This house is absolutely wonderful! An amazing location with a short walking path right across the street that leads directly onto the beach. Beautiful and secluded area. The house has literally everything you need, from kitchen items to games to beach chairs and toys. It's more spacious than the photos, and we had plenty of room for our family trip. If you're thinking of staying here, I strongly suggest doing it!

Hale Pulelehu’a is incredible. The house was so clean and inviting. It was the perfect size for our multi-generational group. The kitchen was big enough to allow many people to work on meals and was stocked with every tool we needed. And the beach is not only just a few steps away, but is gorgeous and uncrowded. We were there in the summer and the swimming and snorkeling were perfect. All of us would love to return and highly recommend staying here.

The house is very nice and exactly as advertised. The kitchen is well stocked, we cooked several meals there. The air conditioning is cold and works well. The location is perfect if you want to get away from everything on the North Shore. Tunnels is a walk/ short car drive away so it’s easy to unload beach gear. There is also a well stocked beach cabinet with excellent chair, umbrella, and really good snorkeling gear. Basically everything you need is there! The beach across the street is stunning and very secluded. The manager was responsive when we had a question about the bridge closing (heavy rains). Would definitely recommend this house for anyone who needs space and wants to experience beautiful North Kauai!

right across the street from the beach! the neighbors and neighborhood is exactly what we wanted.....away from all the hustle & bustle. The north side of Kauai is wild hawaii! we loved it. the house also has snorkel gear if needed.

Wonderful family vaxation

This home and cottage were perfect for our group of 10. Our grown children their spouses and teenagers 16 & 19 and they each brought a friend. The beach just across the street was great for snorkeling,, they saw many fish and turtles. a little rough to just swim. We visited a lot of different beaches , ate some nice restaurants and cafes. The house is very well maintained and stocked with the necessities !

Fantastic House

House is great. Very wide and open design. Nice views of trees from house. Very peaceful and relaxing. Beach is across the street. However, the beach is not for kids as there are large rocks in the water and the surf can get pretty rough. It is a nice beach to sit out and relax on. Location is quiet and about 15 minutes away from any stores/restaurant. The house is the star of the show and a really nice place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay and will remember it for years to come. It was so suitable for two families with space and accommodation for all. The house is just lovely and we so appreciated the thoughtfulness put into every detail. We have the best photo from our first day of the kids running down the path across the street from the house full of wonder and excitement. Perfect North Shore property

My wife and I and our two older teen daughters have rented several other Haena properties in the past and highly recommend Hale Pulelehu’a! One of the cleanest properties we’ve ever rented, equipped with absolutely everything from kitchen equipment to beach chairs, toys, and snorkeling gear, a lovely backyard, great outdoor shower, and access to a secluded beach was just steps away. At this price you will not find a finer property on the North Shore of Kauai.

Magical location

The location of this house was a dream come true. The beach path is directly across from the house. You can walk to Tunnels Beach from that beach. Neighborhood is very quiet with beautiful foliage. Plenty of space for 2 families. The beds were all very comfortable and loved how the master was separated from the other bedrooms so the kids had their own space. The upstairs outside dining area is where we spent all of our times with meals. There were plenty of chairs and boogie boards for us all. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Had a 5 star 2-week stay here!

Luxury in Paradise

We LOVED our stay here! We had excellent communication with the property owner every step of the way. The location is wonderful and the house is gorgeous. Tons of space, both inside and outside, nicely appointed, and stunning surrounds. We had everything we could have wanted and more, we were really impressed with all the kitchen and beach stuff available (what a nice surprise to have a salad spinner and a blender - those aren't always common in vacation house rentals! The beach chairs and umbrellas were awesome to have.) We would absolutely book this again. One item worth noting - there's a master bedroom suite that has one of the two full bathrooms. The other full bathroom and half bath are accessed through shared spaces. For our group of eight adults from four households, it made an even sharing of the two full bathrooms a bit awkward since one of the bathrooms had to be accessed through the master bedroom. It was fine and not a deal breaker at all but could make a difference depending on a group's dynamics and was a point of consternation for one of our more fussy travelers :) I can't say enough great things about this place though. We took beach walks every morning, we had incredible star gazing at night, we loved having both the upstairs and downstairs lanai to linger over coffee or cocktails. We loved that we were very close to town but far enough away to feel like kamaaina. MAHALO LUI, we hope to be back some time in the future!!

Don't hesitate to book here for your large group! We were so comfortable with all necessities and plenty of extras. Bill was very communicative, prompt and kind. An exemplary stay for our Father's 80th Birthday celebration!

Great stay on the north shore

This house was perfect for our week in Kauai. Spacious and everything works! As advertised, you are steps away from the beach. Good for walks and views, but too rough to swim/snorkel this time of year. We used the chairs and beach equipment A LOT. No surprises. Bill and his property manager are great communicators. I would love to come back!

Great location if you want to get away from it all.

Overall the property is very nice and located just 50 steps from the beach. There were plenty of birds and butterflies to add to the ambience. But with the various locations of road construction it is slow/difficult to access any other part of Kauai. The lack of internet/cell service at the property made check in very difficult and isolated us when the power went off for 5 hours (which we are told is weekly). We had a smoke detector go off in the middle of the night and had to go to extremes to get it down and shut off. Despite the second story location we had our share of roaches. Overall it is okay but we will not return.

Wonderful

The house is beautiful and kitchen and bathrooms large and functional. Just a minute walk to the beach and great patio for wet swim suits, towels. Has everything you need for the beach- towels, boogie boards, umbrella, chairs. Owner and property manager easy to contact, helpful. Would definitely stay here again! House is in an amazing location.

Lovely large house close to the beach

This large 4-bedroom house is just lovely. We had our daughter’s family of 5 plus my husband and I rented the next door guesthouse for ourselves. This worked out really well. The guesthouse is somewhat minimal which was fine since we ate all our meals at the main house. The kitchen was large and very well stocked although you do need to buy all your food since it only came with salt & pepper and some other spices, as well as some oil and vinegar. The lanai was spacious and comfortable. The beach was just across the street and down a short walkway. My husband often walked with the grandkids first thing in the morning down to the Hanalei Colony Resort coffee shop for his morning latte. Ha’ena County Park was just down the road a bit which is on Tunnels Beach, another lovely spot. The owner and manager were both very responsive when we couldn’t figure out how to get into the guesthouse (our mistake) and we didn’t need to contact them after that since everything worked really well. Lovely spot and lovely house.

Amazing Stay

The stay at Hale Pulelehu’a was a special experience for our family. The property was perfect for our family of five. Rooms and outdoor areas are spacious, everything well cared for, and we immediately felt at home. Being steps away from the beach allowed everyone to conveniently swim, snorkel, and relax. The natural beauty of the surrounding area is picture perfect. Every day felt like being in paradise. Thank you Hale Pulelehu’a for the one of a kind memories.

The Butterfly House is Beautiful!

We spent a week on the North Shore of Kauai in this beautiful home! The gardens are lovely, the home is inviting and comfortable with plenty of room for our family of four! Just steps from the sandy beach, smells of the pacific and a nearly private beach! We were welcomed by a clean home, cute critters (chickens, anoles, geckos, wild birds and snails) and a kind host. I definitely recommend the privacy of the Haena area of the North Shore and guarantee you’ll love enjoying the Aloha of Kauai in this home!

Well appointed comfort and peace

Our stay was beyond compare. The lovely home was welcoming and comfortable. The location was excellent. A beautiful beach with spectacular views steps away from the front door. We appreciate how the homeowner was in communication with us. It was all we could have hoped for in a rental home! Mahalo

I have been returning to Kauai since first living here in 1975. Hale Pulelehu'a is located on the best beach on the entire island of Kauai. We designed Hale Pulelehu'a to appeal to our multi-generational family. The house is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the North Shore and is close to so many great activities. There are so many spectacular things to do within walking distance of the house that you may not even want to get in your car!
