, this created a "wind tunnel" effect in the bedroom which made it very difficult to sleep due to the noise. On our last day, the entire building lost power. Fortunately, the elevators were on backup generators so we didn't have to carry our luggage down the stairwell.Overall, the price is right for the location and, if you're willing to drive a little, then you can see the rest of the island with no problems.
