Built in 1903 and renovated in 2008, our farmhouse has the coziness of an old country home and the vitality of a modern art gallery. A full cascade of windows show off beautiful Hominy Valley and is only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville.
Multiple indoor and outdoor sitting areas create opportunities for friends and families to gather. A fire pit, 7 acres and a wonderful swimming hole open up a lifetime of memories. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a 10 minute drive. Our fully appointed modern kitchen has everything the avid cook might need.
The property is a working farm managed by Shaun and Natasha who live in the renovated barn. Natasha sells her eggs and produce and is available for preparing culinary yuminess!

About the host
Hosted by Anne and Tom Sherry
We bought a foreclosed dilapidated farmhouse in 1998 with the dream of homesteading and running a market farm. The chicken coop went up before our toilets flushed down. After a year of building gardens, we started selling produce at tailgate markets and to local restaurants. While sustainable living was Tom's passion, Anne's love of art needed a space to thrive. We shifted focus to rebuilding our 115 year-old farmhouse. After two years of design and five years of construction we have the home of our dreams. Then our wonderful son August came into our world, running a market garden had to take a back seat. All of this could not be accomplished by simply growing great produce. We both are psychotherapists focusing on adolescents, families, and adults. We decided to move to the city and share our piece of heaven with travelers looking for a unique experience - close enough to the city (20 minutes) and yet world's away in the quiet spacious country with gorgeous views.
Why they chose this property
The combination of mountain views, organic farm, a vast art collection just 20 minutes from downtown Asheville makes Whistlepig Farm so unique.
What makes this property unique
Our house is like no other home. It is half farmhouse modern half art gallery with view everywhere. It you like relaxing beauty is every where you look, this is the place. The creek is a great place to cool of during the day and the fire pit is great for catching up at night.
