Chimacum Ridge Lodge is the fulfillment of a Legacy that began in the early 1930’s in the fertile Chimacum Valley. The owners live on the 15 wooded acres located on Chimacum Ridge that was purchased for $200 in 1941 by the owners father. The dream was fulfilled in 2007 with the construction of Chimacum Ridge Lodge by his third son, Daniel. His father had successfully farmed the fertile valley, as well as leasing Protection Island, where he grew wheat and raised beef cattle barraged to the island from Cape George.
Why Dan & Donna Purnell chose Chimacum
The Lodge is secluded on 15 acreas of wooded land which offers guests to experience the sights and sounds of nature. Sitting on the expansive covered deck, you can take in the sights and sounds of your retreat with the splendor of sunsets over the Olympic Mountains. Watch hummingbirds compete for nectar in their favorite feeders or flowers, listen for eagles calling as they soar over the valley, and be thrilled as huge Trumpeter swans return to the marshes below in the valley, during the fall. Resident ducks and geese provide extra background sounds.
What makes this Lodge unique
Your retreat is part of the fertile Chimacum valley and farming area. You can visit the producers in the valley to get first hand information about producing organically grown crops and grass fed beef – and all is available for your purchase. Take your bounty back to your cabin kitchen and prepare a healthy and wonderful meal. This local organically grown food is proudly prepared and served in restaurants throughout the area.
