Why Beth chose Bodega Bay

Why 'Aftermath?' In 1955, our grandparents, math teachers from Concord, California, bought this fisherman’s cabin to spend summers away from the East Bay heat. Over the years, next generations have expanded and improved it, while maintaining its charm. In honor of our grandparents, we call it 'Aftermath.'

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

We are thrilled at finding "Aftermath" and are already planning a longer stay next time. All you need to bring are some clothes, toiletries and food. Everything else is already there. The kitchen is complete so don't bother bringing any cookware. The ocean view is the star of the show. We got lucky to have bright blue skies and warm temps during the day and clear skies for star gazing at night. Nice and cozy by the outdoor fireplace too! Be sure to explore the shops and try some great clam chowder in Bodega Bay.

Even better than advertised!!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I spent three nights at Aftermath and are already planning our next stay. This was the first time that real life was even better than the pictures and description. Watching the sunset from the spa was probably our favorite, and the sound of the ocean is always there...even when we went to bed! It was worth every penny!!

Fantastic ocean view and comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

Positives: Comfortable furniture and cozy feel to cabin. Loved fireplace gas insert and Direct TV, and loved the family history of 4 generations enjoying ownership of this special place. Negatives: Water! It is purchased and trucked in to holding tank. We brought 4 gallons of drinking water, showered once in 3 days, and still ran out of water with being super conservative. Called owner, went to voice mail and messages were full, so no way to reach anyone to have water tank refilled. Other than water issue, a beautiful place to stay. We will stay again, but be sure to confirm with owner the water holding tank is topped off before your visit and be super conservative. Know it's expensive for owner, but we paid enough that we should have had enough for basic cooking and hygiene purposes.

Owner's Response: My sincere apologies for the water outage and your inability to reach me. We try our hardest to monitor water tank, but this one slipped. We have put systems in place to be more accurate. My son and his wife welcomed a baby during your stay which lead to many left messages. My voicemail box will not be filled to capacity again.

All the comforts of home with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.

Hot tub and fire pit on the back deck.

Comes with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.

Short walk to the beach.

Doesn't matter the weather, we always enjoy our time here.

Incredible Spot!!!

  • 5 of 5

Three of us spent 4 nights and loved the ocean views even though the weather didn't cooperate. The cottage was cozy and obviously much loved and cared for. The beds were great, the kitchen well equipped and the front court was great for the dog. Was fun to read the history and see the family pictures. The location was perfect for lunch 2 days in Bodega Bay, dinner one night at River's End and a wine tour with Woody's Wine Tours (wonderful source for tours!). We will be back next year!
