Newly Updated 3 / 2, Very large yard, Minutes to the beach, town, marina!

(Direct link to our VRBO site: WWW.CAPEVACATION.NET) Centrally located in Harwich Port with close proximity to the beach, harbors, downtown, and local attractions, our home is a spacious and custom "Cape" with the ambiance of a beachside cottage, with the amenities of a modern home. With everything you could want within very close proximity and all your desired amenities onsite, The Port House is the perfect hub for a relaxing and refreshing summer vacation, weekend getaway (for golf etc.), wedding trip, or long-term stay. In total, there are three large bedrooms (two queen beds / one double / two single rollaways; can sleep up to 8 people comfortably) and two full bath's including walk-in shower and full bathtub. 6 Doane Way features a luxurious four season sunroom, outside brick deck, and very large front and backyards. Furthermore, the home is fully heated with an AC unit in each bedroom, and high definition cable and high speed internet available year round.

The Port House is a two-story, 3-bedroom 2-bathroom house that was recently updated. It is well built, spacious, and very clean traditional Cape that has hardwood floors and hand-finished ceilings throughout the premise. The first floor features a spacious living room w/ a flat screen TV and DVD player that is perfect for the family to watch a game /movie or catch up on the days events. The living room is well lit and open. With room for the whole family and a fireplace, the dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with the family during any month of the year. Adjacent to the living room, is a bright and energizing sunroom, which is the perfect location to read a good book, catch the afternoon sunset, or watch a ball game on the new 40'' SONY flatscreen TV. The room has comfortable seating, including chairs, table, and a comfortable microfiber couch (great for an afternoon nap!). Also, a full kitchen is located off the dining room and comes equipped with an oven, stovetop, heating oven, refrigerator/freezer (brand new), microwave (brand new), dishwasher (brand new). The kitchen overlooks the backyard and features an eating area for dining and cabinet space for storage. This versatile kitchen is great for cooking small meals or a large feast! Finally, a master bedroom resides on the first floor. The suite features a Queen Bed as well as a flat screen TV. A full bathroom (with marble "him & her" shower) is accessible from both the bedroom and the kitchen. Finally, a washing machine (brand new) and dryer are located on the first floor.

The second floor houses two additional bedrooms (Queen and Double) and a large bathroom (including bathtub). Both bedrooms have a large walk-in closet and room for a rollaway bed, which are located in each respective closet. Both bedrooms have sitting areas (with a flat screen TV in the larger of the two) and one of the bedrooms has a daybed for the kids to take a nap. For convenience (and quiet), families can enclose the upstairs area.

A outdoor brick deck is directly accessible from the sunroom. During the summer months, the deck has outdoor furniture and grill, making it the perfect place for a summer cookout. Furthermore, our home has a very large backyard (with a brand new 6 ft fence) and a large front yard, which is a great place for the kids to play or to host a gathering with friends and family. Finally, the outdoor deck features an outside shower with a changing area, stereo, and lighting to rinse off or take a relaxing shower after the beach. The prevailing southwest wind off the water makes the deck and yard a Summer/Fall favorite.

Finally, the property features an attached garage with a small bluestone patio located outside the garage. There is a beach buggy, wagon, sand toys etc. located in the garage.

We want our home to be your preferred Cape Cod destination year around. We want our guests to feel welcome and lodging to be the easy part of the equation. Currently, we are in the process of upgrading the property and always look to our tenants for feedback. We consider ourselves a partner in maximizing the potential of your stay! We have spent our summers in Harwich Port for over 20 years enjoying everything a New England vacation has to offer. Our family comes together each summer to enjoy the beautiful scenery and local attractions of the Cape and Islands. Our time in Harwich Port provides us the perfect platform to enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, golfing, running and the beach!

Why Scott chose Cape Cod

Harwich Port is centrally located in the Mid-Cape, neighboring Chatham, Dennis Port, and Brewster. Our house is just a short walk to the beach, harbors, and downtown, making it the ideal location. Harwich Center and local attractions (Bike Path, Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages, Mini Golf, Golf Clubs etc) are minutes away.

Our house is a convenient location for couples and family alike during both the summer and offseason. With 3 large bedrooms/2 full bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen, large front and back yard, four season patio, and a outdoor deck, family and friends have the ideal space to create long lasting family memories. With a 1-2 minute walk to the beach, home base is never far away.

Our home is available during the summer and off-season for long and short-term stays enabling our guests to enjoy all aspects of New England living.

Excellent house in Cape Cod

This house worked out extremely well for our family vacation. There was one room for me, my wife, and our 7 year old son; another room for my brother and his girlfriend; and a master bedroom for our parents. The location was ideal with a beautiful beach and downtown Harwich Port all within walking distance. It was also convenient to have a supermarket and CVS pharmacy nearby. The go-karts, bumper boats, and trampolines are all very close, along with some great bars and restaurants. The house was very clean and well maintained. We spent a lot of time on the patio and playing games out in the big and beautiful backyard. Scott was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Harwich Port.

An Ideal Spot!

This house was ideal for our family gathering! It is a lovely, traditional Cape Cod house, and Scott and Brian have done a wonderful job of renovating and updating it. All the rooms are spacious and light-filled. Our adult son and his girlfriend used one of the upstairs bedrooms, complete with a sitting area. Our daughter, her husband, and our 5-year-old grandson stayed in the other upstairs bedroom, which includes a daybed and a play area, complete with books and games. My husband and I enjoyed the master bedroom and the luxurious marble shower in the master bath. There are large closets and plenty of drawer space in each bedroom. The open living room and dining room, as well as the sun room, provide lots of places for relaxing separately or being together. There is comfortable seating everywhere, and the decor is beautiful, including original Cape Cod art. The kitchen is well-equipped --- I've never seen so many glasses! The kitchen and patio, as well as the dining room, provide varied places for dining. We entertained additional family members a couple of times. Our extended family has been coming to the Harwich Port area for more than 50 years, and this house has a great location, near the charming village of Harwich Port, as well as near the lovely private beach. The beach equipment and toys were well-used by us. Scott is a gracious, warm, and generous host, communicating efficiently, offering us extra beach chairs and another beach umbrella, and recommending the most appropriate restaurants, ice cream places, and golf courses for our group. Some of us went kayaking, biking, and exploring the National Seashore and the Monomoy Wildlife Preserve with tourist info Scott provided. We have stayed in several VRBO properties in various parts of the country, and this house was definitely the best we have experienced in terms of comfort, beauty, and livability!

The Best of the Best

When my husband and I walked into 6 Doane Way, it took our breathe away. Everything Scott said about it was true. The location was perfect. The house immaculate. We walked into town; walked to the beach; went shopping. Grocery store, deli, and churches were minutes away. The amenities were outstanding: fully equipped kitchen, 4 flat screen tv,s, master bedroom downstairs with bath and 2 bedrooms upstairs with a bath.The house had everything to make a vacation perfect. Scott, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay special. I've recommended the house to family and friends. The one hour and 30 minute from Boston was delightful: like a spectacular picture from Currier and Ives. We hope we can return next fall. We miss the house, but most of all, we miss Scott's smile and sincerity. Rosemary and Tony

The Best!!

What a find this vacation home was for my family. This house and owner are tremendous! Everything we needed was provided and then some. The home is meticulously maintained inside and out, so, so clean! The open concept provided us with all the space we could have asked for and we’re still talking about the beautiful living room and sunroom!! The first floor master bath is marvelous; we really loved the marble shower. All of the furniture was very comfortable, the kitchen was really well stocked, and the garage had beach chairs and toys for us to use. The pristine landscaping could only be matched by the outdoor shower, which had its own stereo system! The neighborhood beach took minutes to walk to and was really clean. The town and location where perfect!

The owner takes great pride in his home and puts his guests first. I highly recommend staying at 6 Doane Way, it’s the best home we’ve stayed in.

Exceeded Expectations

We chose the house because of the separation of Master bedroom on first floor and the 2 bedrooms upstairs, as well as the location. We were not disappointed by either. The location was perfect for those who want more than just a beach vacation. We walked for coffee in the mornings; we biked; we explored neighboring towns; we ferried to Nantucket. And our grown kids had privacy upstairs, as we did on the main floor.

The house is ideal for families and for groups. Scott opened up the first floor by tearing down the wall that would have separated the dining and living rooms; and the floor plan is perfect for being together, yet doing your own thing while at home. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. The appliances worked well. The master bath was redone and was awesome!

Scott is committed to making his house perfect for everyone, and requests, rightfully so, that the renters respect this. So everything is pristine, which we very much appreciated.

We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and recharging vacation with our family and friends.

A Great House in a Great Location

We've thoroughly enjoyed our time here the last two years, and look forward to coming back for many future summers. The owners' pride in their home is matched with the hospitality they've shown our family. They continue to make upgrades to the house, and the huge yard and proximity to the beach and shops is ideal. We have nothing but positive things to say about this property. It's become our favorite place on the Cape!

Nestled near the corner of Lower County Road, our home is conveniently situated between Allen Harbor and Wychmere Harbor and a very short walk from Wyndemere Bluffs Road Beach. Whether you and your family are looking to enjoy time on the beach, spend a day on the water, devour a cup of New England Clam Chowder, or take the kids to the Go Carts or saltwater fishing, options are right around the corner. In addition to its close proximity to the beach and harbor, our home is right down the street from local ice cream favorites (Dairy Queen and Sundae School), children's attractions (Go Carts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages, Miniature Golf, Fishing), and dining favorites (The Port, Cape Sea Grille, Ember Pizza, Brax Landing). Furthermore, our house is a short ride to the Golf Course (Cranberry Valley, Captain's Course), gym (BodyStrong Fitness) and Cape Cod Baseball League action (Harwich Mariners). Finally, if you are looking to visit attractions across Cape Cod, our house is located in the Mid-Cape and less than 0.5 miles from the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6), making it an easy ride to Cape Cod treasures such as the National Seashore, Pleasant Bay, Nickerson State Park, Cape Cod Bike Trail, Chatham, and Provincetown while the Freedom Ferry to Nantucket is just 0.5 miles down Route 28.
