This cabin is so sweet and the property is stunning. I went as a birthday getaway to disconnect and reset and it did not disappoint. Soaking in the outdoor tub at dawn, listening to the birds chirping and branches falling through the stones of the earth was magical. The sauna was so incredibly relaxing, I dozed off in the hammock a couple of times, and my partner and I enjoyed the vinyl records while we played board games on the floor of the loft before bed. Needless to say, we'll be going back.
Welcome to my childhood home. I was raised running through this vineyard helping my parents run the family business. Growing up, it was common for my brothers, Dad, and I to spend long evenings taking back-to-back saunas, talking and sharing the space for hours on end. It remains a space to step away from the business and slow down.
I’m now in my mid-20s, in Los Angeles, persuing my career as a filmmaker. With my borthers and I out of the house, this sauna wasn’t getting much use. Only now, living across the state, far from home, I am able to look back and understand how incredible this space is.
With that understanding, I’ve renovated this lodge as a way to share the experience with more people. So I invite you to enjoy the quiet forest, starry nights, hot saunas, cold baths, and hopefully a little wine after.
Kindly, Quinn
Why they chose this property
Neighborhood highlights ARMSTRONG REDWOODS Drive: ~30 minutes In Sonoma County's Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, walk among sprouting ferns and giant trees in the magnificence of nature. Beneath the soaring redwood canopy, you'll feel silenced by the trees' majesty and humbled by their endurance of more than a thousand years.
BODEGA HEAD Drive: ~35 minutes Jutting out into the Pacific Ocean, the small rocky peninsula known as Bodega Head offers stunning bluff top vistas, enticing trails, beach access, and abundant wildlife viewing, from seabirds to seals and migrating whales.
MOONSHINE ROAD Walk: ~10 minutes Going up the driveway and to the main road, take a left on Burnside. After about .5 miles, on your right you’ll reach the beginning of the gravel road called “Moonshine.” Soak in the stunning views of our backyard with this 1.5 mile walk to the end of the road.
Be sure to go to downtown Sebastopol's Barlow where you'll find dozens of restaurants and local shops.
Getting around There is parking on site in a gated property. Maximum of two cars. Ride share is not popular in Sebastopol; I'd recommend renting a car to get the best of Sonoma County.
What makes this property unique
A family one-acre site, Halleck Vineyard is perched above the Russian River watershed and flanked on the west by the slopes to the Pacific Ocean. It commands an expansive view of the rolling Sonoma County hills to the northeast. At 900 feet, it is one of the highest vineyards in Sonoma County. Planted to encircle the Burnside home, the vineyard faces the
west and the north.
During the second half of the growing season, coastal fog invades the landscape every afternoon and on rare days, the sun only peeks through. This cool weather allows the fruit to mature slowly and the flavors to intensify. Our Indian summer heat in late September through October spikes the ripening and sugar levels at the last moment for perfect
harvest conditions.
The primary intent for this vineyard was to serve as a college fund for our three boys, Connor, Adam, and Quinn. Of course, a passion for Pinot led the
